ALIEN (1979) PROMPTS * assorted dialogue from the film, adjust as necessary
the other members of the crew are dead.
this is the worst shit i've ever seen.
anybody ever tell you you look dead?
alien life form. looks like it's been dead a long time.
i should reach the frontier in about six weeks.
can you hear me?
what was your special order?
you read it. i thought it was clear.
what about our lives, you son of a bitch?
how do we kill it? there's gotta be a way of killing it.
that's bullshit.
you still don't understand what you're dealing with, do you?
you admire it.
look, i've heard enough of this, and i'm asking you to pull the plug.
i can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.
something has attached itself to him.
we have to get him to the infirmary right away.
wait a minute. if we let it in, the ship could be infected.
you know the quarantine procedure. twenty-four hours for decontamination.
listen to me. if we break quarantine, we could all die.
look, could you open the goddamned hatch?
i can't do that, and if you were in my position, you'd do the same.
this is an order.
the ship will automatically destruct in t-minus five minutes.
you bitch!
you are my lucky star.
i find that hard to believe.
what would you like me to do?
i'll get my own answers, thank you.
some of you may have figured out we're not home yet. we're only halfway there.
what kind of transmission?
you were gonna leave us out there!
when i give an order, i expect it to be obeyed.
unless somebody has got a better idea, we'll proceed with [name]'s plan.
oh no. you're out of your mind.
i say that we abandon ship!
we take our chances and just hope somebody will pick us up.
i'm for killing that goddamn thing right now.
will you listen to me, [name]?
you don't know that.
that's the only way.
we'll go step by step and cut off every bulkhead and every vent until we have it cornered, and then we'll blow it the fuck out into space.
is that acceptable to you?
that's amazing. what is it?
please don't do that. thank you.
you let him in.
by breaking quarantine, you risk everybody's life.
maybe i should have left him outside.
maybe i've jeopardized the rest of us, but it was a risk i was willing to take.
i do take my responsibilities are seriously as you, you know.
you do your job, and let me do mine.
you remember anything about the planet?
what's the last thing you do remember?
we're on our way home!
i don't trust him.
i don't trust anybody.
it's a robot!
let's get the hell out of here.
there is an explanation for this, you know.
i'm sorry, can i say something?
we don't know if it's intelligent.
i wanna go home and party.
you don't dare kill it.
how long before the ship blows?
why don't you just fuck off?
it looks like a warning.
i can't see a goddamn thing.
get out of the room!
the first thing i am going to do when i get back is get some decent food.
open the door!
oh god, it's moving right towards you!
get out of there! behind you! move!
this place gives me the creeps.
whatever it was, it was big.
i'll get the shuttle ready.
wait a minute. there's movement.
where's earth?
something's different down here.
it's got to be around there somewhere.

The Witcher | Locations: Toussaint
“A vassal duchy of Nilfgaard, widely considered a beautiful, fable-like land where everyone is eternally tipsy.”
"Anger is better than despair, Captain." It may not exactly be the most comforting, but it was the only word of advice that he could offer in this situation. It was a human choice that had to be made. He began to look around the ship for what he could find to perhaps do some repairs. A lot had been pulled out of the ship, probably floated far off by now, but there were a lot of panels he could remove to try to repair the hole at the very least. It would expose some wiring and the like but that was something that would not be an immediate problem. Nobody would be fumbling around back here anyways and that hole needed sealing. He moved off in search of any crates that might have been tied down to strip of their metal siding and the torch so he could get to welding... and perhaps he could weld the vents shut while he was at it. Keep them trapped inside as long as possible. Fortunately the torch was locked up safe. If they had lost that their situation would have been far worse than it was now.
"I can't make that decision for you, Captain." He didn't know what the best choice for them would be. He only knew that they needed to exercise extreme caution due to the creature being pregnant and more than likely laying eggs in those vents.
It was quite intelligent to his knowledge and he was certain that it had managed to find a way to survive. Nothing was more important than offspring to any species and it would do whatever it took to persevere them. He supposed that they may be able to contact the UC and have precautions put in place to land in quarantine, because the UC wanted the creature and they wanted it badly. For what he did not know, but he feared it may not be good. And a pregnant creature at that? He didn't think that there were any truly good answers here. "The UC would undoubtedly sell an arm and a leg to get that creature. Perhaps you ought to contact them for aid."
(The person meant to answer this never did so if anyone else is interested let me know)
Sign up for King and Country. For Honor and Glory. Do your part. It started that way. Eager enthusiasm to serve one's country. But it didn't stay that way. The moment one had to put a seventeen-inch blade through another man and watch the light fading from his eyes it changed something. It changed when the bombs started falling and disintegrated a man right before your very eyes. It changed when you listened to young boys crying out for their mothers as they died tangled up in the muddy barbed wire in no man's land where nobody could reach them to render aid. No. There was no honor and there was no glory here. Only pointless waste of lives. Defeatists talk they would call it, but he knew the truth. The only ones to call it defeatist were rich old men with something to gain. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and he sighed heavily to himself, knowing a cold rain would only bring with it more discomfort and suffering. Adjusting he tried to make himself as comfortable as he could within the small dugout in the side wall of the trench that served for a bed. No mattress and a helmet made for a poor pillow, but it was what they had. A few soldiers on patrol made their way back and forth through the trenches. The mood had become very somber. No longer was it the jovial banter of stating they would be home before Christmas. There was no end in sight.

