You were in your third trimester with your baby girl and you had a few more weeks to go before she was due. Until then, you were very hormonal and cranky. You felt bad because you took all your anger and hormonal stage out on Dash. He didn’t do anything wrong and you knew that. You were currently back at home, trying anything to get comfortable. You couldn’t watch any TV shows because all you would do is cry. Especially in The Notebook. You were on the couch when you heard Dash come in the front door. Pawla, your and Dash’s bulldog, ran and greeted him. He had a bag of Subway for the two of you. He scratched Pawla behind the ear before walking over to you. “Okay, please don’t be upset but they ran out of chocolate chip cookies.” Dash said, trying not to get to close to you. Your hormones kicked in and you started crying over not having chocolate chip cookies. “I have been craving those all week, Dash! Couldn’t you have stopped somewhere and got some?” You exclaimed, wiping your tears. “Don’t worry, darling. I can make you some.” That cheered you right up. “Thank you.” You smiled as he handed you the sub. “You’re welcome.” Dash chuckled before walking into the kitchen. — As Dash was in the kitchen making the cookies, you started to feel guilty about yelling at him just over cookies. You got up from the couch and waddled over to the kitchen. Dash was just pulling the cookies out of the oven. “I’m sorry.” You sighed, walking over to him. He looked at you. “It’s okay, I know you don’t mean it.” Dash said. You wrapped your arms around his waist. “You go through a lot with me being hormonal and having all of these mood swings. I’m sorry I put you through it.” You apologized some more. Dash kissed your forehead. “You don’t mean to do it. I love you and I want the best for you.” That brought a smile on your face.

After a two weeks spent in Sudbury with Chris, you and Olivia headed back to L.A. Chris insisted on coming back with you, but you talked him into staying a little while longer, since he doesn’t get much time with his family when he was working.
Once you were back home for a few days, you started to plan Olivia’s first birthday party. Her birthday was November 25 falling two days before Thanksgiving. Olivia didn’t attend daycare so there were no children to really invite. The only children Olivia had been around for a significant amount of time were Chris’s nieces and nephews. An idea popped into your head, so you called Chris.
“Hey babe! What are you up to?” Chris asked.
“Hey. I just started thinking about Olivia’s birthday coming up. I want to plan a party for her, but the only kid’s she has really been around have been the kids in your family.”
Before you could go on Chris interrupted you. “They would love to celebrate Livie’s birthday!” Chris said excitedly.
“I know they would babe, but her birthday is two days before thanksgiving and that would be super hectic trying to travel from Boston to Los Angeles. And my parents are going to have to fly from Atlanta.” You let out an exasperated sigh.
“Hey, don’t stress. We will figure this out, ok?” He calmed you.
“Yeah, ok.” You leaned back against your couch.
“I know you just got back, but what if you had Olivia’s birthday here at my mom’s house?” Chris offered. “My family could be there and it would be a lot less travel time for your parents as well. We could have it the weekend before thanksgiving that way you and your parents could get back to Atlanta to have thanksgiving as a family or we could have one big thanksgiving together, totally up to you and your family.”
“Chris, I couldn’t ask that of your family.” You shook you head even though he couldn’t see you.
“You aren’t asking. I am offering.” Chris said, and you know he had his signature smirk on his face. “I’ll even ask my mom now if it’s ok with her.”
Before you could put a stop to his actions, you hear him call out for his mom. You faintly heard him explain the proposition then you heard a gasp. “Oh! I would love to have Olivia’s party here and meet her family. She is such a sweetheart, I can only imagine what her parents are like.”
“Ma, she is on the phone.” Chris told her.
“She is? Let me speak with her.” Lisa took the phone from Chris’s hand and placed it to her ear.
“Y/N, hun, I would love to help you with Olivia’s party and have you and your parents over for thanksgiving.” Lisa happily said.
“Thank you, Miss Lisa. I really don’t want to impose on your family during the holidays. Maybe I could celebrate with my parents then bring Olivia to Sudbury to celebrate with y’all.” You explained to Lisa.
“I promise you wouldn’t be imposing. The more the merrier around here, but I also understand where you are coming from. Why don’t you talk it over with you parents then get back with Chris or myself?” Lisa stated.
