This is coyote! An oc of my friend @xMaGikx/ I met on roblox! They don't have Tumblr but gave me permission to post art of them anyway! I think they're really pretty!
This is not my oc! Please DO NOT COPY!!!
I grew up in a log cabin in the middle of the woods so I'm used to lots of wildlife, we even had a bear open a door and walk in. Now I live on a main street of a small town with a BBQ place across from me in a state that's hunted bears out of large areas. This mean I now have wild deer that come right up onto my porch, I assume this is because plants are there in the warmer months, and when I open the door to take my dog out they stare back at us from inches away before taking off. We've also had a huge coyote trying to get into out garbage can at night. Living in the woods they're much more shy and skittish while in towns they're too used to it
This one was just rotting away in my files when I drew it two days ago. I don’t like a lot of things about this piece, because I wanted it to be good and actually serious, but it just didn’t come out the way I wanted. So, there’s Samantha and her packs of dogs, coyotes, and wolves surrounding Jeremy. I thought it would be neat if all forms of canines listened to her and became aggressive when she was.
I've gathered all the therian symbols I've made and thrown them into RedBubble, so now YOU can get them for yourself and show off your own theriotypes!
And it's great timing to get them as well cuz RedBubble currently has a sale on!

In #LosAngeles and #griffithpark I was shooting for a doc I'm wrapping up when I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. Five coyotes! I tracked them for about half a mile and was about to get ahead of them enough times to shoot this. Very exciting! #wildlife #nature #Predator #LosAngeles #coyote #environment #natgeo #natgeowild https://www.instagram.com/p/B51IL-2pigm/?igshid=1apyw36a9mymd
It's okay to paint over your Polaroids that don't turn out.
From Nature:
“[U]nlike the other [large American] predators, coyotes have thrived in the past 150 years. Once restricted to the western plains, they now occupy most of the continent and have invaded farms and cities, where they have expanded their diet to include squirrels, household pets and discarded fast food.
Researchers have long known the coyote as a master of adaptation, but studies over the past few years are now revealing how [they] succeed where many other creatures have suffered. Coyotes have flourished in part by exploiting the changes that people have made to the environment.
Also, fun fact:
The [coyotes] that arrived in the northeastern United States and Canada in the 1940s and 50s were significantly larger on average than those on the Great Plains... [Researchers] found that these northeastern coyotes carried genes from Great Lakes wolves, showing that the two species had interbred as the coyotes passed through that region. “Coyotes mated with wolves in the 1800s, when wolf populations were at low density because of human persecution,” says Kays. In those circumstances, wolves had a hard time finding wolf mates, so they settled for coyotes.
Compared with the ancestral coyotes from the plains, the northeastern coyote–wolf hybrids have larger skulls, with more substantial anchoring points for their jaw muscles. Thanks in part to those changes, these beefy coyotes can take down larger prey.
