It was the night before your wedding day. You always thought you would be nervous and stressed the night before your wedding, but you were the complete opposite. You felt happy and relaxed. You trusted that Jessica had everything done for the big day.  You, Scarlett, Rose and Olivia were having a relaxing night at Lisa’s.

You asked Scarlett to be your only bridesmaid and Rose to be a flower girl with Olivia. Chris asked Scott to be his best man and his nephew, Miles, to be the ring bearer.

You chose to spend the night at Lisa’s and let Chris and Scott have your house. You were just hoping it was in one piece when you got back.

Olivia was nearing two years old, and you couldn’t believe it. She talked non-stop, it didn’t always make since but that didn’t stop her. Olivia had started calling Chris, dada.

~Flashback~

You finish unpacking the last box and sigh in relief. Chris comes up with Olivia in his arms. “Mama!” She reaches for you.

You smile and take her from Chris. When you look at Chris, you realize Olivia has never called him anything. As the wheels in your head turn, you start to wonder if Olivia should call him dad. Chris is the only father figure Olivia has, to you, it only makes sense that she should call him dad.

“Chris, don’t you think we should be teaching her to call you something?” You ask him.

“Yeah, I guess. What were you thinking? Like just Chris or?” He looks down at you.

“I was thinking more along the lines of daddy, but it’s up to you.” You smile.

It takes a second for it to register in Chris’s head what you just said. “Wait! You mean it? You would be ok with her calling me that?”

“You’re basically already her dad. You act like it.” You say with a laugh.

“Then yes, she can totally call me daddy.” He leans down and kisses you then kisses Olivia’s cheeks.

“Livie, can you say Dada?” You look at her. “Da-da.” You point to Chris.

She giggles. “Daaaada!”

Chris smiles widely and takes her from you kissing her all over her face.

~end flashback~

It was finally the morning of the wedding, you woke up with small feeling of anxiousness. People started going in and out of the house starting at 8 o’clock that morning. It was some what chaotic.

Lisa brought breakfast to you, Scarlett, and the girls. You all sat in the queen sized bed eating French toast, fruit, and bacon.

Jessica hired a photographer, and she was there taking pictures of you and the girls enjoying your breakfast. You watched as she took a picture of Olivia shoving a strawberry in her mouth. You laughed and couldn’t wait to have all these pictures to look back on.

The ceremony wasn’t until 5 in the evening. It was just passed nine when Jessica showed up. You went down stairs to meet her.

“Are you ready?” She asked with a beaming smile.

“So ready!” You smiled.

She started talking you through everything that was happening and what was supposed to arrive at what time. You watched as Lisa’s backyard was set up for the day. It was better than anything you could have ever dreamed.

image

Just before lunch, your parents walked into the house. Your mom wrapped you up in a hug and squeezed you. You then hugged your dad. Your anxiousness was lessening now that your mom was there.

The hair stylist and makeup artist arrived to start on all the girls. Your mom, and Lisa were first then they went to get dressed. After them, it was Scarlett, then Rose and Olivia. Scarlett took Rose and Olivia to get dressed while you were getting ready.

image

Once you were finished with your hair and makeup, Scarlett came back in to help you put on your dress. She helped you into your dress and then helped you with your jewelry.

Scarlett stepped back to look at you. “Wow!” She smiled at you. “You look stunning!”

Your smile was beaming across your face. You stepped in front of the mirror and gasped. You were amazed at how everything came together.

image

After taking yourself in, you were ready to show everyone. Scarlett walked in front of you and opened the door to let your parents in.

Your mother was in awe. She started to cry as well as your dad, which in turn made you tear up. Your mom gently wiped your tears before kissing your cheeks.

Finally, it was time. All 30 guest had arrived and were seated. Soft music was playing as Chris went down the aisle. Once he was at the end, he took a breath to steady his nerves. You may not have been nervous, but Chris was. Chris just wanted to be married to you.

Scarlett and Scott were next. Miles walked down with the rings and stood next to Scott. Rose and Olivia walked down the aisle sprinkling flower petals. Once they made it down the aisle and stood by Scarlett the music changed. Everyone stood and waited for your entrance.

The back doors opened, revealing you and your dad. Chris immediately teared up. You were stunning. He turned away to wipe his tears then looked back at you. You smiled at him with all the love in the world. There was nowhere else you would have wanted to be.

Your dad gave you away to Chris. “You look beautiful!” Chris whispered in your ear.

“Not to shabby yourself!” You replied.

The ceremony continued on. Chris said his vows and slipped the diamond band onto your finger. You did the same and slipped a silver band onto his.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife!” The officiant smiled. “You may now kiss the bride!”

Chris pulled you into him and kissed you sweetly. The kiss lasted for a few seconds while everyone cheered. You both pull away with beaming smiles.

“I love you, Mr. Evans!” You whispered to him.

“I love you more, Mrs. Evans!” He pecked your lips one more time before, he scooped up Olivia and you all exited down the aisle.

Sometimes gifts are better when they are unexpected.

For the next several days, Yours and Chris’s phones didn’t seem to stop ringing. They were overloaded with notifications. Your went from 1,000 followers to over 10,000 in just a few days. Everything seemed so surreal.

You waited for a million ugly comments to start rolling in, but they never did. Of course, there were some, but it was nothing compared to what you were expecting. It was a relief for you and Chris.

His fans seemed to be responding well to the the news, and that was important. People started to post their congratulations to you both, making your heart swell. Even his co-stars and fellow actors were posting congratulations.

You, Olivia, and Chris were back in L.A. and finally things seemed to be calming down. You and Chris were on the couch while Olivia played in the floor.

“Don’t you think you should be finding a wedding planner?” Chris asked.

You turn your head to look at him. “I’ll do it tomorrow.” You laughed softly.

Chris looked at you. “Where do you think we should have the wedding?”

“I don’t know. I think it depends on how many people we want to invite.” You told him. “Because if we keep it small, just family and really close friends then we can have it wherever, but if you want to go big then I would say either in Boston or Atlanta.”

Chris nodded. “I was thinking just family and close friends. Like Scarlett, Robert, Chris, Renner, Mackie, Seb and a few other people for me. And of course who ever your close friends are.”

You laughed a little. “We kind of share the same close friends. My invites will be family.”

“I guess you’re right.” He laughed.

“What if we had it in your mom’s backyard?” You sat up and looked at Chris. “It is plenty big enough and it’s so pretty.”

“If that’s what you want to do then let’s do it!” He smiled.

The next day you called around and found a great wedding planner out of Boston, her name was Jessica Jones. She told you that she was honored to be yours and Chris’s wedding planner.

You told her that you and Chris wanted to do it in his mom’s backyard, and she thought that was the sweetest and cutest idea.

Jessica said she didn’t want to get to into the planning just yet because she wanted to meet with you and Chris first. You, of course, had to get back with her on a date that you and Chris could get back to Boston.

You went to talk to Chris about when he would be free to go back.

“Why don’t we just move to Boston?” He groaned from the couch.

“Are you serious or just complaining?” You raised your eyebrow at him.

“We could by a house and move then when we get married we can just go home and not worry about flying back here to L.A. where we still live in separate apartments.” Chris went on.

“Ok.” You said. Chris looked at you shocked that you agreed so easily to his statement that was really supposed to be a complaint. “You make some valid points.” You shrugged.

“Ok then.” He laughed. “We are moving to Boston!”

“We are moving to Boston!” You smiled at him.

Chris picked up Olivia. “Do you want to move to Boston?” He asked her.

Olivia clapped and wiggled in his arms. “I think that’s a yes.” You smiled.

You and Chris had lots of details to work through over the next several days. You decided to keep Chris’s apartment in L.A. so, if you were in town, you didn’t have to fuss with a hotel.

As you started to look at you work schedule to see when would be best to make another trip to Boston, you noticed an email from the Marvel Executives. You were confused. You never emailed them directly, that was always your boss of the stunt company you worked for. You showed Chris the unopened email.

“Well, open it.” He said.

You opened it and began to read through it. “No way!” You whispered in utter shock.

“What?” Chris looked over you shoulder.

“They are offering me a job as a full time stunt coordinator for upcoming Marvel projects!” You excitedly told him.

“That’s great baby!” Chris smiled and kissed your head. “Are you going to take it?” He asked.

“I’d be crazy not to!” You looked up at him. “They are offering to pay me triple what I make now.”

You stood up from your desk and wrapped your arms around Chris. “Everything that is happening right now is just so unreal.” You smiled widely at him. “I mean, we are engaged, we are planning to move across the country, and now I get an amazing job offer.”

Chris rubbed his hands up and down your back. “I know baby, a lot has happened in just a few weeks.” He leaned down and pecked your lips.

You couldn’t have been more happy in that moment if you tried. You were marrying your best friend, moving and were going to accept an amazing job offer.

It took some planning, but you and Chris finally had your schedules arranged so you were able to make a trip to Boston to do two things. The first was to meet with Jessica and start planning. The second was meeting with a realtor to look at some a few houses in Boston and the surrounding areas. You left Olivia with Lisa while you two were out.

You met Jessica at her office one morning. She greeted you when you walked through the door.

“Hi, it’s great to finally meet you two!” Jessica shook both yours and Chris’s hand then lead you into a private meeting room. “Ok, I know since your time here is limited, I’ve got a lot for us to go over. And we aren’t in a rush, you two are my only clients for the day.”

You sat down at the large conference table that was covered with lots of things, magazines, fabrics, color swatches, and much more. It was a little overwhelming at first glance for both you and Chris, but as Jessica started explaining, the feelings of being overwhelmed started to dissipate.

“Ok, first thing we need is a date.” Jessica said as she opened a large binder. “Now obviously, if you plan to do the ceremony and reception outside, we need a warmer month.”

You and Chris discussed and decided to have the wedding in September. The weather was warm, but not too hot and it definitely wouldn’t be freezing. From there the details fell into place. You picked the color scheme, an invitation design, the flowers, an arch way for the ceremony, and lots more. The biggest details left to decide were the cake, the menu for the reception, your dress, bridesmaid’s dress, and the tuxes.

By the time your meeting with Jessica was finished, it was well into the afternoon. You and Chris decided to grab a bite to eat before heading back to his mom’s house.

You went into a small Italian restaurant. The hostess seated you at a table and handed you menus. Before either of you can open your menus, a little boy, around five years old runs over to your table.

“You’re Captain America!” He exclaimed. “You are my favorite, after Falcon!” The boy said with a grin.

You couldn’t help the small giggle that escaped when the boy said Falcon was his #1 favorite.

Chris glanced at you then back to the boy. “Well, I will make sure Falcon knows that I met his #1 fan today.” Chris said with a smile.

Before their conversation could continue, the boy’s mom rushed over. “I am so sorry!” She apologized.

“Mama, look it’s Captain America!” He smiled up at his mom.

“I see, but we have to let him enjoy his meal with his friend.” She told him. She apologized one more time before she began to walk away.

“Wait, why don’t we take a picture before you go?” Chris offered.

The mother turned around. “That’s really not necessary. I hate to bother you anymore.”

“Nonsense, I insist.” Chris stood and picked the boy up and allowed for his mom to take a quick picture.

“Thank you so much, and again I’m so sorry he ran over here.” She said one last time before they walked away.

“You are great with kids, you know that right?” You questioned Chris as he picked up his menu.

“Yeah, I’ve been told I have a way with children.” He smiled.

The rest of you lunch was peaceful. You went back to Lisa’s house and spent what was left of your day lounging around.

The next morning, you met with a realtor to look at a few houses in and around the Boston area. When you talked with the realtor, you and Chris both told him you didn’t want to be in the middle of town.

The realtor showed you several houses, but most of them were in packed neighborhoods where there was only ten feet between two houses.

Finally, the last house he showed you and Chris was out from town and not squished between two other houses. It was in a new neighborhood, that only had a few other houses, but the closest one was a quarter of a mile. It had plenty of room and space. The house was large, with an open concept. It was two stories, stained wood floors, tall ceilings, marble counter tops, built in appliances, five bedrooms, five and a half baths, with an office space, and a three car garage. It was perfect.

After touring the house, you looked up at Chris. He could see it in your eyes that you were in love with the house, and he was too.

image

Chris turned to the realtor. “We’ll take it!” He smiled.

After finishing up with the realtor, you felt as if you were on cloud nine. Chris could tell by looking at you. It was as if you were glowing. You were in your own little bubble of happiness.

Before leaving Boston, you took Olivia back to the house, just to show her around. You put her down and let her walk around the empty house. She babbled as she walked around the first floor.

Chris wrapped his arms around you as you both watched Olivia. “I think she likes it.” He whispered in your ear then kissed your neck softly.

“I think so too.” You smiled. You giggled softly feeling Chris’s beard against your neck. “Now, I just can’t wait to be here.”

“Me either.” Chris agreed. “Not much longer.”

Once Christmas passed, you started the moving process. You packed up your apartment then packed up parts of Chris’s. It took about a week to get everything boxed up and shipped to Boston. Once everything was shipped and all the ends were tied up in L.A., you headed for Boston to start a new chapter.

Monday morning came way too fast. You woke up filled with anxiety, Chris did as well. You were both anxious about calling Chris’s agent and announcing your engagement. You were trying to put on a brave face, but inside you really weren’t ready for the reaction of Chris’s fans. You were so uncertain of what they may comment and post.

After breakfast, you and Chris went to the back porch to video chat with his agent. Of course, you had met his agent, Megan. She knew of your relationship. She was a big reason you were able to keep it a secret.

You and Chris sat at the patio table in front of his laptop, waiting. Your anxiety had skyrocketed at this point. You and Chris both took a deep breath as the call from his agent came through. Chris accepted the call and her face pooped up.

“Hey guys!” Megan smiled. “So, what is the reason for this video chat?” She questioned.

You smiled as Chris grabbed your hand and raised it into the view of the camera. “Well, I may have done something.” He joked.

“Oh my gosh!” Megan was shocked to say the least. She was happy, but as soon as she processed it, she started to think of all the articles and interviews that were going to want to be done and how Chris’s fanbase would react.

“Congratulations!” She smiled. “Are you calling because we need a cover up or because we want to make an official announcement before the tabloids?”

“The second one.” Chris told her. You nodded in agreement.

“Well, you have an tv appearance coming up this Friday with Jimmy Fallon. Do you want to do it then?” She asked.

Chris looked at you. He wanted this to be as much your decision as his. “Um, yeah, I guess that’s fine.” You shrugged.

“Y/N, we can find another way. You just have to say so.” Chris rested his hand on your leg.

“I just didn’t think I would have to go on tv or in front of an audience.” You admitted. “But, I want to do this as soon as possible. So, if I have to go in front of a live audience then I will do it.”

“Are you 100% sure? I don’t want you to be uncomfortable in any way.” Chris truly didn’t want to push you out of your comfort zone. He knew you weren’t used to the big audiences and the cameras in your face. You did the work off camera and that is where you were comfortable.

You took another breath and nodded. “I’m sure.” You told him. Maybe this way there wouldn’t be as much backlash. There wouldn’t be a post to harbor all the comments, good or bad.

“Alrighty then, I will call the producers and work out the details.” Megan smiled. “Again, congrats! Love you guys! I’ll see you in New York Friday morning!”

You both said goodbye before Chris ended the call and closed the laptop. You were hoping that your anxiety would decrease with the call to Megan, but it only seemed to increase.

Chris was not much better. He was stressing for you. He knew the fear of being in front of a live audience and it being broadcasted on tv. Chris turned to you and opened his arms to you. You got up and curled up in his lap.

“We are going to be ok after this, right?” You asked as you hid your face in Chris’s neck.

“Y/N, no matter what happens, no one can change the way I feel about you. I want you and Olivia for the rest of my life. I want to come home to you. I want to make you happy for the rest of our lives. I want Olivia to be a big sister, and I want to watch our kids run around in a big backyard.” Chris explained in a reassuring tone as he rubbed his hand up and down your back.

You couldn’t help the tears that started to flow. Chris moved back to look at you.

“Why are you crying, hun?” Chris asked as he wiped the tears.

“Because, you are just too good to me. I don’t know what I would have done this last year without you.” You sniffed.