“Yes ma’am, will do.” You smiled.
Lisa bid you goodbye then gave the phone back to Chris.
“So, how does thanksgiving in Massachusetts sound?” Chris said with a laugh.
“Chris, I just don’t know. I feel like I’m mooching off you and your family if I take your offer.”
“You’re not mooching.” Chris said flatly. “ My family really likes you. I don’t think they would offer that to just anyone, Y/N.”
“Just let me talk to my parents, and I will let you know.” You told Chris.
“Alright, I’ll talk to you later. I love you!” Chris said.
“I love you too.” You responded before ending the call.
You let out an exaggerated sigh and through your head back. “What are we going to do Livie?”
Olivia just babbled in response.
A little while later, you called your mom. When you explained Chris’s offer to her, she agreed that it would be a good idea. She wasn’t too sure on the thanksgiving part, but letting Olivia celebrate with both families would be best. She knew Chris had become a fundamental part of Olivia’s life and yours, so how could she not let him be apart of her first birthday.
After your phone call with your mom, you called Chris back to tell him that your parents agreed to having Olivia’s party in Sudbury. Chris had met your parents briefly when they visited you and Olivia in New York while filming. You were still nervous for his whole family to meet them.
After a few weeks of planning, you and Lisa had everything ready for Olivia’s birthday. Lisa had the idea for the theme to be donuts, and it turned out super cute. Lisa ordered a cake for Olivia to smash, one to eat, and tons of donuts of all flavors.
You and Olivia flew back to Boston two days before the party. The day before the party your parents flew in. You, Olivia, and Chris picked them up from the airport and took them to eat before taking them to their hotel.
The day of the party arrived and it was all about Olivia. You couldn’t ask for anything better. Chris went to pick up your parents while you got Olivia dressed. You didn’t know there was an underlying reason for Chris wanting to go alone.
He left earlier than needed to pick up your parents, but he had a plan. Before bringing them back to the house he stopped at a small cafe to have coffee with your parents.
You parent’s sat down at a small table with Chris after receiving their order.
“Chris, is there any particular reason you’ve brought us here?” Your mother, Tara, asked.
“Yes ma’am there is.” He said. To your parents it was obvious he was nervous about something and they had an inkling of what it might be. Chris took a deep breath and wiped his hands on his jeans. “Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N, I know Y/N and I have only been officially together for a few months, but I’ve known her for several years. This year having her in my life has been the best thing I could have asked for.” He took another breath. “She is an amazing woman. She loves everyone she meets no matter what, she is loyal, kind, smart, compassionate, and beautiful. I can’t imagine the rest of my life with out her or Olivia.” He looks you father straight in the eyes. “I would like your permission to ask her marry to marry me.”
Your parents were in awe of Chris’s speech about you. They can see the love for not only you but also for Olivia pouring out of him. They look at each other and smile.
“You have our permission.” You father, Shane, answered.
Chris’s smile could have split his face it was so wide. “Thank you!” He said with a sigh of relief.
They still had some time before they needed to be back, so your mother asked. “Do you have an idea of when you would like to ask her?”
“Well, I would really like to do it soon. I am not the best secret keeper.” He laughed softly. “I would like to ask her on thanksgiving, so I would really like it of you two joined our family for thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.”
Your mother pursued her lips. “Since you are going to propose, we will stay.” Your mom smiled. Chris smiled victoriously, his plan was coming together perfectly.
They continued their conversation for just a few more minutes then it was time to head home for the party.
Chris and your parents arrived forty-five minutes before the start time of the party. Lisa’s house was decorated beautifully for the occasion. Streamers and balloons were every where, along with pictures of Olivia that Lisa had acquired from Chris.
You walked down the stairs with Olivia in your arms, she was bathed and ready for the party. She was a little cranky about the tutu she had on, but she was slowly calming down.
Your mom gasped at Olivia’s outfit and immediately went to take her from you. You smiled and passed her over. You gave Chris a question look, he responded with a nonchalant shrug.
Once your mom was finished gushing about Olivia’s outfit, you lead them into the kitchen to meet Lisa.
Lisa and your parents hit it off. They fell into easy conversation as your mom started to help Lisa with the finishing touches of the decorations.
