See I think a portion of NLTOG thoughts are an attempt to keep a sense of self while being denied humanity. 'You're not like us! You're weird, you're a freak, we don't want you around unfeminine girl!' 'You're right. I'm not like you, I'm better' 'Wait, no you were supposed to maintain a sense of sisterhood with us despite our bullying and either learn to conform to feminine beauty standards and interests or to loathe yourself for your inability and/or lack of desire to be 'normal.''
When you make a joke about how if men could get pregnant they’d sell abortion pills in vending machines only to get hit with “trans men exist”
Yes, I am aware that women who change their pronouns are still capable of getting pregnant. It comes with the female reproductive system. This is not revolutionary information, nor is it an example of males getting pregnant
Don’t walk yourself into getting your feelings hurt if you can’t handle that being pointed out
Oh shit they want to be a part of the ‘weird spiritual belief but go off king’ group?
That’s so cool, because no one’s legally required to recognize Therians as their chosen species or Kin people as their chosen fictional characters. It’d be considered kind of fucked up if a Witch came into Congress (lol) and a meeting was put to a stop because one member refused to acknowledge the existence of Nyx. If a Therian insisted on being in a dog pageant (because see, they legally changed their identity to dog. Because the government gave in to that belief because a small collection of them underwent surgery to more heavily resemble a dog to help their species dysphoria and the human government decided that it was more convenient to just say they’re dogs) and won because they can do dog tasks more easily, the reaction would be, ‘this is the dumbest thing imaginable.’
You guys don’t want spiritual weirdo comparisons, because the only thing spiritual weirdos get is vague acknowledgment and the ability to believe in whatever bullshit.
maladaptive daydreaming is more real than gender identity, and it’s a-okay to tell people to kill themselves
honestly - TERF arguments are entirely horseshit. they don’t care about science, they don’t really care about women’s safety. it’s a regressive alt right movement in the garb of a feminist
like i really hope you understand those people really really REALLY believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY that you can escape misogyny and oppression if you try hard enough. and if you can't, that's because of your lack of effort. it is your fault, your individual fault you're oppressed. don't ever think about reaching out to other women and helping each and fight against sexism together. do NOT gain class consciousness, only think about yourself. you're NOT like those weak women, they deserve the oppression but not you!!!!!!
… What do people even expect the answer to be when someone rejects them and they ask, ‘why?’ Because the ‘why’s’ going to hurt their feelings no matter what, it doesn’t feel good to not get what you want and all. It always happens too, people rarely go, ‘Will you go out with me?’ ‘Oh, no thank you’ ‘understandable have a nice day’ it’s usually ‘well why won’t you date me?’ What do they want from that? To be told they’re not attractive to the person? That they don’t share a lot of interests? There’s no answer that gets people into that, ‘understandable, have a nice day’ position… Part of me thinks it’s just to justify their anger over the situation. ‘I’m not mad that I was told no- I’m totally fine with being told no- but it’s kind of fucked up to not want to be in a relationship for <Any given reason> isn’t love supposed to be beyond that sort of thing?’
male civility is a facade.
Hey, as a black female I’m pretty sure you’re just using people like me as a prop but if you want a real answer, feel free to respond with a ‘sure’!
me: hey so uhhhh if being a woman must be experienced one certain way then how do you factor in women of colour or women from other countries into that?
radfem i have the displeasure of speaking to: shut up i'm not even going to reply to that go read a feminist book
I saw a vid of this girl talking about her complicated feelings about Botox that essentially boiled down to: 1. We don’t live in a vacuum, ageism is a thing, looking good means I get treated better and I should take advantage of that, but, 2. Me getting Botox reinforces beauty standards on other women, and even young girls.
And I just get so frustrated because this “nuance” was very well received, and it really feels like sooo many women are constantly choosing between “this is a way for ME to feel good/gain an advantage” and “this is what’s best for women as a collective” and the collective often loses. :/ I feel like a broken record but I really really want women to stop prioritizing “advantages” that ultimately hurt our gender as a class. There’s no way out with this framework.
This is a post on "Ethical pornography" I made in 2022. People love to use "ethical" and "choice" arguments, however these do not hold up against any scrutiny. And after seeing that pornhubs trending searches are often of war refugees or media that has been proven to be non-consential (Lana Rhodes), you could not make me believe for a second that the end viewer cares at all about the ethics involved.
You know what’s funny about that “‘masculinity is universally praised’ erm have you ever spoken to a butch woman?” Post? I don’t think a Radfem’s said that kind of shit- because it is stupid and does ignore the lived experience of gender nonconforming females to focus on theory. You know what did say that though? Whipping girl the Trans feminism book because it’s focus is on liberating femininity and most of it reads as terminally online despite being written in 2007
I have preestablished biases and beliefs about the world, I acknowledge that and am willing to adjust with new information shared.
