One thing I really like about Ninjago being a show about lego people is to see how each artist in the fandom representsthe characters.

Those two are actually pretty similar if you think about it.
I just love how Arin 100% intended to sharpen those pencils, all the others ninjas would have thrown those pencils away immediately but if he had the chance he would have returned them perfectly sharpened.

Jay is problably an field agent in the administration but I think it would be funny if he actually is in the support division and he watch all the cool agents going on dangerous mission all around the realms while he is stuck in his office fixing the field agent's taser gun and preparing them coffee.
He is both dying from boredom and going insane with jealousy at the same time.
