Young Justice x Encanto: Og 6’s Reactions to Watching Encanto
*In my alternative universe, Superboy and Wally have returned after S4
-Conner/Superboy would definitely relate to Mirabel since S1 him wanted Superman to recognize him, and he was very insecure about his lack of having all of Superman’s powers.
-He would feel bad for Mirabel and probably tear up at “Waiting for a Miracle.”
-Camilo would be Wally and Dick’s favorite character since he’s them if they had M’gann’s shapeshifting power.
-Mirabel would remind M’gann of herself back in S1.
-M’gann thinks about bioship whenever she sees Casita.
-Artemis would be reminded of her and Jade’s relationship (pre S4) when watching Isabela and Mirabel’s interactions.
-Kaldur would relate to Luisa and to her song “Surface Pressure.”
-Almost everyone would dislike Isabela and Abuela 10 minutes into the movie.
-Dick’s comment toward Isabela, “I knew she gave me bad vibes. She controls plants like Ivy.”
-Everyone would be upset with the family for leaving Mirabel out of the photo, especially Conner, M’gann, and Artemis.
-Antonio is instant best boy in the group’s eyes.
-Artemis sees Antonio as Lian.
-Wally and Dick laugh at the dancing donkeys in Luisa’s song.
-Wally’s reaction to seeing Bruno’s room, “Even I’m getting tired looking at those stairs.”
- Dick and Artemis are impressed by Mirabel’s parkour skills. Dick, “For someone with no training, she’s doing pretty good.” Artemis, “And people say she doesn’t have a gift.”
-Everyone has their “oh shit” face when seeing Mirabel on the prophecy tablet.
-No one is not jamming to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”
-M’gann finds Pepa and Felix’s relationship cute.
-Camilo’s part is Dick and Wally’s favorite part.
-Dick and Wally after hearing why everyone dislikes Bruno, “He’s literally just the messenger,” “And of course you’re going to lose your hair, male-pattern baldness is common in your 50s.”
-Constant cringing and laughing during the engagement dinner.
-Wally’s joke, “This is a worse disaster than our first missions.”
-All six of them are in the “Protect Bruno” club.
-M’gann almost cries seeing Bruno’s plate carving and his view of the dinner table. She wants to give him a big hug.
-Everyone agrees that Isabela’s redemption was not as well done, but still feel bad for her because of the arranged marriage.
-Kaldur would also relate to Isabela’s song “What Else Can I Do?” since he feels pressured to be perfect.
-The hate for Abuela grows after her outburst.
-Cheered for Mirabel when she defended herself.
-Casita’s “death” dropped the mood down fast.
-Artemis and M’gann cried at Pedro’s death because it reminded them of their partner’s “death”. Their spouses were on comfort patrol.
-The group have slightly forgiven Abuela for her actions.
-Mirabel getting her doorknob got everyone in the feels.
-All agree that the new family photo was way better than the other one.
Overall, everyone would really like this movie.
Anyone else think if ‘91 Drakepad got married they would be similar to Pepa and Félix from Encanto.
Like LP is to Drake, Félix is supportive of Pepa and helps her when she is in emotional distress. Drake and Pepa are emotionally-driven and need non-judgmental partners to feel valid in their negative feelings. Pepa is also a bit narcissistic(not as much as Drake) since in “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” she refers to her and Félix‘s wedding as “my wedding day,” and she gets annoyed when her husband cuts in with his input.

