Marble Nails - Blog Posts

Newest water marble, the one I'm currently wearing. I forgot to take pictures of some that I've done over the past few weeks, oops. I had to chop my nails pretty short recently, but let it never be said that water marble only works/looks good on long nails! And I've found I really prefer the look of marbles that use colours from the marble as the base instead of white. It minimizes the appearance of bubbles or bald spots, and if you accidentally wipe off an edge of your design while you're cleaning up around your nails, there isn't any glaring white showing through. It just looks neater and more polished.

colours used: China Glaze Purr-fect Plum, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac

Latest water marble. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of any of the stripey or flowery water marbles I've done, and I really wish I had a better camera to take pictures of this design, because these pictures don't really do it justice. I was trying for a sort of peacock-inspired swirl here, and I am beyond pleased with the result!

Colours used: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I, OPI Thanks a Windmillion, OPI Fly, and China Glaze Man Hunt

Second attempt at water marbling. Designs were still kind of meh, but I loved these colours together.

Colours used: OPI Pink-ing of You (as the base colour and in the marble), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Grey Area, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I

1st attempt at water-marbling. This wasn't the most interesting water marble because I was pretty hesitant about messing up the design and ruining everything, but it came out nice enough to give me the confidence to do it again, and I've had far too much fun practising and refining this technique. There are just so many colour combinations and patterns to try and experiment with, and I love that while you can control how it looks to an extent, the nature of the technique ensures that no two nails will look exactly the same. I'm gonna do a little bit of a photo spam of all the water marble designs I've done that I remembered to take (crappy cellphone) pictures of.

Colours used: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green With Envy, and Nabi Metallic L. Blue (the name is a lie, this colour is very green)
