the adam and gansey mutual derangement is incredible. adam terrified of being owned by gansey in the raven boys. "fuck you, gansey. fuck you." gansey terrified he's losing adam in the dream thieves. so estranged by their contexts and alien to one another that every time they talk, they accidentally hurt the other — but unwilling to let go anyways. adam realizing he doesn't want gansey's hope to be broken-in by the world. gansey finally understanding adam in the raven king. you just had to be there.
