1. Mush is literally the CLINGIEST person EVER, like if he likes you, that's it,he is physically latched onto you whenever you're around.

2. When race goes to see spot in his lodging house (he has to climb to up to a window so nobody sees), he always calls spot a princess in a tower and it drives him INSAINE.

3. Skittery is the typa guy to just randomly start laughing and giggling hysterically out of nowhere, and everybody just kinda stares at him (he's a little insaine, but that's okay)

4. Davey was on the debate team when he was at school, but his speeches were always too long, and he got frustrated when he couldn't get his point across fast enough ao he quit (that happened to me)

5. After almost every race, Race goes down and tries to convince the owner to let him go pet the horses,they only said yes once and he won't let it go

6. In Brooklyn, if somebody is refusing to get out of bed in the morning spot will literally just pick them up and throw them off the docs into the water outside 😭

7. Davey and his dad have the most unbreakable bond ever.

8. Jack picks up on 'fancy' words davey uses and then uses them incorrectly when talking.

9. Crutchie is the WORST sleep talker ever. He just babbles in his sleep but doesn't say anything that makes sense

10. Blink has no filter at all. The first thing that comes into hisbdead is said out loud. Good or bad.

NEWSIES HEADCANONS (Jack edition)

1. When he sleep talks he does it in a texan accent

2. He never puts his hat down because if he does one of the younger newsies will take it and start playing cowboys

3. If there is a mirror or any reflective surface, he is looking at it #selfobssessedking

4. He tried to gamble once and lost to race, and now he's strictly against it and will never do it again because "Race cheated"

5. Once, he created a fake scenario of himself as a cowboy in his head and accidentally shouted one of the lines out loud and everybody teases him about it

6. Will NOT eat vegetables

7. Compulsive liar (this one's lowkey cannon) after it was found out that he was lying, the newsies never really believed anything he said after. When talking about it, they're like, "If it came from Jack, take it with a pinch of salt"

8. Is the biggest gossip ever, but if u talk about him then its "childish" (me core)

9. Tells story's for the whole lodging house to listen too

10. Still sees spot as his baby brother even though spot is technically in charge of him

1. When laying next to each other, mush will trail his fingers up and down Blinks scars on his back, which sends him to sleep

2. Always warm (Mush) versus always cold (Blink)

3. Blink will always piggyback Mush round after selling when he's tired

4. Mushs love language is physical touch and Blinks is acts of service

5. When they play fight, because mush is so well built and muscular compared to Blink, he let's him win a few times so Blink doesn't feel weak.

6. Blink is prepared to fight anyone who even slightly inconveniences Mush

7. Mush will always think of a joke and try to tell Blink but laughs about it so hard he can't get his words out, Blink just sits there smiling until Mush calms down and can tell him what's so funny.

8. After selling, they hide under their covers together with a flashlight, just giggling and talking all night

9. Mush starts play fights 24/7

10. Blink loves to give mush flowers he finds because of how his face lights up as he puts it behind his ear

Bad mood

Summary: Skittery has been in a bad mood for the last few weeks, and bumlets and swifty help him cheer up.

Tws: mild language, depression talk?

Winter time was always the worst time of year for skittery,the cold weather never failed to dampen his already glum mood, and the frosty wind made him dread getting up in the morning. This year was no different, skittery already found it hard to put up a smiley, happy front the rest of the year, but in winter, it felt damn near impossible. This was one of the worst depressive episodes he had ever had. He had not smiled or laughed in what felt like weeks. Words hardly ever left his lips anymore, and his fellow newsies were starting to get worried, gravely worried,in fact.

After another long,dreary day midway through December, skittery was sat in his bottom bunk, knees pulled to his chest, staring blankly ahead as if consumed in irrepressible thoughts. He was so ingulfed that he didn't even realise that Bumlets had sat himself down next to him.

"Hey, skitts.." Bumlets said quietly. However, skittery seemed to be blocking out noise that wasn't coming from his brain,so there was no answer. He places a gentle hand on his shoulder and skittery jumped back, startled.

"Jesus christ, are yous tryna kill me?" Bumlets chucked at this.

"No, I was just tryna make sure youse alright." Skittery frowned, and Bumlets felt a sudden urge of guilt in his chest.

"Ise fine why wouldn't Ise be." Skittery snapped a little too loudly, making the heads of a few closer newsies turn.

"It's just that youse been in such a bad mood -"

"Ise has NOT been in a bad mood"

The dramatic irony of this sentence made bumlets snicker uncontrollably.

"What is youse laughing at?" Skittery yelled through gritted teeth, but he didn't look angry, just exhausted.

"Ise sorry, ise sorry-" Bumlets tried to apologise but he has still giggling too hard to get his words out right.

"Piss off." Skittery said angrily before turning and facing his back towards his laughing friend.

"Naww come on skitts I didn't mean it!" Bulets tried to protest but earned no reaction from his friend who was now ignoring him.

"Skitts...skitts...skittery...skitterrrrryyyy." He wined trying to stop his silent treatment.

A strong pang of guilt washed over him as he looked at the back of his friend who was more exhausted than anything else, all he wanted was to see skittery back to his happy self who laughed and played with the other newsies like the kid he was.