I made a list of HCs that start up after my fic Hermanito on ao3 (It's a Hurt/Comfort one shot, go ahead n check it out if you'd like!)
Practically all of the HCs are centered around mainly Bruno due to the fic, and how the family interacts with him

-Antonio's leopard stuffy definitely ends up becoming Bruno's, much to the kid's amusement- and Bruno doesn't even realize it. He goes to bed and always wakes up with it in his arms (Antonio's animal friends always help him sneak the stuffy into Bruno's room, Dolores chips in by always letting Antonio know when Bruno needs the stuffed leopard to help him sleep better)
- After the courtyard incedent the entire family becomes a bit clingy, almost overbearingly so- even Casita. Though the quiter kids like Dolores and Louisa usually know when Bruno wants company without conversation, which they're cool with.
- Mira and Julieta bake Bruno's favorite sweets and pass "emergency" packs of them out to everyone in the family each morning before they start their busy days so if anyone notices his mood slipping they can stop what they're doing to give him a snack n lift his day a bit
- The first time a villager badmouths Bruno its on his own birthday, and it happens in front of the entire family. Unexpectedly, out of literally anyone it could have been, its the normally easy-going brother-in-law duo Felix and Augustin that get in the villagers face n threaten to make their kneecaps work backwards for daring to threaten their Hermanito (They have never in all the time theyve known him ever called him that before and Bruno nearly cries because holy shit he has brothers now-)
- Julieta nearly joined her husband and brother in law but decided it was a far better view to watch her love get so riled up and protective (One of the many reasons she loves him) She instead makes sure no one else joins and interrupts the brother-in-laws absolutely verbally destroying the villager who upset Bruno
- Isa learns what his favorite plants are and one day while the other members of the family are dragging him around town to socialize she sneaks into his room (the old guest room) and that night when he goes in his room hes greeting with the sight of the plain looking room being covered in all his favorite plants in pots and flowing out his window, Casita using the wooden window covers to wave at him. (He cries. A lot. Who wouldnt?)
- He follows Louisa around sometimes when shes running errands and tries to help- (and she lets him sometimes- passing him the smallest ((and sometimes, empty-)) bags when she hauls large carts of grain bags, passing him the reigns of the sweetest most gentle n loving donkey among the large group that has managed to escape the pen again, passing him stones the size of about a football when shes moving large boulders, etc). Despite what one would normally assume he doesn't miss the fact that she's sort of babying him, but he never says anything because he knows it's a big step for her to let anyone help at all- so he simply pays her back by making sure she drinks plenty of water and fussing over any scraps or bruises she gets from overworking herself
- Bruno becomes a sort of secondary Doctor due to the fact he's started to constantly carry around a pack full of water and some of Julieta's cooking whenever he heads to town with anyone in the family
- Augustin and Felix discover in the most amusing way possible that Bruno has the lowest alcohol tolerance known to man (it was during a celebration of some kind, they cheerfuly challenged him to a friendly drinking match- he made it maybe 5 sips in and was immediatly done for. Everyone at the party silently vowed to protect him with their lives when they witnessed him talking to someone about his incredible nieces & nephews n he immediatly started to cry over how amazing and adorable they all were and theyd all grown up so strong "You don't understand Julian, theyre the best, my god I'm so proud of them-")
- Him n Alma sit down to have tea together on Wednesdays and Sundays, quietly chatting about anything that comes to mind. Sometimes other members of the family join them, but on days where its just them they get to slowly heal their broken bond. Alma works on her patience n fear, Bruno works on his communication and anxiety
- Camilo plays pranks on anyone who insults Bruno behind his back- his pranks can sometimes dance the line between fun and cruelty though when it comes to the folks that dare insult Bruno to the mans own face (The first time he witnessed such an event, the crestfallen look on his tio's face made the weight of his own words hit him even harder, guilt over the comments he'd made about him during the song sung to Mira clouding his heart until he decides to go after the villager he'd seen insult the ex-wall hermit. He felt a lot better after and hasnt stopped since)
- The family have daily cuddle nights where they gather up a bunch of blankets n pillows n they just talk to eachother, helping eachother understand n communicate better.
One night when the younger kids are asleep, Bruno quietly opens up about how everyone's past behavior and his isolation has effected him- and once he starts, he cant stop, spilling every feeling of hurt thats ever hit his heart until all any of them can do is simply hold him and listen closely, giving him the aknowledgment and support he needs
- Sometimes when he's overwhelmed Bruno crawls back into his hole in the wall, though he usually warns someone before he does so there isn't panic over his disappearance. Over time he gradually works out of the habit, learning to talk to anyone in his family when he's struggling with things, though it takes years
- As Bruno starts to adjust to being around people again, his dry jokes become even dryer- Puns, dad jokes (tio jokes?), You name it-
He managed to get Pepa to snort over one of his oddly timed jokes once and nothing could take the smile off of his face for days afterwards
- Bruno sat Mariano down one day for a private conversation. The poor lad left the room paler than a sheet of paper, muttering about the color green and rats for a few days after, never explaining just what happened in that room ("Mi amor, your tio Bruno loves you, and if I ever piss him off just know I love you-")
Once he'd gotten over Bruno's terrifying hurt-her-theyll-never-find-you speech (Bruno eventually apologized, though when he shook Mariano's hand his grip was surprisingly strong) the two of them bonded surprisingly well over a joint love for writing poetry
A family that kills together.
Mirabel, rushes in panicking. "On no on no no no no"
Augustin "Mijita what's wrong?"
Mirabel, sobbing "I messed up, I messed up so bad!"
Luisa "I'm on it just show me the body and I'll take care of it."
Mirabel "But.."
Pepa "Shh shh darling, Tia will wash away all the evidence."
Antonio, smiling, surround by pigs "Did you know my friends can consume every part of a human other than teeth and hair."
Isa, very matter of fact, "We can bury those in my room."
Dolores, slyly "From what I've been hearing this person was planning to leave the encanto in secret for awhile now."
Camilo, shifting into multiple people "And trust me, we can make that bealivable."
Julieta, reassuringly "And if anyone asks you with me all day helping make Gelatina Negra okey."
Felix, happily "But trust me no one will ask."
Bruno, simply "And if bad comes to worst pin the blame on me, I'm already old and hated, plus everyone thinks I killed that goldfish."
Mirabel "I didn't kill anyone! I accidentally broke a hole in Casita!"
Alma "Then get the spackle and stop forcing us to come up with plans on the spot."
(The ghost of Pedro is laughing his ass off.)
Random bystander "Why is Augustine refusing to sit down?"
Antonio "Abuelita was telling everyone about how Abuelito's favorite thing to do with her was carry her around, even when she was pregnant, so then Mariano decided to pick up Dolores and spin her around and they got all lovey dovey. Then papa lifted mama up over her head and made her smile so then Camilo showed off that he could pick up Mirabel and rock her, after that Luisa came by and picked up me Tio Bruno and Isa, not to show off, she didn't know what was going on she was carrying a dresser with one hand and we were standing in the way."
Bystander "Okay but...?"
Antonio "So Tio Augustine tried to pick up Tia Julietta but while he was walking he fell into a beehive and while being chased ran to water... A jellyfish sting him on the butt."
Bystander "Ah"
Antonio "But Don't worry Tia is making nachos!"

