THREE! SMILES GO FOR MILES!
I've had a lot of fun making these so I wanted to do my take on our dear guild too <3
i found this job and thought it was so funny đ
big dinosaur girl and her little water strider body gaurd
i ended up recruiting the aerodactyl from the job (which is why i accepted it in the first place... bc i wanted an aerodactyl) and named her tamako :3
i decided to make her and her little buddy canon in my pmd au
since all recruits from jobs are lv 1 i imagine tamako never really fought anyone so she never got stronger and was pretty weak but drizzle is like a lv 100 surskit or something
happy halloween everyone, i spent my afternoon with this yipee
and yes dusknoir as the grim reaper is obvious but i did exactly to make one joke
drew futuretrioshipping on the tabel in comics class :3
finally went back and played through explorers of sky after getting walled by dialga as a kid very good game used it as an excuse to give aseprite a proper go (bonus shitpost under the cut)
Poketober Day 15: Ghost Type
The binger of souls will always await you in the forest...
PMD: Explorers of Sky - A Comic Adaptation
Okay so maybe I was slightlyambitious by thinking i could release once a week, so once every two weeks will do. Either way, DID YOU KNOW TORCHIC IS ACTUALLY SURPRISINGLY HARD TO DRAW-
PMD: Explorers of Sky - A Comic Adaptation
Ended up continuing it after all! Let's see how long I last until I give up lmao. Still, these don't take too long to make, so I think I could release five pages every week? I mean the whole reason I started this in the first place was because I wanted to force myself to complete something, no matter what the end result looked like, so I think it's feasible to think I could make this comic an actual thing, as long as I keep it as casual as I started it.
Also, I don't know who allowed me to draw a Treecko, but they need to get fired right this instant.
PMD: Explorers of Sky - A Comic Adaptation
Been replaying PokĂŠmon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky and I got the urge to turn it into a comic like I'd wanted to do as a kid. Didn't want to spend too much time on it though because I have neither the time nor the energy to invest myself in a huge project so I got the idea of limiting myself to only working 30 minutes per page, an idea which I fantastically failed to achieve (i think i must have spent about two hours on the third page), but I still managed to whip these up in two evenings' time, which isn't too bad in my opinion. Maybe I'll continue it?
(also, please forgive my undignified handwriting)
The past few days one of my friend has been playing through Explorers of Sky, and heâs been streaming his run for me to watch while we VC on Discord. He knows of some of the characters that show up, but heâs going in pretty much spoiler free. Tonight he got to chapter 10 (Dusknoirâs first appearance) and mentioned that he remembered seeing Grovyle and Dusknoir being a ship online. Heâs gonna be SOOOOOOO confused when he finds out they actually both want to kill each other currently instead of making out.
Here's a piece I wrote about my PMD Explorers of Sky OCs based on a scene from the game that really stuck with me. I wanted to explore how the reveal in the dark future would play out with my renditions of the characters, and I had a lot of fun with it! I'll definitely do more stuff like this in the future.
âThe passage of time should be just up ahead! Letâs hurry along now.â
Clay, Leo, and Grovyle followed Celebi into the clearing. Sure enough, the passage was just across the way. Grovyle took a deep breath. He was exhausted, but there was no time to rest. When Dusknior had taken him back to the dark future, he thought for sure that he had failed his mission. Now he had a second chance, and there was no way he was going to let it slip.
âSo this will really send us back home?â Leo asked. âCan we finally go back to our time?â
âYes,â Grovyle responded. âThe passage of time will allow all three of us to return to the past. I used it when I came to your time originally.â
âThatâs right!â Celebi added, nodding. âAnd Iâm the only one with the power to open it! Isnât that fun?â
Clay let out a long sigh of relief. âThank goodness. I was worried weâd never see our friends at the guild again. They must be worried sick about us right now.â
As the group approached the passage, Grovyle took one last look around. If everything goes as planned once returning to the past, this will be the last time he sees the dark future. He turned his gaze to Celebi. He knew she could fend for herself, but he couldnât help feeling a tinge of sadness about leaving her alone here yet again.Â
âYouâre sure youâll be ok here on your own?â he asked her.
âYes of course, Grovyle dear! How many times do I need to tell you that I canât ever be caught?â
âI wouldnât be so sure about that,â a familiar voice sneered.
Grovyle felt a crushing wave of dread come over him. He looked back towards the passage of time to find Dusknior waiting in front of it. He had a smug grin on his face.
âYouâŚâ Grovyle muttered.