“You would have made it work. I know you, and you are not a quitter and you don’t give up easily.” Chris brushed a piece of hair behind your ear. “I know you are worried about being in front of a live audience and being in front of the cameras instead of behind them, but we are in this together, until the end.” He kissed your forehead then pulled back with a smile.

You let out a breath and nodded. “Until the end.” You whispered.

Chris leaned in and kissed you gently. You kissed back before you were interrupted by Lisa opening the patio door.

“A certain one year old is awake and is wanting her mother.” She laughed.

You stood from Chris’s lap and went inside to get Olivia. Your anxiety was still present, but it was better after Chris calmed you down. You knew things were going to get harder, but as long as you had each other, things would be ok.

The rest of the week flew by and you were on your way to New York. Megan had a car service pick you, Olivia and Chris up and drive you to your hotel. Megan also arranged for you all to enter a side entrance instead of the main one. She led you up to your room. You stepped through the door and were greeted with the nicest hotel room you’d ever seen. You had stepped into just the living room area, there were still two bedrooms and two bathrooms to see.

You bags were delivered to your room while Megan went over the plan for the announcement. You were sitting on the couch holding Olivia as she napped. Chris sat in the arm chair to your left.

As Megan talked, you anxiety began to bubble up again. It had majorly decreased since Monday, but it was rising again.

“So, Chris you will go out first and do your normal thing. Talk about your movie and what not, then we’ve told Jimmy to ask you if anything happened over the holiday or if you had any big news to share, just something along those lines.” Megan explained. “Then you will answer and Jimmy is going to ask who your mystery fiance is, you answer and then you say, ‘She’s actually here with me tonight.’ then Jimmy will say ‘lets bring her out here’ and then you will come in.” She looked to you.

“Got it!” You nodded.

“And I will keep Olivia backstage with me. If you want to bring her up with Jimmy, I did send him a few photos of all three of you together, but I was very clear that those should only be shown if you talk about her.” Megan continued.

Chris looked over at you to make sure you were ok with everything. You gave him a nod to let him know you were ok.

“Everything is going to be ok.” You said with a small smile.

Chris nodded in agreement. “You are right. We are going to make it through this.”

You were filled with anxiety. There was so much left in the unknown. Chris was known for being a handsome bachelor. How were fans going to react to the news of him being off the market? What were people going to think of you? How would they react when they found out you had a child? These were all contributing factors to your stress.

“Ok, I’m going to leave you three to have some peace and quiet for a little while. Stylist will be here around 4:30 to start getting you both ready for the show. I’ve got a few things to do then I’m going to pick up lunch, I’ll be back at 12:30.” Megan gathered her things and left the room.

It was a little after 10 when Megan left, leaving you with maybe two hours to yourself. You sighed and leaned your head back against the couch. You were just trying to prepare yourself for what was to come.

You decided you needed to let out some steam before you exploded. You laid Olivia in one of the bed and left to go to the gym. Chris looked as if he was as calm as ever, but really he was nervous. On one hand, he liked his privacy and to have things just for himself, but on the other hand, he wanted to be able to go out freely with you and Olivia and not worry about who sees or takes a picture. He knew this was for the best.

You spent an hour in the gym. You ran two miles then spent forty minutes on the punching bag. By the time you finished, you were drenched in seat but you felt a million times better. Even though you were breathing heavy, you felt as if you could breath. You went back up to the room and headed straight to the shower.

Megan came in with lunch just as you finished getting dressed after your shower. Olivia was up from her nap and playing with Chris in the small living room. Chris was holding her up by hands and helping her walk. When she laid eyes on you she started to walk faster. Chris let her go and she walked all by herself all the way to you. You and Chris cheered excitedly as you scooped her up.

“Livie, you just walked! You are getting to be such a big girl!” You kissed her cheeks.

Chris walked over and kissed her cheeks as well. He smiled at her proudly as she babbled away in your arms.

After lunch, you relaxed a little more before the stylists showed up. At 4:30, Megan let them into the room. They rolled in a clothing rack, several suitcases and more. They were followed by hair and makeup artists.

The stylists set up in one bedroom while the hair and makeup was set up in the living room.

You were amazed by what all was going on. This was the part of the movie world you weren’t ever apart of. The stylists started with your outfit. They brought several options. You finally made a decision on the dress, then your shoes and jewelry. Once you finished, they sent you to hair and makeup. While it was all happening, you forgot about your stress and you anxiety. You just enjoyed being the center of attention. The hair and makeup artists complimented you on your skin and your hair. The compliments brought a smile to your face.

While your makeup was being done, Olivia wanted to sit with you. You held her in your lap as your makeup was applied. The artist occasionally brushed Olivia’s cheeks with a brush, making her giggle.

What seemed to be many hours later, you and Chris were finally dressed and ready.

image

Megan dressed Olivia for the night. Once she was dressed, you all headed down to the cars to head to the studio for the show. After you workout and being treated like a star, your anxiety and stress had dissolved. You started to realize you were working you self up over something you cannot control. You can only control your actions and emotions, not everyone else’s.

On the ride to the studio, you let Chris in on your sudden realizations. He noticed that you seemed much calmer from this morning, which in turn helped him to calm down. By the time you reached the studio, he was much calmer and ready to take on this interview.

You entered through the back doors and went into a green room. You sat down on a couch with Olivia as you waited to be told what to do. A crew member came in and put a microphone on him.

The show started and was playing on a tv in the green room. Olivia saw Chris on the tv and started to make grabby hands. You and Megan laughed softly. You watch as Chris promoted his new movie and talked about different things.

It went to a commercial break, and a crew member came to put a microphone on you. You looked at yourself in the mirror and took a calming breath.

“So, Chris, how was your thanksgiving? Did anything exciting happen?” Jimmy questioned Chris.

Chris chuckled and wiped his hands down his thighs. “Well, Jimmy, since you asked. Something exciting did happen.” He paused.

“Ok, come out with it. We are all on edge!” Jimmy exclaimed as if he didn’t already know.

“I am now an engaged man.” Chris said. The audience gasped then cheered.

“Wait, we didn’t even know you were seeing anyone.” Jimmy lied.

“Yeah, we tried to keep it that way.” Chris laughed.

“So, who is your fiance?” Jimmy asked.

“Y/F/N Y/L/N, she is a stunt coordinator for Marvel. That’s how we met.” Chris explained. “She’s actually here with me tonight.” He smiled.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s get her out here.” Jimmy looked to the producers as if they were rushing to get you out there.

A few minutes passed and the door slid open to reveal you. Chris stood from the couch walked over to you. He kissed your cheek sweetly then escorted you over to Jimmy. You reached out and shook his hand then sat down at the end of the couch Chris was previously occupying.

“So nice to meet you, Y/N.” Jimmy smiled.

“Nice to meet you too!” You smiled at him then glanced at Chris.

“How long have you been keeping this relationship a secret?” Jimmy looked at you and Chris.

“Well, we’ve been together for five months, that’s just officially as a couple.” You explained. “but, over this past year we’ve been together a lot.” As you tried to explain, you realized you would have to tell the whole story, including Olivia.

Jimmy gave you both a questioning look. “We should probably just tell the full story.” Chris said.

And you did. You and Chris told a shortened version of the whole story, so people didn’t think you were both rushing into being engaged. Even with the story some people probably thought you were being crazy and rushing things.

When you talked about Olivia, they would show pictures of her with you and Chris.

The rest of the show was great. The audience was amazing. They laughed and cheered, and that helped ease you into being in front of them.

Once the show ended, you headed back into the green room to get Olivia. It was close to eleven at night and she was sacked out on a couch covered by your coat.

You all made your ways out to the cars and headed for the hotel. Both of your phones were blowing up with notifications. You looked at Chris.

“I say we just turn them off until in the morning.” You shrugged.

“Sounds like a great plan.” He smile and kissed you.

You both shut your phones off and put them into the pockets of your coats. There was nothing that could be said that would ruin what you and Chris had at that moment.

You didn’t suspect a thing. Chris had done an amazing job at hiding the fact that he was going to propose in just a few days. Your mom, Lisa, Carly, and Shana helped Chris with every detail, even though there wasn’t much. Chris didn’t want it to be over the top and extravagant. He just wanted to show you how much he loved you but in a simple way.

Chris had already picked out the ring. He went to Tiffany & Co. while he was in New York on a project. He did it even without having your parents permission because he always knew he wanted to pick his future wife’s ring from Tiffany’s.

image

Chris spent a good portion of his off day looking over the extensive collection, but he finally made a decision and hoped you would be in love with it. He took the small blue box back with him to his hotel room and stuffed it into his suitcase and it had been there ever since.

Finally, it was thanksgiving day. Chris’s stress level was through the roof. He had a gut feeling you would say yes, but there was still a tiny bit of fear in him that you would say no.

Everyone was up and dressed for the day. You dressed very stylish but still comfortable, no one wants to be uncomfortable on thanksgiving. Olivia had a cute pumpkin outfit to wear for the day.

image

Once everyone was at the house, Lisa wanted everyone to take pictures. Lisa pushed everyone out into the backyard for pictures. Chris rushed upstairs to grab the ring from his suitcase. As Chris walked outside, his heart was beating out of his chest. He took a breath before stepping out of the door.  The backyard was filled with trees that were covered in orange, yellow, and red leaves, it was beautiful. Pictures were taken of Chris’s family, your family, Chris and his siblings, you and Olivia, then you, Olivia, and Chris.

Carly snapped what you thought was the last picture, then Shana speaks up. “Y/N, why don’t you and Chris get one by yourselves? Here, I’ll take Olivia.” Shana stepped over to take her.

“Oh, yeah sure.” You said.

“You don’t want to take a picture with me?” Chris faked offense.

You rolled your eyes. “Yes, of course, I want to take a picture with you!” You both laughed.

It took a second because Olivia was being slightly clingy that morning. You turned your back to Chris as Shana pulled Olivia off of you, all while Scott was filming the whole thing. With your back turned, it allowed Chris just enough time to slip the ring from his pocket and get down onto one knee.

Finally, you got Olivia off of you and turned back to Chris, but he was gone. You looked down and gasped. Chris was on his knee holding a Tiffany blue box in front of you.

“Chris.” You barely whispered.

Chris looked up at you and lost his whole speech he had planned in his head.

“Y/N, I had this whole speech about how wonderful and amazing you are but now that I’m looking at you, I can’t even think straight.” Everyone laughed. “So, I’ll just ask you a simple question. Will you marry me?” Chris looked up at you with hope filled eyes.

You covered your mouth as tears slowly slid down your cheeks. You nodded your head. “Yes! Yes, of course!”

Chris stood up and wrapped his arms around you tightly. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him. Chris pulled away and slid the diamond ring onto your finger.

“Chris, it’s beautiful!” You looked down in awe of the stunning diamonds now adorning your left hand.

“You like it? Because if it’s too much we can-” You cut Chris off.

“I love it!” You smiled.

Chris let out a breath of relief. It was like a thousand pounds had been removed from his shoulders. After a few more pictures, everyone went back inside where it was warm then they started to gush over your ring and the proposal.

A few hours later around the dinner table you asked, “Ok, so who all knew?”

Everyone around the table sported a sheepish grin but Olivia. You laughed.

“I can’t believe you all knew!” You shook your head.

Everyone continued to talk about the engagement then Lisa and your parents started to share stories of their earlier days in marriage. It was so sweet being able to hear the stories and spend time with so many people who loved you.

Once dinner was finished and all the dishes were done, everyone started to head back to their own homes or up to their rooms. You, Olivia, and Chris went up and started to get ready for bed. You put Olivia down after putting her in her pajamas. Chris climbed into the bed clad in just his boxers. You changed and washed your face then climbed into bed next to Chris.

“Do you think we should tell people?” You asked. “I know you like your privacy and I do too, but I feel like it would be better for us to announce it on our own terms rather than have some tabloid do it.”

Chris took a breath. “I like this not having anyone know but our families, but it’s going to get harder when all the planning starts. So, maybe it would be okay to release a statement. I just don’t want my crazy fanbase to ruin this.” He admitted. “There are some crazy people who will just comment hateful and mean things just to bring others down. I don’t want that to get to you.”

“I would love to say words can’t hurt me, but that isn’t the truth. I’ll just have to realize when it’s time to maybe step back from social media and if I let it get to me, I’ll have you to reassure me.” You smiled up at Chris then leaned in to kiss him. He returned the kiss.

“Ok, I’ll call my agent Monday. We can release a statement, but for the next few days let’s just enjoy being engaged with just our families knowing.” Chris kissed your forehead then laid back.

“Agreed.” You laid your head against his chest. “Good night.”

“Good night, fiance.” Chris whispered.

After a two weeks spent in Sudbury with Chris, you and Olivia headed back to L.A. Chris insisted on coming back with you, but you talked him into staying a little while longer, since he doesn’t get much time with his family when he was working.

Once you were back home for a few days, you started to plan Olivia’s first birthday party. Her birthday was November 25 falling two days before Thanksgiving. Olivia didn’t attend daycare so there were no children to really invite. The only children Olivia had been around for a significant amount of time were Chris’s nieces and nephews. An idea popped into your head, so you called Chris.

“Hey babe! What are you up to?” Chris asked.

“Hey. I just started thinking about Olivia’s birthday coming up. I want to plan a party for her, but the only kid’s she has really been around have been the kids in your family.”

Before you could go on Chris interrupted you. “They would love to celebrate Livie’s birthday!” Chris said excitedly.

“I know they would babe, but her birthday is two days before thanksgiving and that would be super hectic trying to travel from Boston to Los Angeles. And my parents are going to have to fly from Atlanta.” You let out an exasperated sigh.

“Hey, don’t stress. We will figure this out, ok?” He calmed you.

“Yeah, ok.” You leaned back against your couch.

“I know you just got back, but what if you had Olivia’s birthday here at my mom’s house?” Chris offered. “My family could be there and it would be a lot less travel time for your parents as well. We could have it the weekend before thanksgiving that way you and your parents could get back to Atlanta to have thanksgiving as a family or we could have one big thanksgiving together, totally up to you and your family.”

“Chris, I couldn’t ask that of your family.” You shook you head even though he couldn’t see you.

“You aren’t asking. I am offering.” Chris said, and you know he had his signature smirk on his face. “I’ll even ask my mom now if it’s ok with her.”

Before you could put a stop to his actions, you hear him call out for his mom. You faintly heard him explain the proposition then you heard a gasp. “Oh! I would love to have Olivia’s party here and meet her family. She is such a sweetheart, I can only imagine what her parents are like.”

“Ma, she is on the phone.” Chris told her.

“She is? Let me speak with her.” Lisa took the phone from Chris’s hand and placed it to her ear.

“Y/N, hun, I would love to help you with Olivia’s party and have you and your parents over for thanksgiving.” Lisa happily said.

“Thank you, Miss Lisa. I really don’t want to impose on your family during the holidays. Maybe I could celebrate with my parents then bring Olivia to Sudbury to celebrate with y’all.” You explained to Lisa.

“I promise you wouldn’t be imposing. The more the merrier around here, but I also understand where you are coming from. Why don’t you talk it over with you parents then get back with Chris or myself?”  Lisa stated.

“Yes ma’am, will do.” You smiled.

Lisa bid you goodbye then gave the phone back to Chris.

“So, how does thanksgiving in Massachusetts sound?” Chris said with a laugh.

“Chris, I just don’t know. I feel like I’m mooching off you and your family if I take your offer.”

“You’re not mooching.” Chris said flatly. “ My family really likes you. I don’t think they would offer that to just anyone, Y/N.”

“Just let me talk to my parents, and I will let you know.” You told Chris.

“Alright, I’ll talk to you later. I love you!” Chris said.

“I love you too.” You responded before ending the call.

You let out an exaggerated sigh and through your head back. “What are we going to do Livie?”

Olivia just babbled in response.

A little while later, you called your mom. When you explained Chris’s offer to her, she agreed that it would be a good idea. She wasn’t too sure on the thanksgiving part, but letting Olivia celebrate with both families would be best. She knew Chris had become a fundamental part of Olivia’s life and yours, so how could she not let him be apart of her first birthday.