It was finally party time and Carly and Shana both showed up with the rest of the kids. The children were in awe of all the sweets laid out in front of them. Scott arrived with armfuls of gifts.
“Scott! You did not!” You gasped as he set the gift bags down.
“I absolutely did!” He smirked. Scott took Olivia from Chris’s arms and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
The party continued. Your mom placed the small cake on the tray of the high chair for Olivia to smash. Before you let her destroy the cake, you mom wanted a picture. You put Olivia in the high chair and stood just to the side for the picture.
“Chris get in there!” You mom motioned with her hand.
He couldn’t help the smile that beamed across his face. He joined the picture then allowed Olivia to dig in to her cake.
Everyone gathered around to watch Olivia smash her cake, and smashed it was. She had frosting all over her arms and face. You all snapped pictured of the happy birthday girl as she licked the cake and frosting from her hands.
The official party ended after two or so hours. With everyone around clean up didn’t take much time. The left over food was all stored away and the decorations were taken down. All of Olivia’s gifts had been placed in the corner of the living room for her to play with later. The kids had crashed from their sugar highs and were napping in the playroom on pallets.
All the adults gathered around the living room to enjoy the quiet. Scott, Chris and your dad watched a football game while all the women just laid around.
“Miss Lisa, I can’t thank you enough for everything. It was absolutely beautiful!” You told her as you looked through your pictures.
“Oh, hun, it was not a big deal! It was nice to do the planning and have the party here. It reminded me of having my own children’s parties here.” She smiled at you.
The rest of the evening was quiet. Everyone laid around and munched on party food. You leaned against Chris not thinking of anything other than the day you had. Chris looked as if he was focused on the game on tv, but really his sole focus was planning the perfect proposal with just a few short days.

{Part 1} {Part 2}
A/N: I told myself I was going to update once a week, but I’ve already written through part 6. So, I was getting impatient with myself. I’m not sure how many parts this will have but it has 6 complete parts so far.
“What?” You looked at your mom in utter shock. Your mother dropped a bomb on you, well at least that’s what it felt like.
“I know, it’s a shock, and with your career you don’t need a baby.” Your mom said. You looked down at your niece as she cooed in your arms. She didn’t deserve any of what was happening.
“No, I-“ You stopped. “I will take her. I know you and dad are capable, but I think it would be better for everyone if I took her.”
“Honey, are you sure? Your career is taking off and you have such odd hours.” Your mother was just wanting to make sure you knew you had options.
“I’m sure.” You said. “If that’s what she wanted then that’s what I will do.” You kissed your niece on her chubby cheeks and she giggled.
Your mom nodded. “Alright hun.” She squeezed your hand again.
You ate breakfast, and felt like your haze was getting thicker. Most of the day was spent sitting around and talking. Your parents went and made arrangements for your sister’s funeral.
You texted Chris throughout the day, but you never told him about your niece. As the day progressed, you needed to tell someone. Finally, you messaged Chris and asked if you could call him. He, of course, said yes.
You tapped the phone icon under his name and it began ringing. You were sitting on the back patio as Olivia napped in her swing.
“Hey Y/N! How are you doing?” He asked.
“Umm, well I was doing better until my mom informed me of something.” You told Chris.
“What was the news? I’m guessing it was something big.” Chris asked, genuinely wanting to know what was bothering you.
“My sister has appointed me to become the legal guardian of my niece. She never told me she was doing that.” You admitted to Chris. “She’s two months old.”
“Oh.” Chris was unsure of what to say.
“I know I just unloaded that on you, but I needed to tell someone. And you were the only person who knows what’s going on.” You sighed.
“Well, umm-” Chris stuttered. You could tell Chris was struggling. “I’ll help you figure things out.”
“Chris, you don’t have to do that. I also wouldn’t even know where to start.” You told him.
“Y/N, you are going to need help. Let me help you.” Chris said.
You sighed. “Alright, alright. I will accept your help.”
“Good because you were going to get it any way.”
Your niece began to cry. You stuck the phone between your shoulder and your ear and went to pick her up. “Shh, it’s ok, it’s ok. Aunt Sissy is here.” You sat down in your chair.