âYouâve grown careless, Grovyle. I already knew youâd be coming here, but you were also unexpectedly easy to follow. Youâre usually cautious enough to not let that happen.â He chuckled. âThat sudden change will spell your demise. Now Sableye! Seize them!âÂ
Grovyle groaned. âShit, weâre surrounded. Looks like we were followed. Iâm sorry everyone, but weâre going to have to force our way through to get out of this.â
âThatâs fine,â Clay said, readying himself. âTeam Sunspark has faced far more difficult battles than this before.â
Dusknior smirked at them. âOh, you lot wonât be going anywhere. NOW, MASTER DIALGA!â
The ground trembled beneath them. The group looked on in horror as the enraged legend slowly appeared on the mountain in front of them. Clay turned to Grovyle, who wore a distraught look on his face. âIs that-?â
âYes. This is Primal Dialga,â Grovyle said through gritted teeth. âDammit. It looks like this might be the end for us.â
Leo looked at him, shocked. âBut we canât give up! Not when weâre so close!â
âDonât you get it? Primal Dialga is just far too powerful for us to face in our exhausted state. Thereâs simply nothing else we can do.â
âI see you finally grasp the gravity of your situation,â Dusknior sneered. âThe dark future will never be changed. How does it feel knowing that you failed the one thing you devoted your entire life to?â
âI might have failed, but the cause isnât lost. You seem to have forgotten that I didnât go to the past alone. My partner is still there, and I have faith that heâll succeed. I may fall here, but you havenât won!â
âSo youâre still desperately grasping to hope then. If you donât mind, would you be so kind as to share the name of this beloved partner of yours?â
âStop toying with me,â Grovyle growled. âYou know who Clay is, and you know Iâll never forgive you for what you tried to do to him.â
Clay jerked his head towards Grovyle. Did he hear that right? âDid- did you just say his name was Clay?â he asked. âBecause MY name is Clay.â
Grovyle scoffed at him. âMust be some sort of twisted coincidence. I wish you could have met my Clay. You two probably would have gotten along. Not that it matters now.â
Dusknior chuckled. âOh, I can assure you that the similarities extend well past sharing a name. You see, our good friend Clay here used to be a human! He washed up on the beach one day as shinx with no memories of his past.â
Grovyleâs eyes widened. âWha- What are you trying to say?â
âAnd it gets even better! Clay also happens to possess a very special ability. When he touches certain things, he sometimes has visions of events from the past or the future. Does a power like that sound familiar to you?âÂ
Grovyleâs heart dropped. âThe dimensional scream? No⌠thereâs no way. It canât be true. Youâre lying.â He turned to Clay and grabbed his sholders. âPlease Clay⌠please tell me heâs lying.â
Clay looked back at him, terrified. âIâm so sorry Grovyle, but everything he said is true. As hard as it might be to believe, I really was a human. Itâs the only thing about my past that Iâm certain about. And I donât know why, but I also can use the dimensional scream. Itâs helped Leo and I complete tons of rescue and explorations. I told Dusknior about this in the past before we were taken here.â
âItâs true,â Leo added. âHis dimensional scream has helped us locate main outlaws and points of interest during our guild work.â
Grovyleâs heart dropped. Tears began welling up in his eyes. He slowly turned back to Dusknior. His voice trembled as he spoke. âNo⌠This is really?â
âDo you finally get it Grovyle? CLAY is your partner! Heâs even wearing the same scarf YOU gave him; I donât even know how someone as perceptive as you could miss that! I found him before you in the past and took advantage of his amnesia to convince him to fight against you. It made capturing you two laughably easy. The unwavering faith in him you so foolishly clung to wonât matter. The timeline will not be changed, and Iâll eliminate both of you here to guarantee it!â
Celebi went pale. âWhat? Thereâs simply no way. I could sense that the temporal distortion around you was stronger than Grovyle and Leo, but I thought nothing of it. To think you were Clay the whole timeâŚâ She trailed off.
. Â
Clay didnât know what to think or how to feel. He felt a rush of tears beginning to form. He was from the future? And Grovyle was his partner? But he had spent the past few months desperately trying to take down Grovyle! Was he really just being used all this time? The thought of it infuriated him. He glared at Dusknior through his wet eyes. âSo thats it then? Was I nothing more than a pawn to you?â
Dusknior gave him a dejected look. âTrust me Clay, it wasnât anything personal. I took no joy in this. You clearly had no knowledge of your previous mission, but I couldnât risk your memories and motivation returning. I HAD to make sure the future remained intact. Taking advantage of your memory loss was the only way for me to guarantee that.â
âHOW CAN YOU SAY THAT?â Clay screamed. âNone of this was personal? Bullshit! Everything youâve ever said to me was just a lie! You turned me against my own family! You made me HATE him! You nearly made us KILL each other! And now you have the nerve to say you DIDNâT want to do it? Pfft. Yeah, sure. Ok. I hope it was worth it then. I hope your life is better once Leo and I are dead and gone, because apparently killing us is the only thing that will let you sleep at night.â He took a shaky breath before adding, âYouâre the most pathetic pokemon to ever walk this earth.â
Leo thought he saw Dusknior cringe at Clayâs last comment. âWhat? Is he actually upset by this?â He quickly shook the thought. Right now he had to focus on finding a way out of this. Surely there was something they could do. âWait. We just need to get past these sableye and weâd be able to make a run for it. Could Celebi send us forward in time to achieve that?â Â He slightly nudged her to get her attention. âYes dear?â she asked.