After your phone call with your mom, you called Chris back to tell him that your parents agreed to having Olivia’s party in Sudbury. Chris had met your parents briefly when they visited you and Olivia in New York while filming. You were still nervous for his whole family to meet them.

After a few weeks of planning, you and Lisa had everything ready for Olivia’s birthday. Lisa had the idea for the theme to be donuts, and it turned out super cute. Lisa ordered a cake for Olivia to smash, one to eat, and tons of donuts of all flavors.

“Unexpected Gifts” Pt. 12

You and Olivia flew back to Boston two days before the party. The day before the party your parents flew in. You, Olivia, and Chris picked them up from the airport and took them to eat before taking them to their hotel.

The day of the party arrived and it was all about Olivia. You couldn’t ask for anything better. Chris went to pick up your parents while you got Olivia dressed. You didn’t know there was an underlying reason for Chris wanting to go alone.

He left earlier than needed to pick up your parents, but he had a plan. Before bringing them back to the house he stopped at a small cafe to have coffee with your parents.

You parent’s sat down at a small table with Chris after receiving their order.

“Chris, is there any particular reason you’ve brought us here?” Your mother, Tara, asked.

“Yes ma’am there is.” He said. To your parents it was obvious he was nervous about something and they had an inkling of what it might be. Chris took a deep breath and wiped his hands on his jeans. “Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N, I know Y/N and I have only been officially together for a few months, but I’ve known her for several years. This year having her in my life has been the best thing I could have asked for.” He took another breath. “She is an amazing woman. She loves everyone she meets no matter what, she is loyal, kind, smart, compassionate, and beautiful. I can’t imagine the rest of my life with out her or Olivia.” He looks you father straight in the eyes. “I would like your permission to ask her marry to marry me.”

Your parents were in awe of Chris’s speech about you. They can see the love for not only you but also for Olivia pouring out of him. They look at each other and smile.

“You have our permission.” You father, Shane, answered.

Chris’s smile could have split his face it was so wide. “Thank you!” He said with a sigh of relief.

They still had some time before they needed to be back, so your mother asked. “Do you have an idea of when you would like to ask her?”

“Well, I would really like to do it soon. I am not the best secret keeper.” He laughed softly. “I would like to ask her on thanksgiving, so I would really like it of you two joined our family for thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.”

Your mother pursued her lips. “Since you are going to propose, we will stay.” Your mom smiled. Chris smiled victoriously, his plan was coming together perfectly.

They continued their conversation for just a few more minutes then it was time to head home for the party.

Chris and your parents arrived forty-five minutes before the start time of the party. Lisa’s house was decorated beautifully for the occasion. Streamers and balloons were every where, along with pictures of Olivia that Lisa had acquired from Chris.

You walked down the stairs with Olivia in your arms, she was bathed and ready for the party. She was a little cranky about the tutu she had on, but she was slowly calming down.

image

Your mom gasped at Olivia’s outfit and immediately went to take her from you. You smiled and passed her over. You gave Chris a question look, he responded with a nonchalant shrug.

Once your mom was finished gushing about Olivia’s outfit, you lead them into the kitchen to meet Lisa.

Lisa and your parents hit it off. They fell into easy conversation as your mom started to help Lisa with the finishing touches of the decorations.

It was finally party time and Carly and Shana both showed up with the rest of the kids. The children were in awe of all the sweets laid out in front of them. Scott arrived with armfuls of gifts.

“Scott! You did not!” You gasped as he set the gift bags down.

“I absolutely did!” He smirked. Scott took Olivia from Chris’s arms and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

The party continued. Your mom placed the small cake on the tray of the high chair for Olivia to smash. Before you let her destroy the cake, you mom wanted a picture. You put Olivia in the high chair and stood just to the side for the picture.

“Chris get in there!” You mom motioned with her hand.

He couldn’t help the smile that beamed across his face. He joined the picture then allowed Olivia to dig in to her cake.

Everyone gathered around to watch Olivia smash her cake, and smashed it was. She had frosting all over her arms and face. You all snapped pictured of the happy birthday girl as she licked the cake and frosting from her hands.

The official party ended after two or so hours. With everyone around clean up didn’t take much time. The left over food was all stored away and the decorations were taken down. All of Olivia’s gifts had been placed in the corner of the living room for her to play with later. The kids had crashed from their sugar highs and were napping in the playroom on pallets.

All the adults gathered around the living room to enjoy the quiet. Scott, Chris and your dad watched a football game while all the women just laid around.

“Miss Lisa, I can’t thank you enough for everything. It was absolutely beautiful!” You told her as you looked through your pictures.

“Oh, hun, it was not a big deal! It was nice to do the planning and have the party here. It reminded me of having my own children’s parties here.” She smiled at you.

The rest of the evening was quiet. Everyone laid around and munched on party food. You leaned against Chris not thinking of anything other than the day you had. Chris looked as if he was focused on the game on tv, but really his sole focus was planning the perfect proposal with just a few short days.

One night, Shana decided to let all the kids go over to her house and play while her mom and Chris made dinner. Carly also joined Shana while keeping the kids. Chris was out on the back patio grilling hamburgers for dinner. You finished helping Lisa with preparing the condiments and sides then you slipped out onto the back patio.

You slowly walked up behind Chris and wrapped your arms around him. He knew it was you by your hands.

“Hey, baby.” Chris said softly.

“Hi.” You whispered back and laid your head against his back.

You both stayed quiet, just enjoying the sounds of outside around you. Chris laid his spatula down and turned in your arms so you were against his chest. He wrapped his arms around your waist and looked around at the backyard he grew up in. You looked up at him then out in the same direction he we was looking.

“It’s nice here.” You said quietly.

“You think so?” He questioned.

“Yeah, this seems like a good place for a family.” You said looking up at him. “It’s not quite a small town in the south, but it’s still nice.” You laughed softly.

“Where would you rather raise your family, here is Sudbury or in Atlanta?” Chris asked.

“Wherever I’m with you.” You smiled.

Chris looks down at you with his eyes full of love and adoration. “I love you, Y/N.” He whispered and leaned in to kiss you.

“I love you too.” You whispered back just before your lips met. You both pulled away with smiles on your faces.

“So, you would want to raise a family with me?” Chris gave you a questioning look.

“Most definitely! You are amazing with Olivia. I can’t imagine what you would be like with your own children.” You said while running your hands over his shoulders and down his arms.

He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead before turning back to the burgers on the grill. You took a seat on the patio chair and watched Chris. A few minutes later the back door opened, revealing Carly holding Olivia.

“Olivia, who is that?” Carly pointed to you.

“Mama!” She said clearly.

You gasp and reach out for her. “Good job, baby girl!” You cheered proudly. Chris turned around to see Olivia giggling in your arms.

“Who is it, Livie?” Chris questioned her.

“Mama!” She said again. Chris smiled at her proudly.

You smiled at him, you mind filling with thoughts of having children with him and him looking at them the way he was looking at Olivia. Chris looked at you before taking Olivia from your arms. He kissed her cheeks as she giggled. After holding her for a few minutes, he handed her back so he could take the hamburgers off the grill. You opened the back door for him and followed him inside the house.

“Ma, did you hear Olivia say her first word?” Chris asked his mother as he placed the tray on the counter.

“No, I didn’t! I want to hear.” She smiled excitedly.

“Livie, who is that?” Chris asked her as he pointed to you.

“Mama!” She giggled.

“Oh my!” Lisa grinned and clapped. “Such a smart girl!”

You kissed Olivia’s cheeks and tickled her as you held her. “Don’t blink! Before you know it she’ll be all grown up!” Lisa said with a smile.

Soon, dinner was served and everyone gathered around the outdoor dining table.

“So, Chris, when do you plan on popping the big question?” Scott asked his brother teasingly with a hint of seriousness.

You nearly choked on your chip you were eating. Chris’s stared daggers into his brother.

“Scott!” Lisa reprimanded. “That is not an appropriate question for the dinner table.”

You took a sip of your drink to stop your coughing.

“Ma, I was just kidding!” Scott defended himself.

The rest of dinner was filled with mindless conversation. You stayed rather quiet until it was over. You helped Lisa wash the dishes as everyone else hung out in the living room.

“I apologize for Scott’s behavior earlier, Y/N.” Lisa said as she dried a dish.

“There’s no need to apologize. It was a harmless comment.” You half smiled at her.

“I don’t mean to pry, Y/N, and I know its only been a few months since you and Chris have officially been together, but do you see a future with my son?” She set the dish down and turned her full attention to you, you followed suit.

“If I’m being honest with you and myself, yes ma’am. I see myself building a life with Chris.” You started to blush. “He treats me so well, and he has always been understanding of my situation with Olivia. I think since the night I got the call about my sister, I have seen a future with him.”

Lisa smiled brightly and pulled you into a tight hug. “Y/N, you are an amazing woman. After meeting you just a few short days ago, I’ve know that there is no one better for Chris than you.”

You teared up at her comment. “Just promise me you will take care of him. He needs it.” She laughed softly.

“Yes ma’am. I promise.” You laughed.

“Hey, what’s going on in here?” You heard Chris ask from the kitchen door.

You pulled away from Lisa and wiped the stray tears. “Nothing, just dong dishes.” You smiled at him.

Olivia was asleep against his shoulder. “Alright then, I was going to go put Livie down, but I figured you would want to kiss her good night.”

“Ugh this man in literally perfect”  You thought. He knew that even if Olivia was asleep, you would always kiss her and tell you loved her.

Chris brought her over to you. You kissed her cheek and whispered in her ear. You smiled up at him before he took her to your shared bedroom.

Once you and Lisa finished the dishes, you decided to head up to bed for the night. You went into the bedroom you and Chris were sharing. As you stepped in, Chris was closing the bathroom door.

“I’m going to shower.” You said grabbing your pajamas and stepping into the bathroom.

After your shower, you crawled into the bed with Chris. You curled up next to him, you head against his chest.

“So, do you want to tell me what you and my mom were talking about?” Chris asked in a whisper as he ran his hand over your back.

You internally debated with yourself for a moment before deciding to tell him. If things were going to really be serious, you had to be open and honest.

“After your brother’s question at dinner, your mom asked me if I saw a future with you.” You looked up at Chris, you could just barely make out his features in the dark. “And I told her, yes I do. I know it’s only been a few months but you’ve been through a lot with me in just under a year.” You took a breath. “You’ve been my compass through times when I didn’t know which way to go. I don’t know what I would have done without you. I love you, Chris Evans.”

Chris was lost for words at your outpour. He kissed your forehead, then your nose then your lips. “I love you too, Y/F/N Y/L/N.”

“Do you see a future with me?” You asked shyly. You were glad it was dark because you wouldn’t have been able to make eye contact if there was light.

“I can’t imagine one without you or Olivia.” He stated. “Thank you for letting me in and letting me help you and be your compass.”

Chris kissed your forehead one more time before you both fell asleep. It was the best sleep you had in ages.

Two weeks later, you, Olivia, and Chris were on your way to Boston. You had over packed both yourself and Olivia. You were just so unsure of what you would need, what the weather would be like, so you just packed every essential for just about any type of weather. Luckily, your suitcase was huge so, you and Olivia were both packed in it. You packed a carry-on with some of Olivia’s things as well. You put everything by the door as you waited for Chris.

Chris pulled up to your apartment and headed inside to help you with your luggage. It was around six in the morning, so, only you were awake. It was always easier to get ready to leave if Olivia was asleep. Chris knocked on the door. You ran over and let him, shushing him as he entered. He gave you a questioning look.

“Livie is still sleeping. I’d like to keep it that way.” You explained in hushed tone.

“Well, we kind of need to be leaving, so you need to go wake her up.” He stated matter-of-factly.

“Ok, I’ll go get her up and ready to leave.” You started to walk away, but Chris grabbed your arm and pulled you into him. “What?”

He leaned in and kissed you softly. “Now you can go get Olivia up.” Chris smiled down at you before taking your bags down to his car.

You quietly went into the bedroom and woke Olivia up. She was not happy with you at all. Olivia cried as you changed her diaper and put her into her onesie to travel. You were mixing a bottle when Chris walked back into the apartment. She immediately stopped crying and reached for him.

“Oh, good morning, love bug! Are you cranky because mama woke you up?” Chris cooed at the eight month old as he took her from you.

You rolled your eyes and handed Chris the bottle. He chuckled and took the bottle. You finished packing your carry-on then started turning off lights.

“Ok. I’m ready.” You smiled at Chris.

“Let’s hit it!” He turned off the kitchen lights and headed for the door.

You followed Chris out and shut the door. You made sure it was locked then walked down the stairs to the car.

Chris buckled Olivia into her car seat then went around to the driver side. You got in the passenger side and buckled up.

The drive to the airport was mostly quiet, the radio played creating some back ground noise.

You zoned out while looking out of the window. Your mind was filled with anxious thoughts. You had heard great things about Chris’s family, but it didn’t help the nervousness you were feeling.

You were brought out of your thoughts by Chris placing his hand on your thigh.

“You ok?” He asked.

“Yeah, I’m just nervous.” You admitted to Chris. “I know your family is probably the sweetest people on the planet, but I’m just anxious.”

“Sweetheart, it’s ok to be nervous and anxious. My family can be a bit over the top, so I’m glad you told me.” He gave your thigh a reassuring squeeze. “It’s all going to be ok.”

You smiled at him and nodded. A few minutes later you pulled into the parking garage if the airport.

Once you had Olivia strapped in the chest carrier, you help Chris get the luggage.

All the luggage was out of the car, but before you could go into the airport, Chris put on his Boston cap and a pair of dark sunglasses. You couldn’t help but laugh softly.

“What?” He looked over at you.

“You really think that fools anyone?” You asked as you grabbed the handle to your suitcase.

“I know it doesn’t but it’s all I got.” He grabbed his suitcase and locked the car.

“Well, I’ll keep my distance so no one gets suspicious.” You said jokingly, but Chris thought you were serious.

“What? No! I don’t care if people are suspicious.” He said walking over to you.

“Chris, I was only joking.” You assured him.

“Oh, good! I thought you were serious.” He blushed.

You both went into the airport and went to check in for your flight. Once you were checked in, you and Chris found your gate and sat down. Olivia was still asleep against your chest.

“Do you want a coffee or something to eat?” Chris asked as he placed his carryon by the chair you were sitting in.

“Coffee would be great.” You smiled at him. He nodded and went to find a coffee cart. Chris had to hold himself back from kissing you, even if all he wanted to do was give you a quick peck. He didn’t want to risk it. He didn’t want you to worry about pictures being taken and posted.

Chris found a coffee cart and ordered. Once he had both coffees, he made his way back to you. When he got back, he found you holding an awake Olivia. She was bouncing around in your lap and gurgling. Chris handed you your coffee with a smile then sat down. You sipped on your coffee while you waited for your flight to board.

Forty-five minutes later, your flight started to board. You and Chris made it to your seats and got situated for the flight.

Once you were in the air, Olivia went to sleep. Six hours later and you landed in Boston at Logan International Airport. You let everyone else get off before you and Chris even attempted to get up from your seats. Chris helped you get Olivia strapped into the carrier then you grabbed your carryon. You both exited the plane and made your way to baggage claim.

Chris grabbed the the luggage and Olivia’s car seat as it went by. You checked to make sure you had everything then you followed Chris out of the airport.

“My brother is picking us up.” Chris smiled at you.

“Oh, I can’t wait to meet him.” You said to him.

Once you both exited the doors of the airport, you heard Chris’s name being called. You both looked over to see his brother waving and yelling. You couldn’t help but laugh. You followed Chris over to the car.

Chris embraced the younger man in a hug then he turned to look at you.

“Scott, this is my girlfriend Y/N and her daughter Olivia.” Chris said proudly.

“Nice to meet you! I’m Scott!” He reached out and shook your hand. “Well, lets get going. Everyone is really excited to meet you.” Scott said.

You anxiety seemed to spike at that comment. Chris noticed the slightest change in your facial expression as he helped Scott load the luggage. Chris walked over and placed his hands on your shoulders.

“Hey, it’s going to be ok. There is lots of space at the house and even a small guest house, so if you and Olivia need to sneak away you can.” Chris said reassuringly. “I’ll be with you every second if you need me to be.” He smiled.