He stared at skitterys messy curls for a few moments, completely torn about what to do.

He placed a reassuring hand in the middle of Skitterys back, and all of the anger and tension in his body language seemed to just melt away. It was as if Bumlets could see the frustration draining out of him, like wringing out a sponge. Neither boys said anything, just enjoying the physical contact.

After a while, skittery slowly turned around so that he was facing Bumlets again, letting his hand drop from his back. He could see tears starting to dwell in Skitterys eyes. He just looked so drained, as if any personality behind those eye bags had been stolen.

"Ise- ise sorry..." skittery trailed off. He just sounded broken.

"Hey, it's okay, come here." Bumlets said in a gentle voice opening his arms up.

Skittery looked around, unsure for a second, then cooperated and climbed into his grasp. Bumlets wrapped his arms around his torso, and Skittery felt warm for the first time in weeks. He let the warmness wash over his body and nuzzle in. He felt like a real person again.

"Ise just don't knows what's wrong with me." Skitterys muffled voice came from Bumlets shoulder.

"Nothin' is wrong with youse." A voice stated from behind the two boys, they both swivled to see Swifty stood over them, looking down with big, sympathetic eyes. He then sat on the other side of Skittery and put an arm around his shoulders, to which he dissolved into him with his cheek pressed against Swiftys shoulder.

They sat there like that, all tangled and grateful for what felt like hours. Skittery felt like himself again for the first time in what felt like forever. The coldness outside was kept at bay in this moment, and all of the negative thoughts consuming him seemed to be locked away with Bumlets and Swifty holing the key. He had needed this for weeks and never knew that it was as simple as to ask his closest newsies to remind him that he could feel things other than emptiness.

"Thank youse." Skittery offered to the boys, Swifty kissed the top on his head.

"Now..." Bumlets chucked cupping Skitterys face in his hands, "Are youse in a betta mood?"

"Mhm"

"Youse don't look it, give us a smile." Bumlets prompted.

Skittery suddenly became very embarrassed about the situation and couldn't muster up the confidence to flash a smile.

"no." He glared, his cheeks burning red.

At that, Swifty began to tickle up and down Skitterys sides, forcing the widest, most face splitting smile to appear.

"Now thats much betta!" Bumlets smirked.

"Sthahahahap!" Skittery giggled and squirmed, laughing for the first time in days.

"Now are youse in a good mood?" Swifty teased.

Skittery was too over-come with laughter to answer, so he just frantically nodded his head as he slumped against Swiftys chest. He stopped his attack. Both boys stared down at skittery with the most love-sick eyes anyone had ever seen, grins etched across their faces with a beautifully soft gaze

"Glad ta hear it."

With that, Bumlets pulled the covers over them as they all cuddled into each other, Skittery in the middle, hoping to keep the unforgiving nature of winter outside.

Crying 😭 that is so funny

One of my favorite historical strike moments (aka historical Mush)

Okay, so by like the 5th day of the strike, there was a newsboy being guarded by a police officer, so the newsies were trying to find out how to soak the kid.

Mush was like “the cop’s too fat to catch me”, snatched the kids papers, and had the cop chase him so the others could beat the kid up.

Anyway that’s 100% something movie Mush would do, and no I won’t take criticism.

NEWSIES HEADCANONS (Blink and Jack)

1. The protective and scary older brothers, contradicting to crutchie and Mush being the caring older brothers. If a kid is upset, mush and crutchie comfort and Blink snd jack find and confront.

2. They bully each other 24/7 because they know they can say the most diabolical things to each other without the other getting offended

3. They people watch over the fire escape, they sometimes voice in for the people and think it's the funniest thing ever.

4. Blink will take the piss by talking to Jack in a cowboy accent, and Jack will return it with a pirate accent (cuz yo the eyepatch)

5. When blush and javid hang out, mush and davey will sit there reading and giggling whilst blink, and Jack do some devious activities (like melting stuff with a match), not even a foot away.

6. Blink is really easily rage bated, and Jack finds it hilarious

7. Once they spent a whole afternoon trying to learn to backflip, it did not work

8. They play a game where they see who can charm the most women whilst selling.

9. Hugged once and it was so awks they never did it again.

10. They love each other secretly and really value their friendship, but neither of them woukd ever admit

2. Daveys parents really like mush because he's so kind and polite, so Mush goes round for dinner and sleeps over a lot to be a "good influence" on davey

3. Mush and Davey are the duo that develop the same laugh from hanging out so much

4. Mush is daveys. "I wasn't meant to tell anyone this, but..." person (mainly because Jack CAN NOT keep a secret for the life of him)

5. They platonically cuddle all the time because they're both very clingy and physical people

6. Davey will gossip to Mush about all the drama and relationships at his school after he goes back and Mush will eat it up

7. Davey gifted Mush a notepad for his birthday so he could practise writing

8. They constantly say the exact same thing at the exact same time and hysterically giggle after

9. Once davey was hanging out with the other newsies, and he heard that Mush had arrived, and his eyes lit up so bad that Mush literally wanted to cry

10. They find everything absaloutly hilarious once they're together
