Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan spoilers!
I watched TWoK for the first time today.
It’s also the first time I cried when watching a movie.
I got spoiled one time, and knew Spock was going to die.
I later learned that it was going to be in TWoK.
Yet even with that knowledge, something about this scene, and the scenes following it, just hurts. (That’s great writing, of course)
Spock, Kirk and McCoy’s friendship is something that has warmed my heart since I started watching Star Trek. It’s such a special bond.
To see it affected in such a way…
One of my best friends reminds me of Spock, so to associate that person so strongly to him definitely helped invoke an emotional reaction from me.
“I have been—and always shall be—your friend”
Man, did that line hit hard.
