For the next several days, Yours and Chris’s phones didn’t seem to stop ringing. They were overloaded with notifications. Your went from 1,000 followers to over 10,000 in just a few days. Everything seemed so surreal.
You waited for a million ugly comments to start rolling in, but they never did. Of course, there were some, but it was nothing compared to what you were expecting. It was a relief for you and Chris.
His fans seemed to be responding well to the the news, and that was important. People started to post their congratulations to you both, making your heart swell. Even his co-stars and fellow actors were posting congratulations.
You, Olivia, and Chris were back in L.A. and finally things seemed to be calming down. You and Chris were on the couch while Olivia played in the floor.
“Don’t you think you should be finding a wedding planner?” Chris asked.
You turn your head to look at him. “I’ll do it tomorrow.” You laughed softly.
Chris looked at you. “Where do you think we should have the wedding?”
“I don’t know. I think it depends on how many people we want to invite.” You told him. “Because if we keep it small, just family and really close friends then we can have it wherever, but if you want to go big then I would say either in Boston or Atlanta.”
Chris nodded. “I was thinking just family and close friends. Like Scarlett, Robert, Chris, Renner, Mackie, Seb and a few other people for me. And of course who ever your close friends are.”
You laughed a little. “We kind of share the same close friends. My invites will be family.”
“I guess you’re right.” He laughed.
“What if we had it in your mom’s backyard?” You sat up and looked at Chris. “It is plenty big enough and it’s so pretty.”
“If that’s what you want to do then let’s do it!” He smiled.
The next day you called around and found a great wedding planner out of Boston, her name was Jessica Jones. She told you that she was honored to be yours and Chris’s wedding planner.
You told her that you and Chris wanted to do it in his mom’s backyard, and she thought that was the sweetest and cutest idea.
Jessica said she didn’t want to get to into the planning just yet because she wanted to meet with you and Chris first. You, of course, had to get back with her on a date that you and Chris could get back to Boston.
You went to talk to Chris about when he would be free to go back.
“Why don’t we just move to Boston?” He groaned from the couch.
“Are you serious or just complaining?” You raised your eyebrow at him.
“We could by a house and move then when we get married we can just go home and not worry about flying back here to L.A. where we still live in separate apartments.” Chris went on.
“Ok.” You said. Chris looked at you shocked that you agreed so easily to his statement that was really supposed to be a complaint. “You make some valid points.” You shrugged.
“Ok then.” He laughed. “We are moving to Boston!”
“We are moving to Boston!” You smiled at him.
Chris picked up Olivia. “Do you want to move to Boston?” He asked her.
Olivia clapped and wiggled in his arms. “I think that’s a yes.” You smiled.
You and Chris had lots of details to work through over the next several days. You decided to keep Chris’s apartment in L.A. so, if you were in town, you didn’t have to fuss with a hotel.
As you started to look at you work schedule to see when would be best to make another trip to Boston, you noticed an email from the Marvel Executives. You were confused. You never emailed them directly, that was always your boss of the stunt company you worked for. You showed Chris the unopened email.
“Well, open it.” He said.
You opened it and began to read through it. “No way!” You whispered in utter shock.
“What?” Chris looked over you shoulder.
“They are offering me a job as a full time stunt coordinator for upcoming Marvel projects!” You excitedly told him.
“That’s great baby!” Chris smiled and kissed your head. “Are you going to take it?” He asked.
“I’d be crazy not to!” You looked up at him. “They are offering to pay me triple what I make now.”
You stood up from your desk and wrapped your arms around Chris. “Everything that is happening right now is just so unreal.” You smiled widely at him. “I mean, we are engaged, we are planning to move across the country, and now I get an amazing job offer.”
Chris rubbed his hands up and down your back. “I know baby, a lot has happened in just a few weeks.” He leaned down and pecked your lips.
You couldn’t have been more happy in that moment if you tried. You were marrying your best friend, moving and were going to accept an amazing job offer.
