@joshradnor what a beautiful sentence!!! I was reading Josh’s “Muse letter” this morning for breakfast and this sentence really stopped me in my tracks. I stopped to consider…wow! I put my bowls on the line. Yes I LOVE breakfast, it is my favourite meal and I make it count. Yes this is a GIANT bowl of FRUIT and yes I had some quinoa, split peas, swede and lentils before this and a big slice of sourdough wholegrain bread with raw cashew nut butter and fig marmalade after…AND some self made wholegrain, date and banana muffinlke cookies with my coffee 🙌🤸‍♂️ . I realized i want to be healthy and that I need to eat a lot, both because I am me and that is how I roll and because if you eat plant based, you can and need to do big portions. TRUST . A breakfast of this magnitude, out in a cafe would cost me an eye from my head, and it would be filled with undesirable oils and excessive salt and sugar. While at home is still not the cheapest thing, cause it is a lot of food that, but it is still way cheaper and healthier in comparison . Altho I love from time to time to go to some cafe a have a cheeky breakfast time…luxurious innit . I made a choice to spend money on food rather than on other things, because it is an investment. And since I don’t eat animal products almost ever and I tend to buy actual whole plant food instead of fake meats and a whole bunch of processed shit, like I used to, it is still the cheapest option around . I save a ton of money by not doing drugs, not smoking, not gambling, not buying expensive designer clothes every two weeks and drinking booze extremely rarely.. . so I still spend less money every month than most people, even if the food I buy from the organic stand costs more than the cheaper, but blender food I used to buy before .
