One exam down, two to go. This is the Rudbeckia fulgida, aka orange coneflower. It is native to eastern North America. It blooms in late summer and is a member of the sunflower family. Crab spider (Misumena vatia) This tiny spider was in a very awkward place and this was the best picture I could get. They are apparently colloquialy known as a White Death Spider, which seems a little dramatic as long as you aren't a bee or butterfly, as these spiders wait on flowers to ambush pollinators. This image was taken with a Nikon 40mm lens on a 12mm extension tube.
