People are so determined to break the spirit of young people, particularly black people, who are achieving success and it’s very much rooted in jealousy.

People are so desperate to have a gotcha moment for Jude that they are forcing a negative narrative about him. They are so desperate to see him fail just so they can sit in their local pub and say I told you so.

They built him up from Dortmund to Madrid but when they saw wait, this little black boy might actually do incredible things they decided they need to humble him because they don’t want him to have “to much power”. They have to remind him who wields the whip.

They can’t stand to see a young man and particularly a young black man who is eloquent, focused, showing his talent & reaping the rewards of it. It irks them to not have something about him that they can feel is negative so they can feel better about themselves.

Pure “mean girl” energy.

One of the things that is pitiful to watch is persons harping on “he’s so PR trained” because he speaks clearly and directly. As if it’s so offensive for a young man, particularly a black young man to be able to formulate an idea in his brain and speak in fluid sentences. It’s another branch of they need to have something to humble him - he can’t be talented and intelligent because how will they, the people who are drowning in their own insecurities, feel better about themselves ?

Then we come to “forcing it” ; Imagine complaining that he gave a disabled child a jacket in the rain. Are we sure Jude is the villain in this story Ryan? But I know how this script goes, once you become their target - just like Raheem, Sterling & Saka there is nothing you can do right. If Jude didn’t give that child his jacket, they’d say he is cruel, when he does give the child - he’s a PR merchant.

“Hasn’t had a good game in 2024” meanwhile by the end of the 2024 season Jude while playing majority games has - won la liga, won the champions league, won la liga player of the year and was real Madrid’s top goal scorer. The people like that aren’t trying to give any real opinions on football they just want to break a man who is achieving unimaginable heights. When I first joined Tumblr, I was lost. I didn’t know what to expect, didn’t know if this was a space I could call home. When I read your work, I saw Black girls with wide smiles and wild curls, unafraid to take up space. I saw Black boys navigating their pain and triumphing over it. I saw queer Black love, soft Black love, fierce Black love. And I saw us thriving, not just surviving.

You gave me stories that said, “You belong here.” And that meant everything.

Your stories didn’t just give me representation; they gave me community. Through your words, I connected with people who understood what it means to feel invisible in spaces where you should be seen. People who share my love for these characters and who understand the joy of seeing ourselves in these worlds.

You showed me that fandom isn’t just about the media we consume it’s about the people we meet along the way. The way you build each other up, support one another, and create a space where Black voices shine is nothing short of extraordinary.

I didn’t just find stories on Tumblr. I found a family.

I know it’s not easy. Writing is hard. Posting your work for the world to see is even harder. Yet you do it anyway. You push through the doubt, the fear, the imposter syndrome, and you create. You write stories that make us laugh, cry, and feel seen.

I think about the late nights you spend revising, the time you dedicate to perfecting every scene, every line of dialogue. I think about how you manage to weave pieces of our culture our humor, our slang, our struggles into your stories so effortlessly. It’s art, and it’s real.

Your stories remind us that creativity is resistance. That writing Black characters who are loved, desired, and heroic is an act of defiance in a world that tries to diminish us. You’re not just writing fanfiction, you're making a statement: “We matter. We belong. We are worthy.”

As a 21-year-old Black woman, I can’t tell you how much your work has inspired me. You’ve shown me the beauty of our diversity, the depth of our experiences, and the endless possibilities of our stories. You’ve reminded me that Blackness is infinite.

you quietly follow him inside, gently closing the door behind you as you take off your shoes.

the air around you feels heavy, each step as if your legs would break off if you don’t sit down somewhere, even though you were not the one running around a football field for almost two hours.

your heart beats fast against your chest, so loud that you can feel it in your ears. having to witness all of this so closely just does something to you. it tests you in a way that you have never seen before.

your concerns are interrupted by your boyfriends loud groan echoing from the bathroom. without thinking too much, your legs already move towards him, his pain stabbing your heart. it didn’t matter what you would say to him, deep down he would still blame himself and his performance today, even though he gave it his all.

your eyes meet through the bathroom mirror, his eyes bloodshot and glassy, even if he is desperately trying to hold back his angry tears. his gaze moves towards his hands that he placed on the edge of the sink, his veins prominent than ever as the ruh of all the emotions have yet to fade away.

the thickness of the situation stays put, and you feel helpless as you do not know how to approach all of this. it usually as if this season made you forget about all those days where you spent hour to comfort him from all the loses from last season, all your tricks that you had to make the man of your life smile again.

“schatz…” your voice is soft as you approach him, eyes now focused on the back if his head, moving down his long neck to his broad shoulders and back. your hands gently touch his waist, rubbing it before circling his torso with your arms. your cheek is pressed against his muscular back and you sigh as you feel him exhale deeply.

“it was so unnecessary, like, i know that we could’ve done better than that..” he speaks up for the first time in a while, his voice raspy and rather shaky.

you feel his warm hand resting against your that is on his stomach, his grip on it firm. you press a small kiss against his shoulder blade, lifting one hand to massage the hair from behind.

“that’s what comes with the game, schatz. you knew it would happen.”

“but not during the final, fuck.” he shakes his head in disbelief, scoffing as he replays all the wrongs he did during the game.

your heart breaks a little more as you watch him blame himself for the loss, the feeling of helplessness taking place inside.

“you have one trophy left, though, no?” you try to remind him, watching him carefully as he turns around to face you.

florian leans against the bathroom counter, jaw clenched as his eyes stay focused on your hands holding his. he nods, a new kind of determination burning through his veins.

“yeah, we’ll show them that this won’t set us back.”

you feel him squeeze your hands two times, ‘thank you’ in your guys’ own way.

you warmly smile up at him, relieved that he somehow managed to deal with the loss in a mature and healthy way.

“you know, it’s okay to cry, yeah?” you remind him, chuckling as you see him roll his eyes.

“ja ja, i’ll cry if i need to and i’ll come to you if i ever need a hug.” he smiles back, thankful for your presence during this moment.

and florian knew that he met a one of a kind person with you, someone to lift his spirits and remind him if his hard work whenever he doubts himself.

you, his safe haven, his home and just his forever person.