It took some planning, but you and Chris finally had your schedules arranged so you were able to make a trip to Boston to do two things. The first was to meet with Jessica and start planning. The second was meeting with a realtor to look at some a few houses in Boston and the surrounding areas. You left Olivia with Lisa while you two were out.
You met Jessica at her office one morning. She greeted you when you walked through the door.
“Hi, it’s great to finally meet you two!” Jessica shook both yours and Chris’s hand then lead you into a private meeting room. “Ok, I know since your time here is limited, I’ve got a lot for us to go over. And we aren’t in a rush, you two are my only clients for the day.”
You sat down at the large conference table that was covered with lots of things, magazines, fabrics, color swatches, and much more. It was a little overwhelming at first glance for both you and Chris, but as Jessica started explaining, the feelings of being overwhelmed started to dissipate.
“Ok, first thing we need is a date.” Jessica said as she opened a large binder. “Now obviously, if you plan to do the ceremony and reception outside, we need a warmer month.”
You and Chris discussed and decided to have the wedding in September. The weather was warm, but not too hot and it definitely wouldn’t be freezing. From there the details fell into place. You picked the color scheme, an invitation design, the flowers, an arch way for the ceremony, and lots more. The biggest details left to decide were the cake, the menu for the reception, your dress, bridesmaid’s dress, and the tuxes.
By the time your meeting with Jessica was finished, it was well into the afternoon. You and Chris decided to grab a bite to eat before heading back to his mom’s house.
You went into a small Italian restaurant. The hostess seated you at a table and handed you menus. Before either of you can open your menus, a little boy, around five years old runs over to your table.
“You’re Captain America!” He exclaimed. “You are my favorite, after Falcon!” The boy said with a grin.
You couldn’t help the small giggle that escaped when the boy said Falcon was his #1 favorite.
Chris glanced at you then back to the boy. “Well, I will make sure Falcon knows that I met his #1 fan today.” Chris said with a smile.
Before their conversation could continue, the boy’s mom rushed over. “I am so sorry!” She apologized.
“Mama, look it’s Captain America!” He smiled up at his mom.
“I see, but we have to let him enjoy his meal with his friend.” She told him. She apologized one more time before she began to walk away.
“Wait, why don’t we take a picture before you go?” Chris offered.
The mother turned around. “That’s really not necessary. I hate to bother you anymore.”
“Nonsense, I insist.” Chris stood and picked the boy up and allowed for his mom to take a quick picture.
“Thank you so much, and again I’m so sorry he ran over here.” She said one last time before they walked away.
“You are great with kids, you know that right?” You questioned Chris as he picked up his menu.
“Yeah, I’ve been told I have a way with children.” He smiled.
The rest of you lunch was peaceful. You went back to Lisa’s house and spent what was left of your day lounging around.
The next morning, you met with a realtor to look at a few houses in and around the Boston area. When you talked with the realtor, you and Chris both told him you didn’t want to be in the middle of town.
The realtor showed you several houses, but most of them were in packed neighborhoods where there was only ten feet between two houses.
Finally, the last house he showed you and Chris was out from town and not squished between two other houses. It was in a new neighborhood, that only had a few other houses, but the closest one was a quarter of a mile. It had plenty of room and space. The house was large, with an open concept. It was two stories, stained wood floors, tall ceilings, marble counter tops, built in appliances, five bedrooms, five and a half baths, with an office space, and a three car garage. It was perfect.
After touring the house, you looked up at Chris. He could see it in your eyes that you were in love with the house, and he was too.
Chris turned to the realtor. “We’ll take it!” He smiled.
After finishing up with the realtor, you felt as if you were on cloud nine. Chris could tell by looking at you. It was as if you were glowing. You were in your own little bubble of happiness.
Before leaving Boston, you took Olivia back to the house, just to show her around. You put her down and let her walk around the empty house. She babbled as she walked around the first floor.