Young Pepa: The farmers need rain and me being sad and crying is the best way for me to get rain without also bringing lightning. All of my hair falling out, being alone forever, having to wear colors that clash with my hair....

I just thought about this but…
Something I absolutely love about that part of the “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” song in Encanto where they all sing together is that they all didn’t just superimpose pre-recordings of their individual parts from earlier in the song.
You can distinctly hear Camilo singing the last “…he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams” in a different melody. Also, he doesn’t have that rasp in his voice anymore like the first time when we were all hit with the “sEVEN FOOT FRAME, rrATSS ALONG HIS BACK…”
You hear Isabela’s “And I’m fine! I’m fine! I’m fine!” which I think is fantastic that it foreshadows how Bruno’s prediction for her seemed positive but not to her
Dolores has variation of melody and sings along to the “I’m fine!” part in a lower tone compared to Isabela’s high-pitched singing. This is pretty awesome and a good complement because she’s in love with the man Isabela is supposed to marry, and neither of them are fine even though they pretend they are
We still have Pepa’s same melody and lyrics because her part is pretty much the backbone of the whole song
Felix’s part was just a bit different in melody as to complement Pepa’s part
On a side note, I wish Luisa would’ve had a part in this song, because I know full well she’d have nothing negative to say about my man. But sis was NOT having it, she looked so sad while everyone’s just vibing (even Bruno himself) to the Bruno diss track
Anyway… I’m probably looking too far into this, and Lin Manuel Miranda probably had them do that so it would sound right when all the parts were together, but it doesn’t take away the fact that it was pretty freaking cool okay