“Aunt Sissy?” Chris questioned. You forgot he could hear you.
“Yes, when my sister and I were little kids she couldn’t say my name, so she called me sissy. So, we figured why not be Aunt sissy.” You explained to him.
“I like it.” He said. “I’m just plain ole Uncle Chris.” He laughed.
“There’s nothing wrong with that.” You told him.
You and Chris talked for a few more minutes then you ended the call. Your parents came home after a while. You and your niece were both asleep on the couch.
The next few days were a blur. You attended the funeral of your sister and finalized documents to become the legal guardian of your niece.
It had been a week. You knew you had to get back to L.A. and back to work. It was Friday morning and you were able to book a flight back to L.A. for the next morning, but this time you had to mark that you were flying with a baby. You were slightly dreading the flight home. Five hours on a plane with a two month old, that was definitely uncharted waters for you.
That night, you packed your suitcase and Olivia’s things. You told your parents to keep everything your sister had bought at there house. You would just have to buy new things after you were back in L.A.
That night, you couldn’t sleep. Your mind just wouldn’t shut down. Every scenario, good and bad, were going through your head. You checked the clock and it was almost 3 a.m. You groaned and just stared at the ceiling. You weren’t sure when, but eventually you fell asleep.
7 a.m. rolled around much quicker than you wanted it too. You groaned as you turned your alarm off. You got up, got dressed, and finished off both yours and your nieces packing.
You woke Olivia up, fed her, and got her dressed for the flight. Your nerves were still on end wondering how the flight was going to go. Your dad helped bring your things to the car as you loaded everything.
“Are you going to be ok?” Your dad asked.
“I think I will be fine.” You told him. “I have a friend who is already offering to help me.”
He nodded as he closed the back of the car. You both walked inside to get Olivia.
Your parents drove you to the airport. They kissed Olivia goodbye then you.
“Call us, no matter what time, if you need anything.” Your mom said. You nodded and hugged her. You were grateful that your sister had purchased one of the infant carriers that you wear, so your hands were free. It was an odd feeling, walking around with a baby. People looked at you when normally no one would look your way.
You got your boarding pass and headed to your gate. After grabbing a coffee and a muffin, you sat down at your gate. You audibly sighed when you sat down. You looked down at Olivia, she was fast asleep. You ate your muffin and drank your coffee before your boarded your flight.
While you were waiting at the gate, your phone rang. You looked down and it was Chris. You slide over on the screen to answer and put the phone to your ear.
“Hello?” You asnwered.
“Good morning Y/N! What are you up too?” Chris asked.
“I’m at the airport waiting on my flight.” You said. “Chris isn’t it like 6 a.m. in L.A.?” You questioned.
He glanced at his alarm clock. “Oh yeah, it is. I just woke up and I thought since we didn’t talk much yesterday, I’d give you a call.”
You smiled. “Why are you up at 6 on a Saturday? I’d be sleeping until noon.” You laughed softly.
“I don’t even know why myself.” He laughed. “I went to bed pretty early last night, so maybe that’s why.”
“Well, I was the opposite. I didn’t go to sleep until 3 then I woke up at 7 and was at the airport by 9.”
“Wow! You made it to the airport in an that amount of time with a baby? That’s impressive.” Chris commended you.
“Yeah, I guess I did. It wasn’t that bad. I got up, got dressed, dressed Olivia and my dad drove us to the airport. It’s a 45 minute drive from my parents house to the airport.” You told Chris.
“How is Olivia doing?” He asked. You smiled to yourself. Most people probably wouldn’t ask.
“She’s doing well, I think. I can ask, but I don’t know if I would get a response.” You laughed softly as did Chris. “I’m worried about the time change though. For an adult, you just take a nap and all will be fine. I don’t know how it affects a baby.” You admitted to Chris.
Over the week, you realized you felt something towards him. You didn’t want to admit to yourself what that was, but you would admit it was something.
“I don’t really know.” He said with a sigh.
“Chris, I’m worried. I don’t know anything about babies. I know they are cute and you have to change their diapers, but that’s it!” You said to him.
“Well, my sisters have a few kids and I know a little bit about babies. I will be glad to help you out.” Chris assured you.