You let out a breath and nodded. Once the car seat was put into the car, you all loaded up. Chris sat up front with Scott who was driving and you sat in the back with Olivia.

Scott pulled away from the airport and headed for the house. Thirty minutes later, you were pulling up to a beautiful house in the Sudbury, Massachusetts. Scott parked and turned the car off. As soon as you opened the car door, the front door of the house was opening and several children came running out followed by adults.

The children immediately ran to hug Chris. He bent down and wrapped his arms around them all. The sight warmed your heart because you know just how much this man loves his family.

You fully got out of the vehicle and began to unbuckle Olivia. She was once again sleeping, so you were being careful not to wake her. Once you had her out and against your chest, you turned around and were met with lots of eyes on you. You smiled at everyone as you held Olivia.

Chris noticed Olivia was sleeping. “Everyone this is Y/N and Olivia.” He said quietly. “Olivia seems to be warn out from our trip here.” He chuckled.

Chris reached over and took Olivia, so you could meet everyone.

“Hi, I’m Lisa, Chris’s mom.” Lisa introduced herself then pulled you into a hug. You hugged her back and it was actually calming.  “This is Shana and Carly, Chris’s sisters.” She pulled away and introduced them. They both hugged you as well.

“It’s nice to finally meet y’all! I’ve heard lots of good things.” You smiled.

“Well, we are really glad to meet you as well hun.” Lisa smiled. “Do you mind?” Lisa asked gesturing to Olivia.

“No, not at all.” You said. Lisa walked over and took Olivia from Chris, who pouted slightly.

“Now, you boys bring all the luggage in.” Lisa said as she turned to walk inside the house. You laughed softly and followed Carly and Shana.

You all went into the living room and sat down. “Y/N, she is a beautiful little girl.” Lisa complimented as her grandchildren gathered around her to look at the unfamiliar baby.

“Thank you!” You smiled.

“So, I hope you don’t mind, but Chris explained the full story to me about how Olivia became yours.” Lisa looked at you.

“Oh yes ma’am, it is totally fine. He asked if he could tell you.” You explained. “It was actually just recently that I allowed myself to see her as my daughter and not my niece.”

You, Lisa, Carly, and Shana continued to talk as Scott and Chris toted the luggage to Chris’s old bedroom.

Chris joined you all a few moments later. He sat down beside his mom and admired Olivia’s sleeping form.

“She is quite the sleeper, isn’t she ma?” Chris laughed softly.

“I’d have to say so, the kids have been romping around and she hasn’t budged.” She agreed.

“Man, I wish mine were like that.” Shana laughed.

“Yeah, I got pretty lucky in that department.” You said. “We’ve only had a handful of nights that were tough.” You admitted to them.

After a few more minutes of talking, Olivia began to wake up. Lisa cooed at her as she stretched. Once she saw Chris from the corner of her eye, she reached for him. Lisa handed her over to him and she began to coo at him.

“Is she forming any words yet?” Lisa questioned as she watched Chris with Olivia.

“Yes, we’ve been working on mama mostly and banana.” You said with a laugh. “Banana is mainly ‘nana’ and mama is almost there.”

Everyone sat around for a while before it was time to start on dinner. Lisa made her way to the kitchen followed by Carly and Shana. You moved over by Chris and Olivia. Scott and Chris continued to talk while you made faces at Olivia.

“Chris, mom wants you.” Carly stuck her head out from the kitchen.

Chris handed Olivia to you then went into the kitchen. You sat down on the floor so Olivia could crawl around.

Chris walked into the kitchen only to be met with three women staring at him. He raised his eyebrow in question to all of them.

“Chris that girl is literally perfect!” Shana said in a hushed tone.

“Agreed!” said Carly. “You need to pop the question already.” Carly added.

“Girls.” Lisa looked at them. “That is not what I wanted to talk to you about.” She told Chris. “I just wanted to say that, I really like her. She is very kind, she loves kids and doing a lot on her own. She is also beautiful.” Lisa smiled at him as she continued to cook at the stove. “You have a good one, Chris, don’t let her slip away.”

“Unexpected Gifts” Pt. 9

Story Summary: After college, you moved to L.A. to begin pursuing your dream in the movie industry. You started as an intern and worked your way to leading stunt coordinator for the Marvel franchise on the set of the movie “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.” After the first week, you get a call that changes your life forever. You sister took her life, left you with her two month old daughter, and you are falling in love with one shield wielding maniac.

Pairings: Chris Evan x Reader, Scarlett Johansson x reader (platonic)

Warnings: Lots of fluff! and I think this could be classified as angst, not sure. Its not between Chris and the reader though.

A/N: Ok, when I started writing this I did not know how old Scarlett’s daughter was, I honestly just knew she had one. It just dawned on me to see how old she is and I found out that she is only five, so if I was going by her actually birthdate, she wouldn’t even be born. So, for the sake of this story, Scarlett’s daughter is already born and I’m going to say she is five at this point.

Following your date, you checked your schedule for an upcoming projects. At the time, you had a few small projects that would be wrapped by the time Chris was ready to head to Boston.

You text Chris a picture of your schedule to let him know you were for sure free. He sent back a thumbs up and a smiley face. You laughed and put your phone down. Olivia had started crawling right as she reached eight months, so you couldn’t get to distracted or she would be into something.

Chris was away filming his cameos for a few of the upcoming marvel movies, so it had been just you and Olivia for a couple of days. And you realized you needed to find a few more friends, some that were more available than Chris. But the more you thought about it, the worse it sounded.

So, you decided that staying at home with Olivia was the best option. As you were playing with Olivia, your phone started ringing. You grabbed it from the couch as Oliva crawled over and into your lap. You looked at the screen and saw Scarlett’s face. You quickly answered.

“Hey girl! What’s up?” You asked as you smiled at Olivia.

“Y/N! It feels like it’s been too long since I’ve seen you. I was in town and was wondering if you and Livie would want to grab dinner with Rose and me?” Scarlett said.

You glance down at Olivia, who is just smiling and babbling. “Yes! Oh my gosh! We would love to!”

“Great! I’ll text you the restaurant.” Scarlett ended the call.

“Well, Livie, looks like we have plans for the evening.” You scooped Olivia up in your arms and went to get ready.

You changed out of you shorts and t-shirt and into white jeans, a baby blue top and some sandals. After applying a touch of makeup and smoothing out your hair, you grabbed clothes for Olivia. You picked out a white, sleeveless romper that had pineapples all over it and a matching headband.

Once Olivia was dressed, you grabbed your phone and the diaper bag and headed out the door. You drove downtown to the address Scarlett sent you. You arrived and immediately saw Scarlett waiting with her daughter. You parked and exited your car. You gently got Olivia out as she continually babbled on and on. Grabbing the diaper bag and closing the door, you headed across the street to where Scarlett was waiting.

Scarlett smiled at you as you made it across. You embraced quickly then pulled away.

“Y/N, it’s been too long. We went from seeing each other everyday to not at all.” She exclaimed.

“I know, I know!” You laughed softly. You looked down to see Scarlett’s daughter, Rose. “Well, you must be the famous Rose! I’ve heard so much about you.”

The five year old giggled and held her mother’s hand tighter. “You’re Y/N!” Rose said excitedly. “Mama talks about you, a lot!”

You chuckled and looked to Scarlett, who had a guilty expression. You all entered the small restaurant and were greeted by the hostess. She lead you to a table away from the larger crowds. You weren’t sure if it was because of the children or because of Scarlett, but it was nice not to be seated in the crowded dining area.

The waitress came over with a high chair, which you thanked her for, then she took you drink orders. Once you made sure Olivia was buckled in, you turned back to Scarlett to catch up. Rose was entertaining Olivia.

“So, how is the couple life?” Scarlett quirked her eyebrow.

“Things are great! Like really, really great!” You started, and you couldn’t help the blush that made its way onto your cheeks. “Chris is the sweetest and most caring man ever! He literally bought a pack-n-play and a bouncer to keep at his apartment for Olivia.” You gushed.

Scarlett couldn’t help but smile, she was happy for the both of you. “You’ve got one of the best, Y/N. I’m so happy for you.”

Your conversation continued and flowed into lots of different subjects. The food was being delivered and that’s when your conversation slowed, but once it did, you were able to clearly listen to Rose talking to Olivia.

Rose was trying to get Olivia to say “mama.” At that moment, you felt like you had been punched in the gut. You hadn’t even thought about something like this happening.

“Rose-” Scarlett went to correct her daughter, but you stopped her. She gave you a questioning look.

Rose look at her mom then back to Olivia. Olivia was trying to imitate the sounds Rose was making.

Once all the food was placed on the table, you all started eating. You fed Olivia small bites off your plate, since she was able to eat more solid foods. You and Scarlett continued talking about little things while enjoying your meals.

“Oh! I almost forgot. Olivia and I are going to Boston with Chris in a few weeks.” You told her.

“Really? Are you ready for that?” She asked.

“Yeah, I think I’m ready. I know its only officially been a little over two months, but I feel like things are on their way to be serious with Chris.” You admitted to her. You really did have a gut feeling that things would serious between you and Chris.

“That’s great! Oh, you are going to love his family. They are the sweetest.” Scarlett told you. “His mom is a literal angle!”

You laughed softly. “Well, hopefully they like me and Olivia.”

She reached over and squeezed your hand. “They will love you both! Don’t stress, it causes wrinkles.” She laughed and reached up to your forehead where she could see worry lines.

“Ok, mom.” You both laughed, rather loudly. Rose looked at her mom confused, while Olivia joined in the laughing.

Once the laughing died down the waitress come by with the checks. Scarlett and you both accepted the books and slid your cards in. The waitress walked away to run the cards. You picked Olivia up and sat her in your lap. She started to babble while looking up at you.

“Mmmaaa” She continued trying to mimic the word mama.

Rose smiled and clapped. “Look mama! Olivia is saying mama!” Olivia’s attention was drawn by the clapping, so she looked back at Rose and continued to make the ‘m’ sound.

Scarlett looked over with a small look of apology, but you waved her off. “We should definitely make Chris jealous!” Scarlett smirked.

“How so?” You quirked your brow.

“Like this!” She grabbed her phone and from her purse and opened up the camera app. Rose climbed into her lap to join the picture. Scarlett snapped a cute picture of you four then text it to Chris with a message reading “I’m stealing your girlfriend and her baby!😜”

She sent the message while laughing softly. Chris responded rather quickly.

“Hey, that’s not fair!😢 You CAN’T have them! I’ll fight you”

You both laughed at his message as the waitress returned with your cards. You put your cards away and gathered your things to leave. Scarlett typed her response to your boyfriend.

“You know you won’t win that fight!”

You shook your head at her antics as you both left the restaurant.

“Hey, what are you going to do now?” You asked her.

“Just going back to my hotel, why?” She looked at you.

“Why don’t you and Rose come hang out a little longer at my place?” You offered. “Livie seems to be enjoying Rose’s entertainment.”

Scarlett nodded. “Oh, alright! I’ll meet you there.” She turned and walked down to her car. You did the same. Once Olivia was buckled in, you headed home. As you were driving, you could hear Olivia continuing to babble out, “Mmmmaaaa.”

She babbled the entire way home and even as you made it into your apartment. Scarlett walked in a few minutes behind you. Rose immediately went to play with Olivia on the floor, while Scarlett walked into the kitchen, where you were pouring two glasses of wine.

While you were waiting for Scarlett, your mind wouldn’t slow down. It continued to think about the future, “What should Olivia call you? What’s going to happen when she goes to school and other kids talk about their moms? Technically, you would be her mother figure, but you couldn’t replace her actual mom.”

Scarlett noticed the look that had made its way onto your features as you handed her the glass. She instantly took both glasses, placed them on the counter and pulled you into a hug. She couldn’t even begin to imagine what emotions you were feeling, because most moms/guardians were ecstatic when their babies started talking. Scarlett could see you were happy she was starting to form a word, you were just unsure of what to feel with the word she was forming.

Scarlett pulled away to look at you. Tears were forming in the corners of your eyes.

“No, no, no! No tears.” She said while gripping your shoulders. “I know this is tough, and I know you think by letting her call you mom is somehow wrong because you aren’t the one who gave birth to her, be glad you didn’t, that is the only sucky part.”

A grin broke out on your face. “There we go! A smile, no tears.” Scarlett exclaimed. “As much as you think you aren’t her mother, you are. I’d like to think you love her like you brought her into this world. Because everyone knows you would do anything that baby girl needs and that’s what being a mom is. Doing things that are so unbelievably unnecessary just to see a smile on our kids face, or to keep them safe. You chose to take care of her, that’s what moms do. Because I know, you had the option to leave her with your parents, but you didn’t. You chose to be woman who loves and cares for that child. You aren’t replacing you sister, I know it feels like it, but I know when Olivia is older you while explain it all to her.”

A tear slid down your cheek at Scarlett’s words. She wiped it away and hugged you again. “It’s all going to be ok.”

You nodded and took a deep breath. You pulled back to look at Scarlett. “So, I should be teaching her to say mama?”

“Yes, you should because you are one hell of a mom.” Scarlett beamed.

You returned a smile. You both grabbed your wine and went to join the girls in the living room. Rose was laying on the floor letting Olivia crawl on top of her. Scarlett took a quick picture of them and sent it to you.

You laughed softly at the picture. You and Scarlett started talking about random subjects while watching the girls.

As you were talking, you phone started ringing. You grabbed it from the coffee table to see an incoming facetime call from Chris. You showed the phone to Scarlett, who quickly snatched it and answered the call.

“Hey, bab-” Chris cut himself off when he saw Scarlett on his screen. “Umm, Scarlett? What are you doing?” He questioned the blonde.

“I told you I was going to steal you girlfriend and her baby.” She said as if that was common knowledge. You couldn’t help but laugh.

“Very funny, give the phone back to my girlfriend.” He laughed

“Whatever, you’re no fun.” She rolled her eyes and handed the phone to you then moved to the floor to play with Rose and Olivia.

“Finally! Hey, beautiful!” Chris smiled upon seeing your face on his screen.

“Hey! How was your day?” You asked him.

“Much better, now that I get to talk to you.” You laughed softly. “How was your day?” He asked.

“It was really good! I’ve missed seeing Scarlett, and I finally got to meet the famous Rose.” You explained to Chris. He chuckled.

“I’m glad you had a good day, babe. Now, where is love bug?” He asked.

“She is on the floor, playing. Would you like to speak with her?” You questioned him.

“I would.”

Scarlett picked up Olivia and passed her to you. You placed her in your lap and put the phone in front of her. She started to reach for the phone once she saw Chris’s face.

“Hey there, love bug! What are you doing?” He cooed at the baby. She babbled in response.

“Mmmmaaa” She cooed.

“Say, Rose has been teaching me to say mama.” You explained in a baby voice. “Can you say it Livie? Ma-ma?” You looked down at her. She tried to repeat the syllables but it was lost among her babbles.

You looked at Chris who was smiling from ear to ear. “What?”

“Nothing, just missing you both. Can’t wait to be back with you two.” Chris played it off. Really, he was imagining what it would be like to hear his and your children try to say mama.

“We miss you too! I’ll see you in a few days though, then we will be off to Boston.” You reminded him.

He nodded and smiled. “Well, it’s pretty late here, so I’m going to head to bed. I just wanted to tell you, I miss you and can’t wait to be back.”

“We are here waiting for you! Good night!” You smiled. “Blow kisses, Livie.” Olivia blew him a kiss. Chris did the same.

“Goodnight to all of you guys!” He said a little louder for Scarlett to hear. Scarlett responded before you ended the call.

You put your phone down and joined Scarlett on the floor.

“So, you haven’t said it yet?”  Scarlett asked in a teasing tone.

“No, we haven’t. ” You said as you played with Olivia. “You sound like a teenage girl!” You laughed.

Scarlett laughed. “I do not! I was just curious!” She defended herself.

“Mhm.” You hummed and rolled your eyes. You both laughed and continued to talk.

Soon, both Olivia and Rose were tired. Rose yawned and sat in Scarlett’s lap. “Well, I guess that is my cue.” She laughed.

