Can’t decide how I feel about New Media being a overly sexualized Asian woman bc on one side, this could be social commentary on how Koreans are being fetishized bc of the easy access to attractive Kpop stars America has and casting a young, Korean actress and making her hella flirty is a conscience effort to highlight the racist mindset of what non Asians think of Asian women (fun fact, when I was thirteen a white boy sat on my lap and told me Asians make the best strippers before proceeding to slap my thighs), thus New Media’s image in contrast with Old Media’s classical feminine and one time daring Bowie look when she’s an older white woman. The difference between people seeing Meryl Streep and Ally Maki.
O r , this is how the scriptwriters really see Asian women as sexual commodities with soft voices and still outdated fashion choices. :///