“Thank you.” You smiled. Your conversation continued for another twenty minutes. You talked about work and how you were doing.
Your flight was being announced so you had to say goodbye. “I’ll be back in L.A. around lunch.” You told Chris before ending the call.
You grabbed your backpack and stood. It was different now that you had Olivia with you. People were more careful around you, they seemed to take notice of your prescense.
Your parents paid for your flight home and they booked using Delta so your seat was classified as Comfort plus. You had a bit more room than a normal seat, which was nice considering you were traveling with a baby. You got comfortable and removed the carrier, it was kind of a relief.
The flight attendants were super helpful and even offered you some tips after you admitted you had never flown with a baby. Right as the flight began to take off, Olivia began crying.
You started panicking. You knew it was probably the pressure in her ears from the takeoff because you felt it in your own ears. You reached into the diaper bag and grabbed a bottle.
You clicked the button on the bottle to drop the powder into the water. You shook the bottle then held it for Olivia. She immediately calmed down and started eating. You sighed in relief. After her bottle, you burped her and she fell asleep almost instantly.
The rest of the flight was calm. You changed her diaper, fed her again, and she slept. Finally, you landed in L.A.
You made your way into the airport to grab your luggage and Olivia’s car seat. Once you had everything, you made it to your car. You loaded Olivia’s car seat then her, then your luggage.
You finally got into your car and took a deep breath. “We made it Livie.” You grabbed your phone and texted Chris that you had landed and were headed home.
Thirty minutes later, you were pulling into your apartment. You somehow manage to get everything into your apartment in one trip. You took Olivia out of her car seat and she stretched and yawn. “Girly, you must like to sleep.” You laughed as you laid her down the couch cushion beside you.
You checked your phone and saw a message from Chris.
Chris- “Good. If you don’t mind, I wanted to stop by later. Only if it’s ok with you.”
You- “Of course! I would really like that.”
Olivia started cooing and gurgling. “What are you saying Livie? Are you excited to meet Chris?” You laughed. She continued to gurgle.
Chris- “I’ll be there in about an hour.”
You- “Alrighty! See you soon!”
As you were waiting on Chris, you started smelling something, and you knew exactly where it was coming from. You look over at Olivia. She had this grin on her face looking back at you.
“You are something else.” You laughed and went to grab the diaper bag. You laid the changing mat down on the floor then Olivia. You unbuttoned the onesie and started holding your breath. There was a knock at the door right as you undid the diaper.
You knew it had to be Chris. “Come in!” You called out. The door opened and Chris smiled at you.
“Am I interrupting something?” He laughed.
You shook your head and laughed. “No, you’re not interrupting.” You finished changing Olivia’s diaper without any sort of disaster. So, you patted yourself on the back for that.
You picked her up off the floor and disposed of the diaper. You went back to the living room where Chris was standing.
“Chris, I’d like you to meet Olivia.” You said smiling as you held her. “I call her Livie.” Chris smile down at her.
“May I?” He reached for her.
“Of course!” You gently passed her to Chris.
“Hello Olivia!” He cooed at the baby as she giggled.
You smiled at him and sat down. As you watched him hold Olivia, your buried feelings started to surface. You looked at his arms and how much smaller Olivia seemed in them.
She gurgled and cooed as she looked Chris. “She must like you.” You teased him.
“You think?” He raised his eyebrow and smiled at you. “She’s beautiful like her aunt.”
You blushed. “I bet her mom was beautiful too.” Chris said sitting down on the couch.
“She was.”
He looked at you then down at Olivia who was yawning. “I think someone is sleepy.” He chuckled.
“I bet.” After you said that, you began thinking you didn’t have anything you needed for Olivia. No crib, no changing table, no diapers, no nothing. Chris noticed your expression changed in a matter seconds.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I don’t have anything she needs, Chris. I have a car seat and a diaper bag.” You said putting your face in your hands.
“Well then let’s go. Let’s get Olivia everything she needs.” Chris smiled at you.
“What? Now?” You looked up at him.
“Yeah. We can go to Target, Walmart. I don’t know, we will find somewhere.”
You sighed and nodded. “Ok.”