“Yeah, I think so.” You both stood. You held Olivia as she whined. Scarlett picked up Rose and grabbed her purse. You walked her to the door. “It was so good getting to catch up with you! We definitely need to do this more.”

“Agreed!” She smiled. You hugged gently before she left.

Once she left, you took Olivia to the bedroom. “I know, I kept you up way past your bed time.” You said as you changed her into her pajamas. She continued to whine until you held her against your chest and rocked her gently. Within a few short minutes, Olivia was out. You laid her in her crib then went to get ready for bed.

Over the next several weeks that was yours and Chris’s normal date night, alternating between your apartment and Chris’s. Chris even went as far as purchasing a pack-n-play and a bouncer for Olivia. The night you went over there and saw both items, you knew you had an amazing man.

Finally, Chris had enough of the apartment date nights. You were walking around your apartment in your black, silk mid-thigh robe and Olivia on your hip when a knock was heard throughout the small space. You quirked an eyebrow at Olivia, who just giggled.

“Who could it be Livie? Are you expecting someone?” You questioned the infant, who babbled in response.

You looked through the peephole of your door and gasped at the sight. Chris was on the other side in navy slacks, a white button down and brown dress shoes. He looked incredible, you thought. You pulled the door open.

“Chris? What are you doing here?” You inquired.

Chris was caught completely off guard by your appearance. He had never seen this much of you. You always had on leggings or jeans and a t-shirt when he was around. He eyed you up and down, very obviously. When his eyes met yours, he cleared his throat.

“Y/N, I like you a lot, but I am tired of our apartment dates. I want to take you out to dinner and show you off.” He stated with a pleading look in his eyes. “I know I am not just dealing with you but also Olivia, so yes, I completely understand not always wanting to go out, but we haven’t gone out once. So, that is what we are doing tonight.” He stated as he walked through the door.

You were slightly stunned by Chris’s spill. You stepped back as he entered. “Chris, have you looked at me? I can’t go out!”

“Yes, baby, I have looked at you and you look incredibly sexy, but I need you to hand me the baby, and take your sexy butt in your bedroom and get ready to go to fancy restaurant down town.” Chris stated as he took Olivia.

You could not help the pout the spread across you face. Did you want to go on an actual date with Chris? Yes. But did you also want to sit on the couch in your robe and eat Ben & Jerry’s? Yes.

Chris leaned down and planted the sweetest kiss on your lips. “You have an hour and half, so go.” He nodded his head towards your bedroom.

With a huff, you walked away into your bedroom. Luckily, you and Olivia had just finished your baths twenty minutes before Chris showed up. You sat down at your vanity in the bathroom and started your makeup. You made sure it was perfect, a simple smoky eye and a nude lip. You curled your hair in large, loose curls and teased it at the roots for extra volume.

Once you finished, you made your way into the closet to pick out your outfit. The way Chris was dressed, you instantly started looking for a dress. You pulled out a navy, satin wrap dress and smiled. You weren’t trying to match Chris, but you knew how amazing the dress would look.

You put the dress on and tied it at your waist. You slipped on a pair of nude heels, added large gold earrings, and grabbed your clutch.

You exited your room just as Chris started talking to what seemed to be a babysitter. Chris stopped and looked over at you. He was even more star struck than when you opened the door of your apartment. The blush crept onto your cheeks and you looked at the ground.

“Y/N, this is Lizzie.” You looked up at the girl. She looked to be at least in her twenties. “She will be keeping Olivia while we are out. Scarlett gave me her number.” Chris explained.

A breath of relief left your lungs. Knowing that she has watched Scarlett’s daughter was soothing. You smiled at her as she reached to shake your hand.

“Are their any allergies that I should know about?” Lizzie asked.

“No, she is allergy free.” You told her. “Oh I should probably write you a small schedule of what she’ll need for the rest of the night.” You began walking to the kitchen.

“Oh, no worries ma’am. Your husband already gave it to me.” She smiled holding a small paper up.

Chris knew Olivia’s schedule just as well as you did at that point. You blushed again at the fact that she called Chris your husband. You didn’t want to embarrass her, so you let it go. Chris couldn’t help the blush that crept onto his cheeks as well.

“Oh, ok.” You smiled at Chris. “Umm just a fair warning, Olivia can be picky. So, when you get ready to feed her, your best bet is sweet potatoes or bananas.” You explained to her. “She will eat the whole jar of either of those.”

Lizzie nodded with a smile. You walked over and picked Olivia up from her play mat. “Bye sweet girl! I love you.” You kissed her cheeks.

Chris pulled out his wallet. “I ordered you a pizza, so this is for that.” Chris handed over a twenty dollar bill.

After sliding his wallet into his back pocket, he opened the door. “Alright, we should be back no later than 10.” Chris told her as he put his arm around your waist to walk you out of the door.

You smiled one more time at Lizzie then walked out of the door. Chris closed the door behind him. He stopped you before you reached the stairs. You turned around to face him, and as much as you wanted to pout you couldn’t.

“You look absolutely incredible!” Chris leaned in to kiss you. You met him in the middle and kissed back. “That color is amazing on you.”

You smiled up at him. “Flattery will get you everywhere, Mr. Evans.”

He smirked down at you. “Hmm, and where exactly is that Mrs. Evans?” Chris teased.

You laughed softly. “I didn't have the heart to correct her.” You admitted to him.

“I didn’t either.” Chris said as you both made your way to the stairs.

Chris noticed you were slightly tense, and he knew it had to be from you worrying about Olivia. “And I don’t want you to worry about Olivia. Scarlett told me that Lizzie was the best sitter she has ever had.”

You exhaled and look up at him. “I trust Scarlett. It’s just that I’ve never left her alone with anyone for this long.” You confessed to him. “Sure, I’ve left her with Elizabeth or Scarlett for like thirty minutes but never for this long.”

Chris rubbed soothing circles on your back as you walked down the stairs. “I have her number, and if at any point you want to check in, just let me know.”

You reached the bottom of the stairs and headed for the front door. Chris put his arm around your waist and escorted you out to his car.

Chris opened the car door for you and helped you in. “Glad to see chivalry isn’t dead.” You smiled.

“With me, it never will be.” He gently shut the door and walked around to the driver’s side.

“So, where are going to eat exactly?” You glanced at Chris as he started the car.

“A steak house down town.” He grinned. You nodded and put your seat belt on. Chris pulled out of the parking lot and drove to the restaurant.

Chris continued with being the perfect gentleman. He helped you out of the car, held the door, and pulled your chair out for you at the table.

You smiled at Chris across the table. It was the perfect setting, a small round table with a candle at the center, the lights were dim, but no so much that you couldn’t make out Chris’s sculpted features. A server came by and filled the water glasses as you glanced over the menu.

The waitress walked up to the table with a smile. “Welcome, I’m Katie, I’ll be waiting on you this evening. Can I get you started with something to drink, maybe something from the bar?”

“Water is fine.” You smiled. Chris ordered himself a drink from the bar then looked back at you. The waitress nodded and went to put Chris’s drink order in.

“You know you can get a drink.” He said leaning on the table slightly.

“I know, I just don’t feel like drinking tonight.” Chris nodded, seeming satisfied with your answer.

You smiled at him before looking down at your menu. After looking the menu over, you narrowed down your options, but before making your final decision you laid the menu down.

“So have any new projects in the works?” You look at Chris with a smile.

“Well, I have some shoots to do for another marvel project then after that I’m free for a while. I’m thinking about going back to Boston for a while, so I can see my family.” He said as he laid his menu down.

A small pout made its way across your features. You didn’t want Chris to go home. “Oh, that will be nice!” You forced a smile.

Chris could tell that the wheels were turning in your head. “Y/N, that doesn’t mean I’m leaving you in the dust. I was actually going to ask if you and Olivia would like to join me in Boston.”

The pout subsided and a genuine smile took it’s place. “Well, I will have to look at my schedule but I would really like that.”

Chris smiled widely and took your hand from across the table. “Good, because I’ve already booked us a flight.”

Four months had passed and filming was done. Chris has handled the Twitter incident that happened before filming and all was well. Olivia was seven months old, and she was as amazing as ever. She began teething while filming was going on, that was a rough patch. Olivia had learned to roll over from her back to her tummy and back again.

You and Chris were as close as two could be without officially being anything. By the end of filming, you knew you were ready to try things out with Chris. You had learned to navigate life with Olivia, and you were ready.

You had been back in L.A. for two days, so you invited Chris over. You decided to actually make dinner instead of ordering out. You ran to the store to grab a few things. You cleaned up the apartment, more than normal. You put Olivia in her walker and started on dinner. Olivia moved around the kitchen giggling and cooing.

Olivia loved to be in the kitchen with you, even if the times were few and far between. She had started eating puréed foods, so she liked the kitchen. You decided to make one of the few dishes you didn’t need a recipe for, spaghetti. You knew your mother’s recipe like the back of your hand. Once you finished cooking, you went to your room to change. A pair of skinny jeans and a black V-neck top with a knot tied in the side. It wasn’t super dressy, but nicer than your normal sweats.

There was a knock at the door around 6. Olivia squealed and cooed at the sound.

“Oh, Livie, I think your favorite person is here!” You picked her up out of the walker and went to the door. You opened the door, revealing Chris with his signature grin.

“There are my girls!” Chris beamed. Olivia giggled loudly as she recognized the sound of Chris’s voice. She reached for him. He took her from you and walked in the door.

“Woah, is it a special occasion?” He asked after noticing your outfit, the squeaky clean apartment, and the smell of a home cooked meal. Chris was in jeans and a patriots t-shirt.

You blushed and bit your lip. “It could be a special occasion.” You said looking up at him.

He raised his eyebrow, slightly confused. “Care to fill me in?”

You stepped closer to him and smiled up at him. “Well, I was thinking four months is a pretty long wait.” You smirked.

It took Chris a few seconds to realize what you were saying. “Wait! Really? Are you sure you’re ready?” He began questioning.

You couldn’t help but giggle at how excited he was. “Yes, I’m sure. You’ve been so patient and so helpful. I think I’ve learned to navigate my new life and I want you to be a part of it.”

His smile could have split his cheeks it was so big. “I would love to be a part of your new life.”

You smiled up at him as Olivia giggled. Chris leaned down and kissed you. You didn’t hesitate to return the kiss. The kiss was sweet and gentle.

“Should we celebrate with dinner?” You grinned. Chris nodded and followed you into the kitchen.

“Mmm, that smells amazing!” He hummed.

“Spaghetti.” You smiled at Chris. “My mom’s family recipe!”

Chris put Olivia in her high chair at the table then fixed his plate. You fixed your plate then grabbed a jar of baby food for Olivia, sweet potatoes. You both joined Olivia at the table.

You opened the small jar and began feeding small spoonfuls to Olivia. You and Chris enjoy your meal together.

After dinner, Chris put Olivia down while you cleaned up the kitchen. Chris liked the feeling of being normal, even if was just a few hours at a time. He enjoyed his time with you and Olivia because it was simple and domestic. You didn’t see him as a big hotshot actor, you just saw him as Chris, the incredibly handsome, super funny guy that liked you and your niece.

Chris quietly walked entered the kitchen and wrapped his arms around your waist. You smiled at the feeling of his big arms around your waist and the heat coming from his chest.

“Hello there.” You said as you dried your hands on kitchen towel.

“Hi.” He whispered and kissed your cheek.

You turned around in his arms and looked up at him. “Is she asleep?” You wrapped your arms around his neck.

“Yep, she was out in no time.” Chris explained.

“Good! Now I have you to myself.” You told him as you stood on your tiptoes to kiss him. You hated to admit that you were sometimes jealous of the attention Olivia got, but it was fine by you because that meant he accepted her.

You kissed him with a smile, his hands rubbed small circles on your hips. He pulled away and smiled down at you.

“You are amazing, you know that right?” He questioned.

“No, I think you need to tell me again.” You blushed.

“I will tell you everyday, if you want me too.” Chris kissed your forehead.

“Mmm, that sounds nice.” You smiled. He hugged you tight against him. “Want to watch a movie?”

Chris nodded and walked with you to the couch. Chris sat in the corner of the large sectional while you grabbed the remote. You sat down beside him and curled into his side.

You started scrolling through Netflix and happened upon one of the movies Chris starred in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”

“How about that?” You asked jokingly.

“Absolutely not!” He laughed and snatched the remote from your hand. You giggled as Chris began to search. He immediately went in search of a Disney movie, and you didn’t protest a bit. Hercules appeared on the screen and you couldn’t contain the small noise of excitement that escaped you when you saw it.

Chris chuckled. “Hercules it is!” He clicked the movie and you both settled in to enjoy the Disney favorite.

Three weeks had passed and you were packing your bags for filming. You ended up not getting someone to keep Olivia. She was three months old and in three months she had been through enough. You decided that it was just better to bring her with you. Everyone was used to her, so it wasn’t a problem.

It was around four in the morning and you were getting dressed to head to the airport. The first location of filming was New York. You were trying not to wake Olivia as you got ready.

Over the last three week, your routine became more natural. You figured out different cries from Olivia and what she wanted. She even began to recognize things. It was an amazing thing to watch her reach different milestones.

She would move her head to follow the toys in front of her. When Olivia would lay on her tummy, she would push-up on her arms and hold her head up. Chris was over at your apartment when she first held her head up.

Olivia is on the floor on her stomach, and you are next to her. Chris is laying on the couch, half asleep. You and Chris have become even closer over the last few weeks. Olivia is cooing and wiggling on the floor. You think you are seeing things when her head first lifts off the play mat. You start watching her intently. She does it again, raising her head just barely off the floor.

“Chris!” You call out excitedly.

He shoots up from the couch. “Huh! What?” He questions.

“She’s is holding her head up!” You smile up at him. He moves down to the floor and lays on his stomach facing her. She turns her head and looks at Chris while holding her head up.

“Good job Livie!” Chris coos at her with a smile.

Chris had become your best friend in a way. He was always willing to hang out or get you something if you needed it. Sometimes you would makeup something just so he would come over.

You finished getting dressed and began taking all the luggage down to your car. Once you finished that it was almost five and you needed to be leaving for the airport.

You hated to do it, but you had to get Olivia up and changed. You gently picked her up and laid her on your bed. You changed her diaper and put her in a clean onesie to travel in, normally she would have worn a cute outfit but it was just the airport. Luckily after changing her, she went back to sleep. You strapped her in her car seat and turned off all the lights. You locked your front door and headed for the car.

After getting in your car, you felt your phone buzz. You checked it and it was a message from Chris making sure you were up. You smiled at your phone. He was just too sweet. You responded that you were up and on your way to the airport.

You arrived at the airport and got inside. You found the gate for your flight. The entire flight was booked out for cast and crew. Chris was already at the gate half asleep in a chair. You set your bag beside him and it made a slight thud. He opened his eyes and looked around.

“Good morning sleepyhead!” You beamed at Chris with a smile. He smiled back at you. Olivia was strapped into the chest carrier around your torso.

“Good morning to you two beautiful girls.” You blushed at his words. You turned around, so your back was to Chris, he got the hint and reached up to undo the buckle of the carrier.

You gently got Olivia out and passed her to Chris. She was also half asleep. She yawned as she laid against Chris’s chest. It was almost as if that was her safe place. “Oh yeah Livie, I feel you.” Chris chuckled.

You sat down beside Chris and smiled as he held Olivia. “You better be careful. People will be taking pictures and posting that you have a secret child.” You laughed.

Chris continued to rub Olivia’s back until she was fully asleep again. “People can’t ever mind their own business.” He said.

“I think that comes in the job description.”

He laughed softly. You both sat at the gate talking until it was time to board the plane. You found a seat and sat down with Olivia in your arms. It was a row of three seats, you were in the window seat. Chris made his way down the aisle and plopped down into the aisle seat of your row.

“You couldn’t help yourself, could you?” You teased.

“No, I needed to be next to the two most beautiful girls.” Chris smirked.

Scarlett poked her head up from the row behind you. “Excuse you?” She quirked her eyebrow.

“Sorry, sorry. Correction, the three most beautiful girls.” You all laughed.

You knew how good of a relationship Scarlett and Chris had, and it was fun to watch at times. They were close and you didn’t mind it.