Chris wrapped his arms around you as you both watched Olivia. “I think she likes it.” He whispered in your ear then kissed your neck softly.
“I think so too.” You smiled. You giggled softly feeling Chris’s beard against your neck. “Now, I just can’t wait to be here.”
“Me either.” Chris agreed. “Not much longer.”
Once Christmas passed, you started the moving process. You packed up your apartment then packed up parts of Chris’s. It took about a week to get everything boxed up and shipped to Boston. Once everything was shipped and all the ends were tied up in L.A., you headed for Boston to start a new chapter.

Summary: You just want to be Bucky’s friend though you may have a small crush. If you could just be friends that would be enough
Warnings: None.......idk.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
A/N: this idea came from my asks and it originally was supposed to be fun and fluffy and then i started writing and it turned into an angst party. The link for the dress wouldn’t work so i put a picture of it in the story.
Your relationship with Sargent Barnes is anything but friendly, which is why he is Sargent Barnes, only his friends can call him Bucky. You have tried everything you know to just be a friend to him, even though you may have slight crush on the metal armed man.
You didn’t want your friendship to be forced, so you just started by smiling and saying good morning. He never returns the smile or good morning. You try several more things, but nothing seems to work.
Your next attempt is making him cookies that Steve told you were his favorite, and that they used to get them from a bakery back in the 40s. Steve tells you the name of the bakery, and it just so happens to be the bakery your grandmother worked at when she was young.
You bake a dozen cookies and arrange them on a plate. You walk down the hall to Sgt. Barnes room, knowing he is inside, since he just finished his workout for the day.
You knock on the door and wait. The door is pulled open, and a slight smile crosses Bucky’s face when he sees the plate of cookies. The smile quickly fades when he hears your voice.
“Hey Sargent Barnes! Umm, I made you some cookies. Steve might have let it slip that these are your favorite, so I called my grandmother and got her recipe. She worked at a bakery in the 40s and 50s.” You explain to him.
The look of annoyance on his face only seems to grow as you stand there. “Why would you bring me cookies after I just finished a workout?” He asks, obviously angered by your gesture.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I guess that thought didn’t cross my mind. I just thought with your super soldier metabolism one cookie wouldn’t do too much damage.” You look down at the plate sadly. “I’ll just go then. If you want one, the plate will be in the kitchen.”
You turn and walk back to the kitchen, tears brimming your eyes. You place the plate of cookies on the cabinet just as Sam, Nat, and Steve enter the kitchen after their workouts.
“Oh yes! Cookies!” Sam cheers. He glances at you as to ask for permission. You nod in response.
“Why so sad?” Steve asks. “I’ve never seen someone so sad after baking cookies. Wait! Are those Bucky’s favorite?”
“Yeah.” You reply quietly. “After you told me what bakery you two would get them from, I called my grandmother for the recipe.”
“Y/N, these are amazing!” Sam compliments, bringing a small smile to your face.
Steve reaches over and grabs one. He hums in approval. “Agreed! Takes me back to being a kid in Brooklyn.”
You laugh softly. “Well, now I have to have one!” Natasha grabs one and takes a bite. She closes her eyes as she appreciates the taste of the cookie. “Oh wow!”
~~~~~~~~~
Bucky watches as you walk away. He notices the change in your posture. When he opened the door you had a big smile and you stood tall, now your shoulders were hunched and he knew you definitely weren’t smiling.
He shuts his door and groans out of frustration. Bucky has never hated you in the slightest. He was instantly drawn to you from the moment he saw you, but also in that moment, he decided that he didn’t deserve love or friendship from anyone other than Steve and Sam, if that. He also thought your friendship was you pitying him.
When he saw the tray of cookies, he really did want one, but then he realized it was you and he had to keep up the act. So, he was rude until you went away.
On the inside, Bucky’s heart broke at the sight of you when apologized for offering him a cookie. He knew the plate of cookies wouldn’t do an ounce of damage with his metabolism, but he had to keep being a jerk. You didn’t really want to be his friend. Well, that’s at least what he told himself.