"My demonstration of concern would not change what has happened."
"This man shouldn't be dead! I couldn't find anything wrong with him!"
"Have I ever mentioned that you play a very irritating game of chess?"
"You hide it, but you do have feelings."
"I am in control of my emotions!"
"I can't change the laws of physics!"
"I've spent a whole lifetime learning to hide my feelings."
"We all have our darker side. We need it; it's half of what we are."
"I used to try to get you to look at my legs."
"Sometimes a man will tell his bartender things he'll never tell his doctor."
"You set standards for yourself no one could meet."
"You and I are of a kind. In a different reality, I could have called you friend."
"It's going to take more than logic to get us out of this."
"I suspect you're becoming more and more human all the time."
"I have a reputation for ruthlessness. You will find that it is deserved."
"I want facts, not poetry!"
"You were about to make a medical comment?"
"At times, you seem quite human."
"You can't evaluate a man from logic alone."
"You have a remarkably logical and analytical mind."
"I've always suspected that you were a little more human than you let on."
"Are you refusing a direct order?"
"Put your hands over your head, or you're not going to have a head to put your hands over."
"I was simply trying to stop you from giving us a whole lecture on the subject!"
"Don't judge me before you know the facts."
"Do you know why you're not afraid to die? You're more afraid of living."
"My diagnosis is exhaustion, brought on from overwork and guilt."
"My feelings are not subject for discussion."
"I must admit, I don't understand you."
"The release of emotions is what keeps us healthy. Emotionally healthy, that is."
"Am I behaving incorrectly?"
"You don't understand what it is to live."
"I don't know how to make people like me."
"Your presence here is interfering with my efficiency."
"I was an emotional statement. I don't expect you to understand it."
"I feel sorry for you because you'll never know the things that love can drive a man to do."
❝Why is there a dead body in my driveway?❞ ❝No. Stop having a mental breakdown and do your homework!❞ ❝Look at you, staring anxiously out the window - fucking paranoid nerd.❞ ❝Oh wow, we need to change that. We are changing your hair right now.❞ ❝S/He's built like a stink bug.❞ ❝It isn't all bad. At least you can bend your elbows in really cool ways. That's neat.❞ ❝Get out of my house. Who even are you?❞ ❝Oh, God it's kind of creepy to see it going around the house. What's it doing? Oh my God it got in the dog house! What's it doing in there?❞ ❝Now what's going on out there?❞ ❝I think I'm getting kidnapped?❞ ❝I needed that 500 dollars for my babies!❞ ❝This one is dead just like your hopes and dreams will be if you don't save these plants.❞ ❝No, you can't have your shitty friend over after school.❞ ❝Whine, whine, whine! "Your warning was given. ROE have changed. I'm free to open fire if you take another step." He lifted his EM rifle and focused it on the man. Briefly he gave a glance to the sample and were he human he might have paled at the results and what it meant for them. It was why he quickly turned and smashed the lab apart with the butt of his rifle. It would be too dangerous for the pirates to get that information into their hands and so long as the creature remained in the vent, they'd not get another sample so easily.
Caz inhaled sharply upon seeing the smoke cannister, because he feared what it might do to the parasite. It could easily irritate the creature and if it were irritated there was no telling how it was going to react. That fog was undoubtedly going to go straight into the vents where the creature was. It was not so much out of concern for the pirates themselves, but rather the damage that they could do if they carried the parasite along with them to other planets. "I should like to politely ask you to leave before any further harm to property or person is done." He had to issue his warning first or he could not act. It was against his protocols. He quickly glanced at the sample. Still analyzing. Almost done. He just needed to stall them long enough to get that sample properly secured.
"I apologize for being an inconvenience, David." He folded his hands behind his back and regarded the security that had complained about him being a nuisance. "Yes, a UC scientist sent me here to aid the miners but I'm afraid I seem to have failed that directive." A shame as he had no intentions of causing trouble. He had been sent here to aid the miners not to get in their way. Although... it was entirely possible the UC was cutting costs by using him in certain areas. "My own directive? My own directive..." It was a curious request and one that he had never really considered or been asked before. "I should like to help humanity, David. However, I may, but I'm afraid I may be scrapped for failing my previous directive."
"Technically I belong to the UC scientists that created me. In essence I am UC property." He informed. "But someone still needs to give me directive." He paused, gave a pleasant smile that was meant to put humans at ease and offered a hand. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, David. I'm designated C.A.Z. That is short for Computer Automated Zebi." The guard scoffed at this and decided to clear up just why they'd left this thing locked away for so long. "The miners don't want these machines stealing their jobs. Nobody wants it here."