Everyone boarded the flight and take off began. The flight was easy. Olivia was as easy going as the first time you flew with her. A couple hours later, the plane landed in New York. Everyone made it off the flight and through the airport to the vans waiting outside. Chris was ushered onto a van with the cast, while you and Olivia were put on a van with the stunt crew. You got Olivia’s car seat and strapped her in.  The luggage was loaded and the vans left for the hotel.

Chris powered his phone on and it began to blow up with notifications from Twitter and text messages with screenshots of pictures. Just like you said, people had taken pictures of him holding Olivia and playing with her this morning in the airport.

“So has @ChrisEvans been keeping a secret?”

“Does @ChrisEvans have a secret?”

“🤨🤨🤨 @ChrisEvans”

“@ChrisEvans with a baby!😍 my ovaries are exploding”

“Daddy!😍😍😍 @ChrisEvans”

Chris ignored the posts on twitter and the text messages. He decided he wasn’t going to tell you because he knew it would make you feel bad and you would blame yourself.

Once you were at the hotel, you grabbed your large suitcase and held Olivia’s car seat in the other hand. You began trudging for the elevator. Chris rushed up beside you and took your suitcase from your hand.

“You know you could ask for help.” He stated as the elevator doors opened.

“I know, but I don’t like bothering people.” You said adjusting the grip in the car seat handle. He shook his head and laughed.

“You are stubborn.” He teased.

“What? Can’t handle it?” You smirked up at him.

“Oh, I can handle it just fine, baby girl.” Your cheeks turned bright red at the sound of the pet name. You were glad it was just you two and Olivia in the elevator. While in the elevator, you could hear Chris’s phone dinging over and over again.

“Is your phone ringing?” You questioned.

“No, it’s probably just emails.” He said looking in front of him.

“Are you sure?” You looked up at him.

“I’m sure.” Chris said. It continued buzzing. You reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. “Y/N, it’s nothing.”

You looked at the screen and saw a picture from the airport this morning and 15 notifications from Twitter.

“We’re you going to tell me?” You asked.

“No, I didnt want you to think it was your fault or for you to feel bad.” Chris stated.

“Well, it is my fault! And I do feel bad!” You sighed. “If I hadn’t handed Olivia to you, no one would have taken pictures of you and rumors wouldn’t be spreading that you have a secret child!”

The elevator sounded as you reached the tenth floor. You stepped off and walked to your door.

“Chris, I’m so sorry! I don’t want to make your life anymore complicated than it already is. So if you change your mind about waiting, I’ll understand.” You said as you pushed open your door.

Chris followed you in with your luggage. You set Olivia’s car seat on the bed.

“Y/N, you and Olivia do not complicate anything. Like you said, it’s in the job description.” He said looking down at you. “I want you and I want Olivia. The fact that you’re handling all this so well, makes me want you even more. You are so strong and you are being a hero in my opinion. I will wait as long as I have too.” Chris kissed your forehead.

You just looked up at him. “I don’t think you’re human.” You said. Chris laughed. “You are an Angel.”

“I’m not an angel.” He said. You smiled at him.

“How are you going to handle the rumors?”

“Don’t worry about that.” He pressed a kiss to your forehead.

Monday morning arrived, and you were up groaning at the sound of your alarm that surprisingly didn’t wake the baby. You made some breakfast and packed the diaper bag before Olivia woke up. You didn’t have enough time to find a babysitter, so Olivia joined you at work, you cleared it with everyone first.

Olivia woke up just as you finished getting dressed. With your job, leggings, dry-fit shirts, and tennis shoes were your go-to. You got the crying baby from the crib and calmed her down. You changed her diaper and fed her.

After getting her dressed, you both headed for the car. You pulled into set parking and got out. You grabbed the diaper bag and the car seat. Olivia had fallen asleep on the drive over.

You walked in the door and into the stage area where all the padding and mats were set up for practicing stunt and fight scenes. You saw Erin and some of the stunt performers. You walked over with a small smile. “Morning!”

They smiled and said good morning. You set the car seat down as Olivia started to wake up.

“Why do you have a baby?” One of the stunt performers asked. Erin shot him a look.

“This is my niece. If you have a problem you can take it up with my sister.” You said. “Oh wait, she’s dead.” You snapped at the guy.

You weren’t in a bad mood so to say, but definitely weren’t in the best of moods. Olivia had cried until 3 o’clock in the morning and you had been clueless on what to do. So you just held her until she decided she had done enough crying and fell asleep. Which meant you only slept for a few hours and it wasn’t even a deep sleep.

You sat and talked with the other coordinators and some of the performers until the cast started to arrive. Scarlett and Chris were the first to arrive. You were sitting in a chair holding Olivia while she had her second bottle of the day. Scarlett got closer and realized it was you.

She gasped. “Y/N, who is this cutie?” She asked looking down at the baby.

You jumped slightly not noticing her. “Oh gosh! You scared me!” You laughed as you looked up at her. “This is Olivia.”

“You never mentioned you had a baby.” Scarlett says.

“Umm, well, because two weeks ago I didn’t have a baby.” You laughed softly. “She is my niece.” You went on to explain the entire situation. Scarlett, of course, gave you her sympathies.

Chris came up behind you and started making faces down at Olivia. She quit taking the bottle and started cooing. You tilted your head back and met Chris’s blue eyes. He was laughing and smiling.

He reached down and took Olivia from you. She started to gurgle and coo loudly. “Hello to you too, Olivia.”

Scarlett laughed. “I take it they’ve met?”

“Yeah.” You nodded. “He met me after I got back from Atlanta, and he helped out with some things.”

“He did?” She raised her eyebrow. “What did he help with?”

You laughed softly. “Well, he went baby shopping with me, and he put together Olivia’s crib.” Scarlett nodded and laughed.

“Well it’s good to know he’s good for something.” Scarlett teased.

Chris ignored her as he finished feeding Olivia. “Olivia seems to like him, so.”

“I can see.” Scarlett said. She walked over to Chris and stole Olivia from him. Chris spouted and walked over to you.

“And how is the second most beautiful girl?” Chris bent down to your level.

“Second?” You raised your eyebrow.

“Yeah, Livie is the obviously the first.” He laughed.

You smiled at him. “I’m fine, just tired.”

“Did you not sleep last night?”

“I tried.” You let out a breath. “But Olivia wouldn’t sleep. I tried to put her down at 6:30 and she didn’t go to sleep until three this morning.”

“Well, if she doesn’t sleep tonight, call me and I’ll come hang out with you.” Chris smirked.

“Chris, I’m not calling you in the middle of the night to come hang out just because Olivia won’t sleep.” You laughed.

“Why not?” He smirked. You smiled at him and shook your head.

“Chris Evans, you are something else.” You thought.

Soon everyone had arrived and the day began. It was a big adjustment having Oliva on set. She did not want to lay in her car seat at all. Every time you tried to lay her down, she would cry. So, you ended up having to hold Olivia and try to show the performers and actors what you wanted them to do.

“Hold on. I don’t like that.” You stopped Scarlett and one of the stunt performers. Olivia was asleep on your shoulder. “Scarlett, I want you to try this.”

You tried to explain it without having to show her, but it just didn’t work. Chris came up behind you and took Olivia. You nodded a thank you to him then continued to explain what you wanted from Scarlett.

12:30 rolled around and that meant lunch. You had spent most of the morning working with Scarlett on her different  scenes. You found Chris in a darker spot of the building.

“Chris, what are you doing?” You asked.

“Shhh. She’s asleep.” He walked over, and Olivia was asleep against his shoulder with her pacifier in her mouth.

You shook your head at him. “Well it’s 12:30, you should go eat. I’ll take her.” You reached for her.

“I’m not really hungry.” He stated as he looked down at Olivia.

“Chris, we are working a lot with you after lunch. You need to go eat. And Olivia needs her bottle.” You said to Chris.

“I just fed her.” He smiled at you. “You were with Scarlett and you looked like you were in the grove, so I did it.”

You couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Well, thank you. My list of debts to you continues grow. Now, please give me my baby and go eat.”

“And what about you? Who’s going to make sure you eat?” He raised his eyebrow as he passed Olivia over to you.

“I have a protein bar.” You told him.

“That’s not lunch.” Chris stated. “Come with me to get lunch.”

“Chris, I wish I could, but we have a meeting with the director.”

Chris sighed and nodded. “Alright.” He started to walk away, but came back.

“What?” You raised your eyebrow. Without a word, Chris gently kissed your cheek then headed for the door.

You couldn’t stop smiling as you walked to your bag. You didn’t want to tell Chris no, but you had a meeting with the stunt crew and the director.

Thankfully, Olivia slept through the entire meeting. After that, you changed her diaper and waited for the cast to return. It was just you, Olivia and a few other people, but they were on the opposite side of the room.

Olivia was awake and laying on a blanket on one of the pads. You were sitting beside her. She cooed as she held onto a rubber toy.

Chris walked in the door and immediately spotted you. He walked over with a bag from a cafe in his hand.

He handed you the bag without saying anything then began to play with Olivia.

“Chris, what is this?” You asked opening the bag.

He shrugged not even looking at you. You huffed and rolled your eyes. Inside the bag was a grilled chicken Caesar salad.

“Chris, you didn’t have to do this” You laughed. Chris smiled down at Olivia.

“That is better than a lame protein bar.” He said. “And, if I remember from the first time we worked together, you probably didn’t even eat your protein bar.” He gave you a stern look as he picked up Olivia.

Chris wasn’t wrong. In the beginning of your career, you had a knack for forgetting to eat lunch, and you hated to admit, but it was something you were still prone to doing.

You looked down in shame, letting Chris know he was right. You went to grab your protein bar then one of your co-workers called you name, and then Olivia woke up after the meeting. After looking at the food in the bag, your stomach was growling.

“Thank you.” You said glancing at Chris. He just smiled and nodded. You ate the salad before the rest of the cast arrived.

The last half of the day went well. Olivia decided she would lay in her car seat and play with her toys. You kept the car seat close by, so you could keep an eye on her.

Finally, the day ended and you were strapping Olivia into the car seat to take her to the car.

“Hey Y/N!” Scarlett called out. You turned around to face her. “Here is short list of some the people I’ve used to watch my kids and my number is on there. So if you need something, let me know.”

You smiled at her. “Thank you Scarlett. This means a lot. Y’all have been the best to me through all this and I can’t thank you enough.”

“No need to thank me.” She smiled. “You’ve worked hard in the last few weeks, so this is my way of repaying you.” Scarlett chuckled.

After talking to Scarlett, you grabbed the diaper bag and picked up Olivia in her car seat. “Alright Livie, lets go home.”

You walked out into the parking lot and unlocked your car. You put Olivia in and shut the door. It was just after 6 o’clock, so your plan was to pick something up on the way home.

You were opening your car door when you heard your name being called. You knew it was Chris and you couldn’t help but smile. He jogged over with a smile. “I just wanted to tell you that you did an awesome job today with having to balance Olivia and such an active job.”

You blushed and smiled. “Thank you Chris. Hopefully next week I will have found a sitter.”

“Oh come on now, you know everyone enjoyed having her around.” He chuckled.

“You might have enjoyed her, but not everyone did.” You sighed.

“You know getting a sitter will be pointless. Because in three weeks we start filming and you’ll be traveling for that.” He said.

You weren’t sure what Chris’s angle was, but he had a point.

“I know, but even if it is just for three weeks, it will be easier on everyone. I will definitely think about it though.”

He nodded. “Have a good night, and I’ll see you in the morning.” Chris leaned over and kissed your cheek for the second time that day.

You smiled at him. “You too, Chris.”

He walked off, and you got into your car. You picked up Chinese for dinner then you drove home. You got inside and took Olivia out of her car seat. You let her lay on the floor on a blanket, so she could stretch out and play, and you could eat.

You ate pretty quickly then attempted to put Olivia to bed. It took some time, but you got her to sleep, that you were thankful for.

You showered and laid around in the living room for a while. You were concentrating on flipping between channels when you heard your phone buzz against the coffee table.

Chris- “Hey, I’m sorry about what I said earlier. I don’t know what I was trying to accomplish with that. I just like having Olivia around. She brightens up the whole place. I’ve just been thinking that I was kind of a jerk.”

You- “It’s ok. I didn’t think you are a jerk.”

Chris- “Ok good. I don’t want to mess things up between us and I thought maybe I had.”

You- “I think it would take more than a silly comment to mess things up. I know you meant well.”

Chris- “Ok. I feel better now. Is Olivia asleep?”

You- “Yeah, she’s been down for about thirty minutes. I’m not far behind her.”

Chris- “Good, I’m glad she’s asleep. I’ll see you in the morning. Good night:)”

You- “Good night”

You quietly went into your room and got in bed. You fell asleep with a smile on your face, thinking of Chris

“How much did you hear?” Chris asked as his cheeks turned red.

“Enough.” You said with a smile. “Do you mean that?”

“Yes, Y/N, every word. You are kind, you are caring, and you are absolutely beautiful.” Chris walked over to you, smiling like a child. Olivia was fast asleep against his chest.

You glanced down at Olivia then back up at Chris. “Chris, I like you. I really do, but with every thing that has happened in the last week, I need some time.”

“Y/N, I will give you as much time as you need. And when you’re ready, I’ll be here.” He smiled at you.

You smiled brightly. Finally, in all the darkness you’ve felt over the last week, your light was standing in front of you. “You’re amazing, you know that right?” You asked rhetorically with a laugh.

“I’ve been told that, but I don’t see it.” He flashed you a grin. “Here, you take Olivia, and I’ll go work on the crib. You just need to tell me where to put it.”

You gently took your sleeping niece from Chris. “Right, I guess it needs to go in my bedroom.”

Chris began dragging the box to your bedroom to assemble the crib. You followed him into the bedroom and flipped the lights on. Your room wasn’t huge but it had enough room to add the crib, if you moved some things around.

“Maybe if you move your desk out to the living room and slide your bed over, that will give you plenty of space to put the crib against that wall.” Chris stood by the door with his hands on hips.

“Alright Cap, do as you must.” You said with a laugh. Chris chuckled and looked at you. “You’re probably going to need my help, so I’m going to lay her in the car seat and bring it in here.”

Chris nodded as you left the room. You laid Olivia down in the car seat and brought it your room. Chris was moving things off your desk, so it would be easier to move. You put the car seat out of the way.

You and Chris moved the desk out of your room and into the living room. After moving your bed around, Chris started working on the crib. You picked up Olivia, who was now awake, and sat on the bed.

“I’m glad you offered to do that, because I would have had a melt down just looking at the box.” You said with a laugh. Olivia was laying on the bed gurgling. “Livie agrees with me.”

Chris laughed as he turned to look at you. “It’s not too hard. This is not the first time I’ve put together one of these.” He smiled at you.

Within an hour, the crib was put together. You put the mattress in and the sheets on. You set up the baby monitor as well. “Thank you Chris.” You smiled up at him as he admired his handy work.

“Quit saying that. It’s getting repetitive.” He said with a laugh.

Before you could get a word out, Olivia started cooing loudly. You both laughed and walked over to her. She was cooing and flailing her arms and legs.

“Someone is a happy girl!” You said in a high pitch as you tickled her sides. Olivia continued to coo as she looked up at you and Chris.

“You’re happy because I put your bed together, yeah?” He picked her up as she continued to coo. “Oh yeah, I completely understand.” Chris chuckled as he acted to have a conversation with cooing baby.

“Well, while y’all have your very intriguing conversation, I’m going order some pizza.” You patted Chris on the shoulder then kissed Olivia.

You grabbed your phone and found the number for your favorite pizza place. “Hey, what kind of pizza do you like?” You called out to Chris.

“I eat anything. Whatever you want to get is fine with me.”

You ordered a pepperoni pizza and a thing of garlic bread. After ordering the pizza, you began unpackaging everything you bought. Once everything was unboxed, you started reorganizing the cabinets to make room for everything. Chris heard the clanging of the plates, so he came into the kitchen.

“What are you doing?” He laughed as he watched you stand on a barstool to move things to a high shelf.

“I had to make room for all the stuff.” You said with a laugh. “By the way, I ordered pepperoni pizza and garlic bread.”