~~~~~~
The rest of the afternoon is spent with Sam, Steve and Nat. They beg you to bake more cookies and to share the recipe.
“I can’t give you the recipe! My grandmother would kill me!” You laugh as you pull another tray of cookies from the oven.
“But what if you’re gone on a mission, and we really want cookies?” Sam leans against the counter with a pout on his face.
“You will just have to wait until I get back!” You place the baking sheet on the stove.
All three of them groan. You can’t help but laugh more. Once all four of you finish eating cookies, the leftovers are covered by plastic wrap.
After a few more hours of hanging out, everyone goes their separate ways. You head to your room for the night. You pass Bucky’s door and you pause for just a second. You mind races with the thoughts of what you could have done to make him hate you so much. The sound of the door opening has you running the rest of the way to your room.
Bucky walks out of his room and heads to the kitchen. His plan is just to get some water then go back to his room.
After grabbing a bottle of water, he turns to leave and sees the plate of cookies on the counter. Of course they weren’t the ones you originally made, but he didn’t know the difference.
Bucky looks to see if anyone is around. He quickly undoes the plastic wrap and grabs one.
“It really won’t do any damage.” He whispers to himself.
He bites into the cookie. He is instantly taken back to being in the 40s. How could they taste exactly the same?
Bucky can’t help himself, he takes three more cookies and hurries back to his room.
The next morning, you go into the kitchen to make breakfast. You notice that there are more cookies missing. Steve and Natasha are sitting at the table eating.
“Do you guys eat cookies for breakfast?” You ask with a chuckle.
“No, I haven’t had any since last night.” Nat responds.
“Same here.” Steve says.
“Hmm, maybe Sam got some.” You shrug and start fixing your breakfast.
While you are making your breakfast, everyone gets an alert to meet in the conference room. You sigh and stop what you’re doing to follow Nat and Steve to the conference room.
You take a seat inside the conference room next to Wanda. Once every has a seat, Tony starts going over the mission that most of the team will be gone on for the next few days.
“I’m sorry, but Y/n and metal man,” He says referring to Bucky. “your abilities will not be needed for this mission.” Tony states.
You just nod as you continue to listen. It truly isn’t a big deal to you, but Bucky isn’t too thrilled with Tony’s statement.
“So you’re telling me, I have to stay here with her?” He questions while giving you an annoyed look. You lower your gaze to the floor and sink into your chair.
“Barnes, I honestly don’t care what you do while we are gone. Just make sure you are reachable in case of an emergency.” Tony says as he places his tablet down.
Tony wraps up the meeting. Bucky is the first to stand up. He storms out of the room. Steve gives you an apologetic look as he walks by.
“Did I do something?” You ask sadly.
“No, you didn’t. He is just a difficult person.” Steve says before going in search of his friend.
You sigh and stand up to go back to the kitchen to finish your breakfast. The team would be getting ready to leave the rest of the day so no one was going to be around other than Bucky.
Before you can leave the conference room, Wanda and Nat stop you.
“Y/N, don’t give up just yet.” Nat says. “I know you want to, but I say give it one more big try then if he still won’t come around then you can try to move on.”
~~~~~~~~~
Steve leaves the conference room and goes to find his best friend. The last place he expects to find him is in the kitchen with a handful of the cookies you made.
Steve clears his throat to get Bucky’s attention. Bucky looks like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar, which technically is exactly what’s happening
“You know you’re kind of a jerk, right?” Steve asks rhetorically.
Bucky puts the cookies back on the tray and finishes eating the one in his mouth.
“She has done absolutely nothing but try and be nice to you! Hell, if I were her, I would have given up a long time ago.”
Bucky looks down at the ground. “I don’t understand why she wants to be my friend. I mean she’s just trying to pity me!”
