Cyanotypes Are So Fun - Blog Posts

the first in a series of blue cyanotype prints depicts white, flowing, branch-like shapes beginning at the top of the page and descending down to the bottom. various tendrils of energy burst off in different directions off the page. small white particles are dispersed across the page, and blown-up drawings of microscopic dinoflagellates are also placed around the image.
a second blue cyanotype print depicts similar branch-like shapes to the first, though this time the flowing shapes are a pale blue and ascend from the lower left corner to the upper right corner of the page. pale blue fish resembling perches swim upwards and along the shapes, and more white particles are scattered around the page.
a third cyanotype print depicts the head and curved neck of a heron, blue on a white background. a fish comes in from the top left of the page, entering the heron's open beak. more flowing shapes are overlaid on the shape of the heron, as though flowing through its throat and body. they flow in a reverse S shape down the page, exiting in the bottom right.
a fourth and final blue cyanotype print. the pale blue energy forms come from the bottom right of the page, forking and branching into separate tendrils. this time, instead of entending off the page, these shapes taper off and stop. along the shapes, small white fungal forms appear to be growing, like mushrooms on a tree branch. they release small white spores across the page.

FLUX