“Perfect.” He smiled. Chris was still holding Olivia. She was cooing and gurgling.

While you were continuing to reorganize, Chris continued to play with Olivia. You could hear them from the kitchen. Chris was talking to her, and she just giggled and cooed. It filled your stomach with butterflies and you couldn’t help but smile.

There was a knock at the door, Chris got up from the floor to answer the door, but you came running out of the kitchen, like a bat out of hell, and beat him to the door. You did not want him to pay for anything else. You grabbed money from your wallet and opened the door. You paid for the pizza then closed the door.

“I’m starving.” You said walking to the kitchen. Chris scooped up Olivia and followed you to the kitchen. You grabbed two plates from the cabinet then grabbed a bottle and formula.

You passed Chris a plate then began to mix Olivia’s bottle. Once you finished mixing it, you went to reach for Olivia.

“I want to do it.” Chris sounded like a little kid. You laughed and handed him the bottle.

“Alright.” You laughed. You opened the pizza box and grabbed two slices and a bread stick.

You fixed a plate for Chris and placed it in front of him while he fed Olivia. He was sitting on a barstool, so you sat next to him.

You watched as he was able to feed Olivia and feed himself at the same time. “Now that is talent.” You smiled at him.

Chris chuckled. “I’ve had practice.” You smiled and continued working on your pizza.

“Well, you will have to show me. I’m very inexperienced.”

“I will be happy too.”

You blushed a little and finished your pizza. Olivia finished her bottle, and you offered to burp her so Chris could finish eating. He passed her to you.

“Now Livie we are going to have a problem if you spit up on me again.” You told her as you laid her on your shoulder. You patted her back until she burped. You made it away clean this time.

Olivia started to yawn and get fussy. “I’m guessing that means, she is tired.”

Chris nodded in agreement as he finished his pizza. You stood up and carried her to your room. You made sure she had a clean diaper before putting her pajama onesie on her. She began to cry more. You put her pacifier in her mouth, held her against you and began to hum softly.

It took about ten minutes, but after that she was out. You laid her down in the crib and quietly left the room, grabbing the monitor as you did.

Chris was cleaning up the kitchen and putting the pizza away. “I could have done that.” You said walking over to him.

“I know, but you were putting Olivia down.” He said walking over closer to you. You smiled up at him.

“Thank-“ Chris cut you off with a kiss. You instantly kissed back. Chris’s hand rested at your waist. He pulled away.

“I told you to stop saying that.” He smirked. “I also wanted you to know what’s waiting for you.”

You blushed every shade of red. “Were you hoping that would speed up the waiting?”

“No, not at all. I just really wanted to kiss you.” He said ducking his head. “But I won’t do it again, if it made you uncomfortable or makes you think I’m trying to rush you.” He started to ramble.

“Chris, I’m not uncomfortable and I don’t think you’re rushing me.” You said placing your hand on his arm.

“Ok good.” He smiled at you. “I should probably head out, so you can get ready for bed. Your sleep schedule may turn to shit.” He laughed softly.

“Oh Chris, don’t jinx me.” You joked. You walked with him to the door. He smiled at you as he opened your apartment door.

“I really like being around you.” Chris said. “And Olivia is definitely a plus.”

You smiled up at him. “I really like having you around.”

He leaned down and kissed your cheek. “I’ll see you on Monday. Call me if you need anything.” Chris walked out, and you were left on cloud nine.

“What?” You looked at your mom in utter shock. Your mother dropped a bomb on you, well at least that’s what it felt like.

“I know, it’s a shock, and with your career you don’t need a baby.” Your mom said. You looked down at your niece as she cooed in your arms. She didn’t deserve any of what was happening.

“No, I-“ You stopped. “I will take her. I know you and dad are capable, but I think it would be better for everyone if I took her.”

“Honey, are you sure? Your career is taking off and you have such odd hours.” Your mother was just wanting to make sure you knew you had options.

“I’m sure.” You said. “If that’s what she wanted then that’s what I will do.” You kissed your niece on her chubby cheeks and she giggled.

Your mom nodded. “Alright hun.” She squeezed your hand again.

You ate breakfast, and felt like your haze was getting thicker. Most of the day was spent sitting around and talking. Your parents went and made arrangements for your sister’s funeral.

You texted Chris throughout the day, but you never told him about your niece. As the day progressed, you needed to tell someone. Finally, you messaged Chris and asked if you could call him. He, of course, said yes.

You tapped the phone icon under his name and it began ringing. You were sitting on the back patio as Olivia napped in her swing.

“Hey Y/N! How are you doing?” He asked.

“Umm, well I was doing better until my mom informed me of something.” You told Chris.

“What was the news? I’m guessing it was something big.” Chris asked, genuinely wanting to know what was bothering you.

“My sister has appointed me to become the legal guardian of my niece. She never told me she was doing that.” You admitted to Chris. “She’s two months old.”

“Oh.” Chris was unsure of what to say.

“I know I just unloaded that on you, but I needed to tell someone. And you were the only person who knows what’s going on.” You sighed.

“Well, umm-” Chris stuttered. You could tell Chris was struggling. “I’ll help you figure things out.”

“Chris, you don’t have to do that. I also wouldn’t even know where to start.” You told him.

“Y/N, you are going to need help. Let me help you.” Chris said.

You sighed. “Alright, alright. I will accept your help.”

“Good because you were going to get it any way.”

Your niece began to cry. You stuck the phone between your shoulder and your ear and went to pick her up. “Shh, it’s ok, it’s ok. Aunt Sissy is here.” You sat down in your chair.

“Aunt Sissy?” Chris questioned. You forgot he could hear you.

“Yes, when my sister and I were little kids she couldn’t say my name, so she called me sissy. So, we figured why not be Aunt sissy.” You explained to him.

“I like it.” He said. “I’m just plain ole Uncle Chris.” He laughed.

“There’s nothing wrong with that.” You told him.

You and Chris talked for a few more minutes then you ended the call. Your parents came home after a while. You and your niece were both asleep on the couch.

The next few days were a blur. You attended the funeral of your sister and finalized documents to become the legal guardian of your niece.

It had been a week. You knew you had to get back to L.A. and back to work. It was Friday morning and you were able to book a flight back to L.A. for the next morning, but this time you had to mark that you were flying with a baby. You were slightly dreading the flight home. Five hours on a plane with a two month old, that was definitely uncharted waters for you.

That night, you packed your suitcase and Olivia’s things. You told your parents to keep everything your sister had bought at there house. You would just have to buy new things after you were back in L.A.

That night, you couldn’t sleep. Your mind just wouldn’t shut down. Every scenario, good and bad, were going through your head. You checked the clock and it was almost 3 a.m. You groaned and just stared at the ceiling. You weren’t sure when, but eventually you fell asleep.

7 a.m. rolled around much quicker than you wanted it too. You groaned as you turned your alarm off. You got up, got dressed, and finished off both yours and your nieces packing.

You woke Olivia up, fed her, and got her dressed for the flight. Your nerves were still on end wondering how the flight was going to go. Your dad helped bring your things to the car as you loaded everything.

“Are you going to be ok?” Your dad asked.

“I think I will be fine.” You told him. “I have a friend who is already offering to help me.”

He nodded as he closed the back of the car. You both walked inside to get Olivia.

Your parents drove you to the airport. They kissed Olivia goodbye then you.

“Call us, no matter what time, if you need anything.” Your mom said. You nodded and hugged her. You were grateful that your sister had purchased one of the infant carriers that you wear, so your hands were free. It was an odd feeling, walking around with a baby. People looked at you when normally no one would look your way.

You got your boarding pass and headed to your gate. After grabbing a coffee and a muffin, you sat down at your gate. You audibly sighed when you sat down. You looked down at Olivia, she was fast asleep. You ate your muffin and drank your coffee before your boarded your flight.

While you were waiting at the gate, your phone rang. You looked down and it was Chris. You slide over on the screen to answer and put the phone to your ear.

“Hello?” You asnwered.

“Good morning Y/N! What are you up too?” Chris asked.

“I’m at the airport waiting on my flight.” You said. “Chris isn’t it like 6 a.m. in L.A.?” You questioned.

He glanced at his alarm clock. “Oh yeah, it is. I just woke up and I thought since we didn’t talk much yesterday, I’d give you a call.”

You smiled. “Why are you up at 6 on a Saturday? I’d be sleeping until noon.” You laughed softly.

“I don’t even know why myself.” He laughed. “I went to bed pretty early last night, so maybe that’s why.”

“Well, I was the opposite. I didn’t go to sleep until 3 then I woke up at 7 and was at the airport by 9.”

“Wow! You made it to the airport in an that amount of time with a baby? That’s impressive.” Chris commended you.

“Yeah, I guess I did. It wasn’t that bad. I got up, got dressed, dressed Olivia and my dad drove us to the airport. It’s a 45 minute drive from my parents house to the airport.” You told Chris.

“How is Olivia doing?” He asked. You smiled to yourself. Most people probably wouldn’t ask.

“She’s doing well, I think. I can ask, but I don’t know if I would get a response.” You laughed softly as did Chris. “I’m worried about the time change though. For an adult, you just take a nap and all will be fine. I don’t know how it affects a baby.” You admitted to Chris.

Over the week, you realized you felt something towards him. You didn’t want to admit to yourself what that was, but you would admit it was something.

“I don’t really know.” He said with a sigh.

“Chris, I’m worried. I don’t know anything about babies. I know they are cute and you have to change their diapers, but that’s it!” You said to him.

“Well, my sisters have a few kids and I know a little bit about babies. I will be glad to help you out.” Chris assured you.

“Thank you.” You smiled. Your conversation continued for another twenty minutes. You talked about work and how you were doing.

Your flight was being announced so you had to say goodbye. “I’ll be back in L.A. around lunch.” You told Chris before ending the call.

You grabbed your backpack and stood. It was different now that you had Olivia with you. People were more careful around you, they seemed to take notice of your prescense.

Your parents paid for your flight home and they booked using Delta so your seat was classified as Comfort plus. You had a bit more room than a normal seat, which was nice considering you were traveling with a baby. You got comfortable and removed the carrier, it was kind of a relief.

The flight attendants were super helpful and even offered you some tips after you admitted you had never flown with a baby. Right as the flight began to take off, Olivia began crying.

You started panicking. You knew it was probably the pressure in her ears from the takeoff because you felt it in your own ears. You reached into the diaper bag and grabbed a bottle.

You clicked the button on the bottle to drop the powder into the water. You shook the bottle then held it for Olivia. She immediately calmed down and started eating. You sighed in relief. After her bottle, you burped her and she fell asleep almost instantly.

The rest of the flight was calm. You changed her diaper, fed her again, and she slept. Finally, you landed in L.A.

You made your way into the airport to grab your luggage and Olivia’s car seat. Once you had everything, you made it to your car. You loaded Olivia’s car seat then her, then your luggage.

You finally got into your car and took a deep breath. “We made it Livie.” You grabbed your phone and texted Chris that you had landed and were headed home.

Thirty minutes later, you were pulling into your apartment. You somehow manage to get everything into your apartment in one trip. You took Olivia out of her car seat and she stretched and yawn. “Girly, you must like to sleep.” You laughed as you laid her down the couch cushion beside you.

You checked your phone and saw a message from Chris.

Chris- “Good. If you don’t mind, I wanted to stop by later. Only if it’s ok with you.”

You- “Of course! I would really like that.”

Olivia started cooing and gurgling. “What are you saying Livie? Are you excited to meet Chris?” You laughed. She continued to gurgle.

Chris- “I’ll be there in about an hour.”

You- “Alrighty! See you soon!”

As you were waiting on Chris, you started smelling something, and you knew exactly where it was coming from. You look over at Olivia. She had this grin on her face looking back at you.

“You are something else.” You laughed and went to grab the diaper bag. You laid the changing mat down on the floor then Olivia. You unbuttoned the onesie and started holding your breath. There was a knock at the door right as you undid the diaper.

You knew it had to be Chris. “Come in!” You called out. The door opened and Chris smiled at you.

“Am I interrupting something?” He laughed.

You shook your head and laughed. “No, you’re not interrupting.” You finished changing Olivia’s diaper without any sort of disaster. So, you patted yourself on the back for that.

You picked her up off the floor and disposed of the diaper. You went back to the living room where Chris was standing.

“Chris, I’d like you to meet Olivia.” You said smiling as you held her. “I call her Livie.” Chris smile down at her.

“May I?” He reached for her.

“Of course!” You gently passed her to Chris.

“Hello Olivia!” He cooed at the baby as she giggled.

You smiled at him and sat down. As you watched him hold Olivia, your buried feelings started to surface. You looked at his arms and how much smaller Olivia seemed in them.

She gurgled and cooed as she looked Chris. “She must like you.” You teased him.

“You think?” He raised his eyebrow and smiled at you. “She’s beautiful like her aunt.”

You blushed. “I bet her mom was beautiful too.” Chris said sitting down on the couch.

“She was.”

He looked at you then down at Olivia who was yawning. “I think someone is sleepy.” He chuckled.

“I bet.” After you said that, you began thinking you didn’t have anything you needed for Olivia. No crib, no changing table, no diapers, no nothing. Chris noticed your expression changed in a matter seconds.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

“I don’t have anything she needs, Chris. I have a car seat and a diaper bag.” You said putting your face in your hands.

“Well then let’s go. Let’s get Olivia everything she needs.” Chris smiled at you.

“What? Now?” You looked up at him.

“Yeah. We can go to Target, Walmart. I don’t know, we will find somewhere.”

You sighed and nodded. “Ok.”

Olivia was asleep in Chris’s arms. You walked over and grabbed the car seat. You sat it on the coffee table in front of Chris. He gently placed Olivia into the car seat and strapped her in.

You smiled watching him do it. He was gentle with her. The way he smiled at Olivia as he buckled her in made your heart melt.

“Alright, lets go.” He said as he stood up. “You can just get a few of the essential things. A crib, diapers, wipes, formula, bottles.” He listed them off.

You nodded. You went to grab the handle of the car seat but Chris stopped you. “Let me.” He said.

He grabbed the handle and carried the car seat to your car. He locked the car seat into place then shut the door quietly. You were sitting in the driver’s seat waiting. He leaned down.

“I know you’re tired, so I’ll be driving.” You gave him a soft smile and willingly went around to the passenger side.

Over the next couple of hours, you, Chris and Olivia shopped for the essentials. You decided on a simple, white crib, nothing extravagant at the moment. You picked up several sets of pink sheets for the crib.

As you shopped, people were giving you odd looks. Who wouldn’t? Two people with a baby shopping for baby things now, that’s technically backwards. But, you paid no mind to the people in the stores.

The shopping ended and you three headed back to your apartment. It’s was around five in the afternoon when you got all the boxes and bags inside.

While shopping, you saw a swing and you knew how much Olivia loved her swing at your parents. You told your self you wouldn’t get it right now, but you looked down at Olivia and caved. That was the first thing put together.

Everything was inside the apartment. Chris was setting down the last bag as you held Olivia on the couch.

“Chris, I can’t thank you enough.” You smiled at him as he walked over and sat beside you. “I don’t know how I’m going to repay you for everything you’ve done for me and now Olivia.”

“Y/N, you don’t have to repay me.” He said looking down at you. “Everything I’ve done, I did because I wanted to.”

A tear slid down your cheek. “No, no, no! Don’t cry.” He said wiping the tear. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry.”

“I know you didn’t. I don’t even know why I’m crying.” You said with a small laugh. “You have been so nice to me through out all of this, I’m also sleep deprived and still pretty emotional.”

Chris smiled at you. Before either of you could say anything, Olivia started to cry. You looked down at her and tried to figure out what she wanted. You checked her diaper and it was clean.

“Want me to make a bottle?” Chris asked standing up to reach for the diaper bag.

You nodded as you held Olivia’s pacifier in her mouth. She continued to cry. Chris mixed the bottle and warmed it.

“Here you go pretty girl!” He said replacing the pacifier with the bottle. She started sucking down the bottle. You laughed softly at how quickly she was eating.

As she ate, Chris sat down beside you. Your mind couldn’t help but wonder to the future. What if this was your future? You, Chris and a another baby. Maybe you did want something with Chris, but just not right at the moment. You need some time to adjust with Olivia. And if you were reading Chris right, he would wait until you were ready.

