Hai!! I haven’t seen too much art of Hunter with his palisman when he’s in the Golden Guard outfit soooooo this happened XD. It took quite a while but I’m proud of it!! I wasn’t initially planning on it being lineless but once I finished the sketch I thought it’d look good like this.

Cardinal

I found out some really cool symbolism and sayings behind cardinals and 100% I had to draw Hunter and his palisman once I did XD

So, in some cultures (such as Christianity) cardinals represent ancestors and loved ones who have passed. If one visits you, it’s a message or sign from them. There’s also some sayings like “When a cardinal appears in your yard, it's a visitor from heaven” and “cardinals appear when angels are near”. Disclaimer: I don’t believe this kind of stuff but it’s cool nonetheless XD

This could line up with my theory that Hunter is a clone of Phillip Wittebane’s brother, who also seemed to have a cardinal palisman. I wonder if Rascal will be able to lore drop to Hunter now that they can speak to him lol.

WAIT since the frobots seem to be capable of free will… Imagine Darcy caught a butler bot sabotaging her and it said, “have fun with that, flip phone!” in its little fucking accent before flying out a window. She stood there speechless for a second then spluttered and ran over to the ledge to shout, “WELL, YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS!!” She grumbled then turned to stomp out of the room but spun back around and quickly added, “WALL-E!!!!!” in the most wrathful tone possible.

I’ve never seen anyone else write, draw, or even mention this concept so I’ve got a hot take for y’all:

Darcy comes up with all sorts of fun derogatory names to call their frobots.

Like imagine one can’t find something they told it to grab for them and they scream, “IT’S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE, YA WAFFLE IRON!!”

Or a bot bumps against them in the hall and they shove it out of the way and say “Watch it, roomba!”

Or a couple are trying to lift something and Darcy sighs and goes, “You pathetic crockpots, PUT YOUR BACKS INTO IT!!”

It’s even in character imo. I mean Darcy has Marcy’s memories from Earth so they’d still know plenty of household appliances to compare some bots to hehe.

I think your amphibia analysis is spot on. Marcy did get forgotten by pretty much everyone she loved, proving her fears where right all along(still don’t care for evil Marcy though). I get the impression that the writers just..didn’t feel all that bad about, and that her stabbing and subsequent possession was a punishment for her previous actions.

I mean it is actually BAD for writers to hold back and be too nice to their characters XD. There’s no story without struggle. But unnecessary pain that doesn’t push the story is another thing. I feel like Yunan, Olivia, and (kinda) Anne simply not showing much care towards Marcy in s3 might have been a cop-out for the writers to bring more focus to Anne, the protagonist. I’m of course not sure, but that’s all I can really think of so I’m livid.

What I’m saying is: the stabbing and possession is okay (from a writing perspective), in my opinion, but avoiding Marcy’s arc and not really giving her the time of day in s3 is A WHOLE OTHER THING. I understand that Anne IS the protagonist and Marcy was… incapacitated for a while, but little things like making a few characters Actually Care wouldn’t have taken much extra screen time (if any). The only reason I can think of as far as why the writers didn’t let that happen was that the extra drama around Marcy would’ve taken some focus from Anne. Which is dumb because she gets plenty and the whole story hinges on the trio’s friendship, so ALL of their arcs should be incredibly important…

This show had SUCH cool concepts and set up, but they kinda dropped the ball in s3…. I was theorizing about so many theories for Marcy’s arc, her possession, and how those would get resolved, but then they gave her almost no development/screentime, snipped a cord, had a one minute talk, then moved on :T