Olivia was asleep in Chris’s arms. You walked over and grabbed the car seat. You sat it on the coffee table in front of Chris. He gently placed Olivia into the car seat and strapped her in.
You smiled watching him do it. He was gentle with her. The way he smiled at Olivia as he buckled her in made your heart melt.
“Alright, lets go.” He said as he stood up. “You can just get a few of the essential things. A crib, diapers, wipes, formula, bottles.” He listed them off.
You nodded. You went to grab the handle of the car seat but Chris stopped you. “Let me.” He said.
He grabbed the handle and carried the car seat to your car. He locked the car seat into place then shut the door quietly. You were sitting in the driver’s seat waiting. He leaned down.
“I know you’re tired, so I’ll be driving.” You gave him a soft smile and willingly went around to the passenger side.
Over the next couple of hours, you, Chris and Olivia shopped for the essentials. You decided on a simple, white crib, nothing extravagant at the moment. You picked up several sets of pink sheets for the crib.
As you shopped, people were giving you odd looks. Who wouldn’t? Two people with a baby shopping for baby things now, that’s technically backwards. But, you paid no mind to the people in the stores.
The shopping ended and you three headed back to your apartment. It’s was around five in the afternoon when you got all the boxes and bags inside.
While shopping, you saw a swing and you knew how much Olivia loved her swing at your parents. You told your self you wouldn’t get it right now, but you looked down at Olivia and caved. That was the first thing put together.
Everything was inside the apartment. Chris was setting down the last bag as you held Olivia on the couch.
“Chris, I can’t thank you enough.” You smiled at him as he walked over and sat beside you. “I don’t know how I’m going to repay you for everything you’ve done for me and now Olivia.”
“Y/N, you don’t have to repay me.” He said looking down at you. “Everything I’ve done, I did because I wanted to.”
A tear slid down your cheek. “No, no, no! Don’t cry.” He said wiping the tear. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry.”
“I know you didn’t. I don’t even know why I’m crying.” You said with a small laugh. “You have been so nice to me through out all of this, I’m also sleep deprived and still pretty emotional.”
Chris smiled at you. Before either of you could say anything, Olivia started to cry. You looked down at her and tried to figure out what she wanted. You checked her diaper and it was clean.
“Want me to make a bottle?” Chris asked standing up to reach for the diaper bag.
You nodded as you held Olivia’s pacifier in her mouth. She continued to cry. Chris mixed the bottle and warmed it.
“Here you go pretty girl!” He said replacing the pacifier with the bottle. She started sucking down the bottle. You laughed softly at how quickly she was eating.
As she ate, Chris sat down beside you. Your mind couldn’t help but wonder to the future. What if this was your future? You, Chris and a another baby. Maybe you did want something with Chris, but just not right at the moment. You need some time to adjust with Olivia. And if you were reading Chris right, he would wait until you were ready.
You glanced over at him. He was looking down at Olivia in your arms. She was almost done with the bottle. Her eyes were wide open and she was looking back at Chris.
“Oh yeah, I think she really likes you.” You laughed. “She can’t take her eyes off you. I don’t blame her though.” You smiled at him.
Chris blushed. “You don’t?” He raised his eyebrow.
“Not one bit.” You smiled.
Chris chuckled unsure of what to say. You quickly realized how forward you were.
“I’m sorry, that was very out of line.” You apologized.
“No, don’t apologize. It’s totally ok.” He said. “How I about I start putting together that crib?” Chris smiled. You nodded as your cheeks burned with embarrassment. Chris stood up and went to work.
Olivia finished her bottle, and your burped her. You heard her burp then felt something warm running down your shoulder. “Oh Livie! Why?” You groaned.
Chris turned his head and saw the problem. He walked over and took Olivia. He couldn’t help but laugh, just a little. “Olivia, why would you do that?” He wiped her face.
“I’m going to change shirts.” You turned and went to your room to find a clean shirt. When you returned, you found Chris with Olivia pressed to his chest as he swayed. You smiled watching the scene.
“You know Olivia, I really like your aunt. She’s so kind and loving and caring, but you already know that. And she’s absolutely beautiful.” Chris spoke to your niece.
Your cheeks flushed red as you listened to him go on. You cleared your throat and he quickly turned towards you.
“How much did you hear?”
