Why the Persian's name is Ismaël? There's no name Ismaël in the Leroux book.

The name Ismaël comes from Gaston Leroux’s manuscript for Le Fantôme de l’Opéra. In describing his character “the Persian,” Leroux included a word-for-word copy of a passage from an 1857 account of an exiled Persian man of high status who was living in Paris on a British pension. This man’s name was Ismaël. Like Leroux’s character, he frequented the Opera and was known to the Parisian upper classes, and he also lived in an apartment on the Rue de Rivoli. Leroux ended up deleting this copied paragraph, so it does not appear in the Gaulois serialization or the 1st edition of Le Fantôme, but it does show that Leroux was thinking of a specific, and real, person when he developed the Persian.

I finished Susan Kay's 'Phantom' last night.

I fucking hate Kerik so much guys it's unreal. I appreciate the backstory part of the book, and that is the only segment I'm accepting into my head cannon timeline 😭😭

Also it upsets me greatly that she mentions ALW in the credits before Leroux.

Because, based only on the context of Point of No Return, there are only two options:

1. my man didn’t think that far ahead (likely)

2. he really thought he and Christine were gonna raw dog it right there in front of God and everyone (very likely)

Which also begs the question — which act are they in? Of how many? Because I dunno what’s funnier, them fucking and then “goodnight everyone hope you enjoyed the show” or “it’s intermission!!! go grab yourself some chocolate covered raisins”

True story, once I hallucinated names of Poto characters into my ACT prep questions, all the while hearing the musical in my head.

Being normal about things is boring anyways, I'd rather let my interests consume my every waking moment :)) (not that I have a choice, when Christine said "the phantom of the opera is there, inside my mind" she was onto something.)

everything looks like a nail when you've got a hammer and every song is actually about the character when they're on your mind 24/7