Ok so if you’ve seen the post of where Mirabel and Camilo are hugging David then you know who he is

It took me awhile to find out how to write and draw this character because with his first one I didn’t really feel that it was him or right for him
this was his first design, originally he was supposed be 13, have the gift of Empathy and that he was deaf, also he had a sister named Elena, and I liked but only for a little while, so I dived into rewatching some Steven Universe episodes (even SUF) and then that got me thinking, the fact that he was hating on his Moms decisions and that it was placed down on him, all of her mistakes, and problems she caused just got passed down to him and he barely knew shit. The absolute resentment he felt when he heard that Pink hurt her first Pearl in episode 2 or 3 of SUF, he was so fed up with fixing his mothers problems and hearing about it again.
Rose didn’t mean for that to happen, even though made mistakes she had good intention, she went being a Child throwing temper tantrum left and right to being a matured being. The things she did can’t be easily forgiven but she tried to be a better person.
(Used to be a hater for Pink/Rose but after rewatching some episodes and analysis videos it changed to just being neutral about her)

I loved it, it fitted him more than the first one I changed his gift to Cyrokinesis (because of the let it go lyric at the end so I thought yeah this could work?)
It has a reflection on his emotions when he was both young and how he is now. When he was young you could he was like Jack Frost, He loved snow days cause you can have fun with friends and family, but as he got older his personality on the outside changed from snow to ice. He was treated the same way as Bruno, other than the fact that he always took the blame for his cousins problems and mistakes.
I wanted to give him siblings and I wasn’t feeling it for Elena so instead I changed it up. He now has young twin brothers named Hugo and Atifa.
I’m still learning how to texturize African American hair and how to draw digitally because doing line art on it is Torture.
Atifa is older than Hugo by 1min. If you look at Atifa’s shoes they are the colors of his brothers in order David, himself, and then Hugo.
As for their powers Hugo has the Telepathy power and he is deaf and can communicate by ASL or using his gift. I can see him and Dolores getting along pretty well not because she can hear every and he can hear and see images of peoples thoughts, but because he grew attached to her when he was young and saw her as an older sister and they can relate to each other!
For Atifa I transferred the Empathy gift onto him! He is an extrovert and social butterfly, willing to befriend anybody! He likes to hang around his Tias and Tios mostly with Pepa and Félix, he also helps her with her emotions only when she‘s alright with it. He can absorb other peoples emotions onto himself but it mentally drains him and he gets tired.
They were born 7 months after Bruno’s disappearance, and after they were born Valéria moved back to her old home, because she didn’t want Abuela to treat them like she did with Bruno or anybody else in the family (Mirabel mostly). As the years passed she grew very depressed, always thinking about why Bruno left and thought was because of her since she had anger issues that still need to be resolved, and abandonment issues. She had many emotions towards him, mostly she was sad and mad.
Atifa offered to use his gift to help her but she always refused, always covering it up with a smile and that “I’m fine“ with an excuse. She never lets her emotions get the better of her all the time, she didn’t have the time to cry about someone (who she thought) had walked out on her and her kids! So she always pushed her emotions away and focused on her kids and family more!
Always willing to beat someone’s ass to protect them, and shall always be there for them!
