that comment about how you should not borrow grief from the future has saved me multiple times from spiraling into an inescapable state of anxiety. like every time i find myself thinking about how something in the future could go wrong i remember that comment and i think to myself: well i never know, it might get better. it might not even happen the way i think it will and if it does happen and it is sad and bad ill be sad about it then, when it happens. and it’s somehow soo freeing
less “if you see a man and woman together at pride be nice! they could be bi/pan/trans/ace/aro” and more “stop gendering strangers to harass them anywhere, but especially at pride holy shit”
something has gone deeply wrong when "focusing pragmatically on issues you can influence and working to make life better for yourself and your community" is considered an unserious distraction while "endlessly exposing yourself to media about distressing situations you can't control" is considered political engagement
We need to stop letting people who dont like body hair speak. About anything.
“what if kids identify with something and it ends up just being a phase-?” good. stop teaching and expecting kids (and adults honestly) to formulate permanent traits and ideas of themselves. everything in life is a phase. that doesn’t make it any less legitimate while you experience it. let people explore themselves and know it’s okay if what you think about yourself changes.

ok. so if people, regardless of their gender, using whatever pronouns they feel comfortable in (lesbians using he/him, gay men using she/her, non binary people using he/she) invalidates trans people who get gender euphoria from people using the proper pronouns because of the way they are gendered for THEM personally, why is this argument not used for the concept of unisex names? if a womans name is henry (for example), are you gonna say she’s invalidating trans men for having a masculine name? are you gonna tell her its HER fault that people will dead name trans men now? are you gonna hold up the same standards you have for pronouns (which were INVENTED to replace peoples names back when only two genders were recognized in eurocentric cultures) for peoples names?
pronouns are like names. unisex, changeable, and purely exist to refer to someone in the third person. and if you dont use someones name and pronouns properly, youre transphobic. its as simple as that.
trans women can use pronouns other than she/her. and frankly they’re sexy for doing it
destroy the idea that trans people need to pick new names close to their given names, but also don’t make fun of those who do pick names with similar sounds or letters. it’s a comfort thing for some.
Conservatives accidentally doing this never gets old