“Wow! I guess you’ve kept all the stupid with you.” Steve rolls his eyes. “She’s not pitying you! She truly wants to be your friend. That’s just who Y/N is. She sees past every flaw a person has, she is kind, she is loyal to a fault, and she can make some really good cookies.” Steve goes on.
At that moment, Bucky feels like the biggest douche on the planet.
“And I’ve been the biggest jerk to her since I got here.” Bucky looks at Steve, who silently agrees with him.
“Try and do better while the rest of us are gone.” Steve pats Bucky on the shoulder before he walks away to pack for the mission.
Bucky goes back to his room to think. He knows he has to apologize.
~~~~~~~~~
You get into the kitchen and finish your breakfast. After you eat, you do your laundry, go for a quick workout then decide to relax for the rest of the day.
The team leaves around 10 at night, so after they’ve left, you head to your room for the night. While you’re in bed, you start thinking of one final attempt to show Bucky you truly want to be a part of his life.
The next day you make sure to avoid Bucky at all cost so you can execute your final act. You even ask F.R.I.D.A.Y where he is to make sure you don’t see him. You spent almost the entire night trying to come up with a plan. Finally, at 2:30 a.m. you decided on a plan. You are going to make him his favorite meal and wear a dress that resembles that of one from the 40s. You tried to learn some slang from the time period but it was much to confusing for you.
After eating breakfast, you leave the compound to go into the city. You stop by a small clothing boutique then you swing by the grocery store. Once you finish you head back to the compound.
You get back to the compound and head straight to the kitchen.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., where is Sargent Barnes?” You ask the AI as you chop vegetables.
“He left the compound about an hour ago, Ms. Y/L/N.” She informs you.
“Oh, did he say where he was going?” You ask.
“No, he did not. Would you like me to run a trace on him?” The AI asks.
“No, thank you.”
You continue on in the kitchen until everything is done or in the oven. You glance down at your watch and see that it is almost 6 o’clock. You are hoping Bucky will be back soon. You head to your room to clean up and wait for Bucky.
You quickly shower, throw on your new dress, put on a little make-up and fix your hair.
You slide on a pair of sandals and head back to the kitchen to get everything out of the oven. You set the table while everything is cooling off. Once everything is cool enough to handle, you place all the food on the table.
You look down at your watch and it is a quarter to seven,
“Surely he will be back soon.” You think to your self as you sit down at the table.
You wait and wait. You stare at the platters on the table, filled with untouched food. The last time you check your watch it is 9 o’clock. You sigh and lay your head down on the table. Tears start to build up and drip down on to the table. Your emotions are running wild and eventually just drain you. You feel yourself falling asleep, but you don’t bother making a move to get up.
It’s a quarter to a eleven when Bucky steps off the elevator into the common room. His super sense of smell picks up the lingering scent of his favorite meal. Bucky walks around the room until the dining table comes into view. He sees the table filled with food that has long gone cold and a chocolate cake on a decorative cake stand that reminds him of the cake his mother would make.
The next thing he spots is your slumped figure against the table. He takes in your appearance, the pink linen dress, pearl earrings, a small amount of make that has been ruined by tears.
His mind is running a thousand miles a minute. You did this all for him, and he had to go and mess it all up. He left the compound to meet with his therapist and think about what he could do to make it up to you. And now he knows whatever plan he came up with will never make up for this.
He gently scoops you up from your chair and starts carrying you to your room.
“Bucky?” You whisper.
“Yeah, doll, it’s me.” He confirms.
In your half asleep state, you begin to cry again. “I’m sorry Sargent Barnes, for whatever I’ve done. I just wanted to be your friend and- and-” You sob into his neck.
He makes it to your room and walks inside. He pulls back the covers of your neatly made bed and lays you down. Once Bucky lays you down, you go back to sleep. Bucky takes your shoes off, takes out the pearl studs, and wipes your smeared make-up off.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N. I’ll never be able to make it up to you.” He leans down and kisses your forehead before leaving the room.
He sends Steve a message once he gets back to the common room. “I messed up big time.”