You glanced over at him. He was looking down at Olivia in your arms. She was almost done with the bottle. Her eyes were wide open and she was looking back at Chris.

“Oh yeah, I think she really likes you.” You laughed. “She can’t take her eyes off you. I don’t blame her though.” You smiled at him.

Chris blushed. “You don’t?” He raised his eyebrow.

“Not one bit.” You smiled.

Chris chuckled unsure of what to say. You quickly realized how forward you were.

“I’m sorry, that was very out of line.” You apologized.

“No, don’t apologize. It’s totally ok.” He said. “How I about I start putting together that crib?” Chris smiled. You nodded as your cheeks burned with embarrassment. Chris stood up and went to work.

Olivia finished her bottle, and your burped her. You heard her burp then felt something warm running down your shoulder. “Oh Livie! Why?” You groaned.

Chris turned his head and saw the problem. He walked over and took Olivia. He couldn’t help but laugh, just a little. “Olivia, why would you do that?” He wiped her face.

“I’m going to change shirts.” You turned and went to your room to find a clean shirt. When you returned, you found Chris with Olivia pressed to his chest as he swayed. You smiled watching the scene.

“You know Olivia, I really like your aunt. She’s so kind and loving and caring, but you already know that. And she’s absolutely beautiful.” Chris spoke to your niece.

Your cheeks flushed red as you listened to him go on. You cleared your throat and he quickly turned towards you.

“How much did you hear?”

Morning came and Chris’s phone was chiming every five seconds. He woke up, slightly confused by his surroundings. Chris shook his head and looked down at the weight he felt on his chest. You were asleep on top of him. Your head resting in the center of his chest. He tried to stay still so he didn’t wake you, but he failed. Your eyes fluttered open and you looked up at him. Chris could see how puffy and red your eyes were.

“Morning.” He said softly.

You smiled softly. “Morning.” Chris’s phone chimed again and he reached out to grab it. His phone was full of text notifications from Scarlett, his brother, and a few others.

“What time is it?” You sat up and looked at him.

“10:15.” Chris told you. You nodded and walked to the kitchen. You started brewing a pot of coffee then began searching for something to cure your hunger.

“Would you like some coffee?” You offered.

“Coffee sounds amazing.” Chris answered all his messages then joined you in the kitchen. “How are you this morning?”

“Umm, I honestly don’t know. I don’t know how to feel. I think maybe once I’m home and able to get closure I will be able to process my feelings clearly.” You told him as you handed him a mug filled with coffee. “I still feel like I’m in a haze. Like this is some sick episode of one of those prank shows.”

Chris wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to laugh, so he didn’t. He fixed his coffee to his liking then watched you as you moved about in the kitchen. He hated himself for picturing his future like this. You making breakfast as his just stands idly watching.

“Chris, I want to say thank you. You didn’t have to drive me home or stay the night with me, but you did. It shows how much you care even though we have been friends for a short amount of time. So, thank you.” You walked over and kissed his cheek. His skin was set on fire by your kiss and he hated how much he was falling for you while you’re in such a vulnerable state.

You cooked bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast. Chris sat beside you at the bar as you both ate, silently. It wasn’t an awkward silence, it was peaceful and content like you had done it a million times.

He watched you from the door as you packed your suitcase. “Is there anyone at work that needs to know what is going on?” Chris asked. He didn’t want your job on the line over something out of your control.

“I forgot! I have to call Erin.” You said reaching for your phone. Erin was the other stunt coordinator for the movie. You told him about the emergency, not in full detail, but it was enough for him to get the picture.

You finished packing and checked the time, a quarter after one. You sighed and looked at Chris. “I guess I should get dressed and ready to leave.”

He nodded. “You’re right. I’ll leave you to it.” Chris turned and headed for the door. You followed.

“How are you going to get home?” You asked.

“I got an Uber, so I’m going to wait outside.”

“Chris, you don’t have to wait outside. You’ll get noticed in a heart beat, just stay up here until it gets here.” You said.

Chris’s heart skipped. He could tell you cared for him. You did, no doubt about it. He was kind to you from the moment you met. It didn’t hurt that he was attractive.

You got dressed and finished packing the last of your necessities. “Y/N!” Chris called out. “My uber is here.”

You joined him in the living room. “Thank you, again Chris.” You said to him as you wrapped your arms around him. He gently wrapped his arms around your waist.

“Anytime, doll.” He pulled away with a small smile. You kissed his cheek one more time then walked with him to the door. “Let me know when you’re back in town.” Chris said.

“How will I do that? I don’t have your number.” You stated.

He pulled out his phone and handed it to you. You entered your number then returned it. “Now I have yours. If you don’t mind, I plan on checking in on you.” Chris said. “Oh, that sounded stalkerish.” He couldn’t help but laugh and neither could you. “There’s that beautiful smile.” You blushed.

“I don’t mind, please check in on me.” You said with a grin. He nodded before making his way down to the parking lot.

It finally was time to head to the airport. You rolled your suitcase to the door and grabbed your backpack. Everything was ready for you to head to the airport. You turned off all the lights and locked your door. After loading your car, you drove straight to LAX.

You got inside the airport, through security and finally sat down in front of your gate. Your boarding pass was laying in your lap and you looked down at it. You started reading it and noticed it was a first class ticket. Then you started to think. Chris booked your flight, and you didn’t give him your credit card information. You reached the conclusion that he had paid for your flight. You felt terrible about it.

“Why would he do that?” You thought. You sighed and leaned your head back. Against the hard airport seat. And you couldn’t text him to complain because you don’t have his number.

Boarding for your flight began. You stood as your section was called. As you scanned your boarding pass, your phone chimed signaling a text. You decided to wait until you were situated on the plane before answering.

Once in your seat, you pulled your phone from your pocket. There was no name, just a number. Your knew it had to be Chris. You felt your heart rate pick up just slightly.

Message:

Unknown- “Hey Y/N! It’s Chris. I just wanted to check in, make sure you made it to the airport.”

You smiled after reading the message. You put his name in your contacts before responding.

You- “Hey. I made it to the airport and I’ve boarded my flight. I’m also mad at you at the moment. You booked me in first class and paid for my flight!”

Chris- “I’m glad you made it safely. Well you can be mad at me all you want. And don’t even think about trying to pay me back.”

You sighed and rolled your eyes. He had proven to be slightly difficult. You debated on how to respond. While you were debating the announcement to begin powering down devices sounded. You quickly typed your response.

You- “I’m going to repay you! We are getting ready to take off. I’ll let you know when I land.”

After sending the message you turned off your phone and put it away. You relaxed into your seat and just prepared for the flight ahead.

The flight home was just under five hours and you slept most of the way. You woke up just a few minutes before landing. As you landed, the feelings of the entire situation started to weigh on you.

You sighed as the plane touched down and began to taxi to the gate. After exiting the plane, you checked your phone. It was close to one in the morning. You texted your parents to let them know you had landed. You ordered an Uber as you walked to baggage claim.

You grabbed your suitcase and waited. While you waited, you debated on texting Chris. In your head it was late, it was 1 a.m. to you. Then you remembered it was only 10 p.m. in L.A.

You clicked his messages and began to type.

You- “Hey just letting you know, I made it to Atlanta. I’m waiting on my Uber now.”

You sent the text and closed your phone. Within a few minutes you received a response.

Chris- “Good! Glad you made it safely.”

Before you could respond, your Uber arrived. The driver helped you load your bags and you left the airport. It was a 45 minute drive to your parent’s house, so you pulled your phone out to text Chris.

As you started typing, Chris sent another message.

Chris- “What time is it there?”

You- “It’s 1 a.m. here. I feel like a zombie.”

Chris- “Damn, I bet you do.”

You- “I slept most of the flight but I think that added to my zombieness😂 but I’m still going to pass out as soon as I get in the bed.”

After sending the text, your eyes started feel heavy. You ended up falling asleep on the ride to your parent’s house.

Forty-five minutes later you pulled up in front of your parents house. You grabbed your luggage and walked to the front door. Using the key under the mat, you opened the door.

You walked in expecting everyone to be asleep, but your mom was sitting in the living room. You gasped seeing her in dimly lit room.

“Mom! You scared me!” You said quietly.

“Oh honey, I’m sorry. I was waiting up on you.” She said standing up to greet you at the door.

“Why? You didn’t have to do that.” You said hugging her tightly.

“I know, but I wanted too.” She squeezed you and kissed your cheek. “I know you’re tired, so I’ll let you head up to bed. We can talk in the morning.” She said before letting you go.

“Good night mama, I love you.” You told her before heading up stairs to your old bedroom.

“I love you too.” She said.

You went upstairs and sighed. You put your suitcase in the corner and flopped on the bed. Sliding your phone from your pocket, you see a message from Chris that was sent almost thirty minutes before.

Chris- “Well, I hope you sleep well when you finally make it to a bed.”

You- “Thank you! I just made it to my parent’s. I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Good night!”

Chris responded almost instantly.

Chris- “Good night!”

You put your phone on the charger and put your pajamas on. You crawled into the bed and passed out within a few minutes.

The next morning, you woke up around ten and went straight for the bathroom. You took a shower and washed away all the airport grime.

Once you were dressed, you made your way downstairs into the kitchen. Your mom was sitting at the kitchen table holding your two month old niece, Olivia. Your dad was standing at the stove making breakfast.

Seeing your niece instantly made you tear up. You sat down beside your mom as the tears slid down your cheeks. She reached over and held your hand. “We are going to make it through all this.”

You nodded. Your mother was a strong women and you knew that. She had always told you, “In hard times you have two options, to either hide under the covers and whither away or hold your head up and become a stronger person.”

Your niece began fussing and you reached to take her from your mom. You gently held her in your arms as she stopped fussing. “Y/N, we have some things that we need to talk about.” Your mother said.

“Like what?” You raised your eyebrow as your dad placed a plate of pancakes in front of you.

“Well, the papers left by your sister state in case of emergencies or death guardianship of Olivia will be given to you.”

You looked at your mother, speechless. “What?”

The first week of training with the cast was awesome. Everyone was open to your opinion on the different scenes. The cast themselves was something else. They welcomed you with open arms. You had worked with Chris Evans before on set of "Captain America: The First Avenger." It was nice to have a familiar face on set on the first day. The first week went by in a flash. Time flies when your having fun, isn't that the saying?

The week ended, and Chris invited you to join him and the rest of the cast for drinks. You debated on your answer until he flashed his signature smile, and you agreed. You were all sitting in a big corner booth, away from the front of the bar, laughing and joking. You sat between Chris and Scarlett. Chris was telling a story when your phone started ringing. You glanced down and noticed it was your mom. She never called that late, so you knew something was up. You excused yourself and slipped outside the bar to answer the phone.

While you were outside, the rest of the cast instantly gave Chris a look. "So, she is the girl from a couple a years ago?" Robert asked him. Chris raised his eyebrow and looked at him.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He said while a blush crept onto his cheeks.

The table erupted in laughter. "Well, even if it's not, the way you look at her obviously says you feel something." Scarlett smiled.

"I won't lie to you, she's cute, and she's kind-hearted, but she is also confident and bold and is not afraid to voice her opinion." Everyone at the table smiled at Chris's words.

You ended the call with your mother. The call was one, no one ever wants to receive in their life. Your sister had taken her life just two months after having a baby. Tears were streaming down your face as you walked to the table to retrieve your purse.

"Y/N, what's wrong?" Chris was the first to ask and the first to notice the tears. You wiped at your cheeks and sniffed. "Nothing, I just have to go." You said feeling bad for dampening the mood of the table.

Scarlett gave Chris a look. "Y/N, you can't drive home like this. At least let one of us drive you home." You didn't want to speak, knowing your voice would crack, so you nodded. Chris handed you your bag and wrapped his arm around your shoulder as he walked you out of the bar.

The two of you walked to your car. You passed him your keys before sliding into the passenger side of your vehicle. Your tears had stopped. Chris walked around to the driver's side and started the car.

"Y/N, I understand if you don't want to talk, but I want you to know that you can talk to me or Scarlett or any of us. We are a family." He placed his hand on your knee. How were you so lucky to have ended up in this friend group? You were just a stunt coordinator, not a big time actor.

You looked at him, and your walls collapsed. The tears started flowing, and a sob escaped. "My- my- my sister, she- she's dead." You gasped as the tears spilled over. Chris hugged you as best as he could, being separated by the console.

He didn't ask any more questions. He let you tell him what you wanted him to know. Your head was spinning, but it was calming to have Chris there holding you.

Once you felt you had calmed down, you pulled away. Chris took that as his cue to start driving. "Umm, exactly where is home for you?" Chris asked.

You took a breath and gave him your address. He nodded and started in the direction of your apartment complex. By the time he reached the parking lot, you had stopped crying. Your body was beginning to settle into the shock of the whole situation. Chris helped you out of the car and up to your apartment. He opened your door after figuring out the right key.

You started to feel like you were in a haze like it was all a dream. You were very close with your sister. You were two peas in a pod, you thought she told you everything.

Chris's voice drew you out of your head. "Scarlett is going to pick me up, but she said it may be an hour or so. They got caught by a crowd of fans." Chris said as he closed the door. You nodded and turned to go down the hall to your room. "So, if it's ok with you, I'm just going to hang out on the couch."

"I need to book a flight home." You mumbled out.

"What?" Chris walked towards you.

"I need to book a flight home." You repeated. Chris nodded and walked to your laptop on the kitchen counter. It was still open, so he took it upon himself to book you a flight. "Atlanta." You said as he began typing.

"The earliest flight to Atlanta is tomorrow at 5 p.m." Chris looked at you as you continued to stand in the hallway. "That's fine." You confirmed. Chris booked your flight, and without hesitation, he paid for the flight. He made his way over to you.

"You should go shower and try to clear your head," Chris said as he looked down at you. You could tell he was trying to help and comfort you, but without ever being faced with this problem, he was unsure of how to help. "I'll be on the couch if you need me." He gave you a soft smile.

It was a strange feeling you had. Even though you were barely friends, having Chris around was calming, and you could tell he was doing everything in his power to help even in uncharted waters.

You made your way into the bathroom and turned the water on, as hot as you could stand. You stripped and stepped under the steaming water. You stood under the water as it streamed down your body. Finally, after several minutes, you began to shower, washing your hair, then your body and your face.

You turned the water off and stepped out, grabbing a towel as you did. After wrapping up in the towel and staring at yourself in the mirror, you exited the bathroom and went to get dressed in your bedroom. Chris heard the open and closing of the doors.

Once you were dry and clothed, you went to the living room where Chris was still situated on the couch, scrolling through his phone. He looked over his shoulder at you and gave you a sympathetic smile. You joined him on the couch, sitting next to him. Chris wrapped his arm over your shoulder and held you to him. "I'm so sorry about your sister. I know me saying that doesn't fix anything, but I'm here if you want me to be."

You looked up at Chris, your eyes bloodshot and starting to swell. You could also feel a throb building in your head from all the crying you had done in the last hour.

“We have known each other for four years, we just became real friends this week and you are somehow giving me a sense of peace and comfort I really need right now.” You laid your head on his shoulder as he held you tightly.

“I’ll stay as long as you need me.” Chris whispered.

“Thank you.” You said lowly. The tears slowly started flowing again. “I’m sorry.” Your tears ran onto Chris’s shirt.

“Y/N, you have nothing to be sorry about.” He said to you. “I can’t imagine what you’re feeling right now.”

Before you could respond, Chris received a text. “Scarlett is outside.” He said. You pulled yourself away from Chris and wiped your tears.

“Oh, yeah it’s late and you’re probably ready to escape from the emotional wreck that is me.” You said.

“Are you sure you’re ok? I could-“ He stopped himself. He was going to say he could stay but he realized that would be a little forward.

You took a breath. “No, I’m not ok.” You looked at him as he stood. Chris felt kind of stupid after he asked that, but he didn’t know what else to ask. “But I know I don’t want to be alone. You were going to say you could stay, right?” You flashed him the slightest smirk, and he couldn’t help but smile. Chris knew this was the wrong situation to be making a move, but he hoped it was obvious.
