Honestly, I like to think kusuo's fucked-upness reflects on his body in mundane and unexpected ways too. Like, no, it isn't normal or health that you can dis and relocate your joints with minimal effort. It's also not normal to get daily migraines. Every cardiac alert dog within your vicinity thinks you're dying.

Some personal design notes I made for comics speech bubbles and on dialogue!
Conclusions were drawn from their dialogue sounds and manner of speech in general in addition to my personal flair and interpretation.
And here's an incomplete list of mental notes on actually writing dialogue for characters:
Curly
expresses genuinely what he feels and what he means, though he's reserved and leaves a lot unsaid
casually playful and whimsical when talking to others or commenting on things
smooth talker
speaks delicately and de-escalatory when faced with a stressful situation
using british slang on occasion, yeah?
Anya
often encouraging or reassuring those she talks to
teasing, witty and playful with anyone not named jimmy
stutters when speaking to those named jimmy but outside of that, speaks smoothly with enthusiasm
speaks with implications, basically says iconic deep meaningful shit in a non-direct way
Swansea
mean, harsh, sarcastic and taunting
like anya, he says some deep shit but in a poetic and direct way
reminds me of Disco Elysium dialogue in terms of vibes
speaks grandiosely
" ain't, goin', el capitano, downstairs longnose, hear hear, ol' codger, rumb-a-tumblin' " very fun to write
Daisuke
unfocused, emphasizes words, informal
speaks at the same time as he thinks, most of his dialogue feels like a stream of thoughts
filler words like, totally like everywhere man
Jimmy
dry, spiteful and bitter remarks, always sounds like he's annoyed at everything
no whimsical or heartfelt comments about anything
uses metaphors and veils his words, spinning them in ways to fit his goals. twists his own words as well as others'
steals phrases from others
persuasive

based on a Real Conversation i had
dialogue under cut in case you can't read my terrible rushed handwriting
Panel #1 Knife: So is tea vegan broth, or is broth meat tea? Taco: WHAT KIND OF CONVERSATION STARTER IS THAT?! Microphone: Both of those names sound TERRIBLE.
Panel #2 Taco: I mean, broth isn't tea because tea is made with plants. And I'm pretty sure broth needs to be cooked in stock.
Panel #3: Microphone: But the meat's just soaked in hot water, that's how broth is made, right? It's tea in the sense that it's been cooked in hot water.
Panel #4: Taco: That's just boiling. The definition of tea specifically is boiled plant, not boiled meat. By that logic, you could say hard-boiled eggs or plain boiled water are considered 'tea' as well. Microphone: I mean like technically that's Egg Tea? Taco: NO.
Panel #5: Knife: Counter Argument: If the thing boils AND affects the water, it's tea. Taco: But with THAT logic, you could say something like PASTA WATER is tea!
Panel #6: Microphone: Pasta water IS tea. Taco: It is NOT a fucking tea! Knife: It's a soup.
Panel #7 Microphone: Well I guess soup is just tea with extra ingredients... Taco: Soup usually has meat or vegetables though.
Panel #8 Microphone: But you can add stuff like sugar and honey and cream into tea! Knife: Do YOU add sweet stuff into your soup? Microphone (in the background): SUGAR IN SOUP IS NORMAL! Taco (in the background): I beg to differ.
Panel #9 Pickle: Wait so is hotdog water tea or- Knife, Taco, & Microphone (with varying expressions): NO

Fun fact about this piece: on bluesky, the unspilled mouthwash version has more likes than the original 😭😭 the people yearn for happy and wholesome stuff
Snowboarding with the Tulpar crew ❄️🏂💊
Since finding out Curly is snow sport kinda guy and winter is also coming jsjs why not draw Curly taking the whole crew for a snowboarding trip 😩👏 Well in my head this is Anya and Daisuke first time going while Curly and Jimmy already know how to skate 🏂 Swansea is not fond of sport so he just tags along hdjdjd 💜
Also designing all the outfits for them and choosing the colors ahh destroyed my back 🙏 I have a thing for snow outfits hehe but where im there is no winter so no chance to wear them 😔
