I had a furby as a kid and I blinded it using a laser pointer because I was scared it would watch me. But then it thought it was dark at all times so it would scream and say "help! It so dark!"
Reddit user 1: I had a furby that I loved dearly, one of the original ones from when it was a huge fad. One day I held it upside down and it said "wHoaAAA! me scared!" then immediately died and never worked again : (

Reddit user 2: Murderer
I had one from the 2010's which had multiple different
"personalities" depending on how you treated them, one of these personalities was an evil one which if memory serves correct it just sung "smoke on the water" in the furby language. My mom would call it
"darth vader mode" and it freaked the hell out of me caused i was scared of Darth Vader. I also couldn't figure out for the life of me how the emotion mechanic worked so the furby was stuck in darth vader mode for a while and when I did manage to turn it good again from my child POV the furby randomly turned evil. Later in my life when i was 15-16 i skinned the furby
My sister had an original in the early 2000's. It scared her so my parents put it in the basement. That night, it went fucking nuts babbling and unfortunately my parents left it too close to the vent and it echoed up into my room.
Fucking terrified me. My parents found me under my blankets screaming for the voices to stop.

It's so fucking funny how many people who owned Furbies as children ended up being traumatized by them in some way

The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (UK) posted this to their Facebook page today:

We are very excited to announce our NEW RECOGNISED BREED - The Transylvanian! 🤩

'Indigenous to the woodlands and forests around the Carpathian Mountain areas of Romania and Hungary, the Transylvanian cat is the most recently discovered natural breed in the world.

They have fascinating features such as the reverse Karparti coat, born white, over the first 12 months the kitten grows a black, blue or sometimes a red coat whilst leaving the points of the ears, nose and paws white. Basically a reverse point! The Transylvanian is thermal too, being lighter in summer and darker in winter.

The foundation breeders led by Beverly Elian (WCF Judge) are based in Romania, Hungary, Switzerland and in the UK with Stuart & Amanda Brass.

Extensive testing has occurred on all four generations supported by Leslie Lyons and it appears the breed is robust with no genetic or hereditary issues appearing in any of the litters.'

Not seen and heard enough? You can see our newly recognised Transylvanian at the Feline Fair! Buy your tickets here - https://tinyurl.com/5dm7kp9a! 🎟️

"Here are some fun doodles of all my OCs!!"

Why are they all thin?

"Here are my fashion sketches inspired by my favorite toothpastes"

Why are they all thin?

"Here are the my favorite viddy game characters!"

Why are they all thin?

"Look, I made a gifset of my otp, brotp, notp, hoetp..."

Why are they all thin?

"Let me introduce you to my favorite artist, they have an instagram!"

Why is all their art of thin people?

"I'm working an obnoxious ~relatable~ four panel weekly comic strip about my life, check it out!"

Why are all the people in it thin? Do you never meet fat people?

"These are my top 10 fave shows on netflix!"

Why are there only thin characters across all of those?

"Lol I drew mushrooms as people, fungisonas, look!"

WHY are they all thin?!?!

"I'm taking consensual street photos of fashionable people in a megapolis city like New York or Paris, here's the best 500 from the last year"

WHY ARE ALL OF THEM THIN?!?!

I beg you. Please. Please start seeing it. Keep asking that question until you see. Then ask it harder. Question your favorite creators, your favorite media, your favorite artists, your favorite self. Why are they all thin?

“Psychologists often find that parents treat baby girls and boys differently, despite an absence of any discernible differences in the babies’ behaviour or abilities. One study, for example, found that mothers conversed and interacted more with girl babies and young toddlers, even when they were as young as six months old. This was despite the fact that boys were no less responsive to their mother’s speech and were no more likely to leave their mother’s side. As the authors suggest, this may help girls learn the higher level of social interaction expected of them, and boys the greater independence. Mothers are also more sensitive to changes in facial expressions of happiness when an unfamiliar six-month-old baby is labelled as a girl rather than a boy, suggesting that their gendered expectations affect their perception of babies’ emotions. Gendered expectations also seem to bias mothers’ perception of their infants’ physical abilities. Mothers were shown an adjustable sloping walkway, and asked to estimate the steepness of slope their crawling eleven-month-old child could manage and would attempt. Girls and boys differed in neither crawling ability nor risk taking when it came to testing them on the walkway. But mothers underestimated girls and over-estimated boys – both in crawling ability and crawling attempts – meaning that in the real world they might often wrongly think their daughters incapable of performing or attempting some motor feats, and equally erroneously think their sons capable of others. As infants reach the toddler and preschool years, researchers find that mothers talk more to girls than to boys, and that they talk about emotions differently to the two sexes – and in a way that’s consistent with (and sometimes helps to create the truth of) the stereotyped belief that females are the emotion experts.”