He leaned closer to her and whispered, âYou can travel through time right? Thatâs how the passage of time works, Iâm assuming. Are you able to send us slightly into the future?â
âI can, but not by much. Especially with Dialga here. His command over time is significantly stronger than mine, so he could interfere with anything I try to do.â
âThatâs fine. It only needs to be a few seconds. Just enough to let us get past these sableye.â
âOh, thatâll be quite easy. A few seconds is nothing.â
âGood. Just wait until the moment right before they attack us. Iâll let Clay and Grovyle know.â
He turned back towards Clay, who was an absolute mess. He was still sobbing, and his front paws were soaked from trying to wipe away his tears. It killed him to see Clay like this. He had never really even seen him sad before, so to see him crying this much was heartbreaking. He wasnât sure if he would ever forgive Dusknoir for doing this to him. He kneeled down next to him .âClay? Hey Clay listenââ
Clay looked up at him. âLeo?â he said quietly, voice breaking. âIâm so sorry. Iâm so so sorry. Youâre here because of me and my past. Itâs my fault weâre going to die. If you werenâtââ
Leo cut him off. âLook at me Clay. None of this is happening because of you. Dusknoir said it himself. But we donât have the luxury to think about that right now. I know how difficult this is for you, but you have to keep fighting. After all, weâre both still here! Team Sunspark hasnât been defeated yet!â
Clayâs eyes widened. He sniffled and wiped away his tears again. âYou- youâre right,â he croaked. âI think Iâll manage for now. But GrovyleâŚâ
They both looked over towards him, where he stood frozen in place.
â
Grovyle' stood frozen in place's thoughts were racing. His vision was blurred. His ears were ringing. His heart was pounding. He could barely breathe.Â
âThis is my fault,â he thought. âI did this to him. Iâm the reason why he went to the past. Iâm the reason why he lost his memory. I hurt him. I hurt his friends, and I didnât care. I didnât even bother to learn anything about him. And now heâs going to die because of me. The future wonât even be changed. â
âGrovyleâŚâ a quiet voice called out.
âClay?â He turned his head to make out a familiar figure. A young human boy with dark, messy hair stood there. He had bright green eyes and a blue scarf wrapped around his neck. It was Clay. âWhat- how didââ
Clayâs voice called out again. âGrovyle!â
He blinked hard and rubbed his eyes, only to find that Clay was gone. In his place stood a shinx with the same eyes and scarf. âThatâs right. This is what Clay looks like now. Itâs because of me. Itâs because I couldnâtââÂ
âGROVYLE!!!â Clay screamed. Grovyle jolted back to reality, regaining his senses. He looked around wildly. They were still cornered by the sableye, and Dusknior remained a few meters behind them. The passage of time was still out of reach. He looked back over to Clay. His eyes were filled with tears, and his whole body was trembling. His fur was sparking with electricity. Grovyle opened his mouth to speak, but he could barely get any words out.Â
âClay,â he stammered. âI- Iâm sorry. I couldnât- this is myââ
âGrovyle please!â Clay cried, voice cracking. âI understand how you feel! This hurts for me too! More than you could imagine. But we canât think about that right now!â He gestured towards the passage of time. âWe can still escape! Despite everything, weâre all still alive! You havenât lost me yet! So please⌠Iâm begging you! Keep fighting! Donât give up hope!â
âBut what could we possibly do? Weâre outnumbered, and weâre up against a legendary. With our injuries we donât stand a chance.â
Leo put a hand on his shoulder. âWe donât need to win! We just need to escape. And we have a plan to do it! Just wait for my signal, and be ready to run for it.â
âHey!â Dusknior shouted at them. âDone saying your goodbyes? Good. Now Sableye, finish them off. Be sure to kill them this time.â
âYES SIR, MASTER DUSKNIOR!â the sableye cheered. They flared their claws and leapt at the group. Just before they struck, Leo called out: âNOW CELEBI!â
Suddenly, the four of them disappeared. âWHAT?! This canât beâ Dusknior screamed. âReveal them, Master Dialga! They cannot be allowed to escape!â
The legend let out a monstrous roar. The air began to ripple a few meters in front of the passage of time. A moment later, Clay, Leo, Grovyle and Celebi reappeared.
âSIEZE THEM SABELEYE! DO NOT LET THEM ESCAPE!â Dusknoir screamed.
Celebi winced. âIâm sorry, but it looks like this is as far as I can take you.â
âThis is enough! We can make it from here!â Leo responded.
Grovyle hesitated for an instant.âBut what about you, Celebi? I canât just leave you! Not when-â
âGrovyle, we have to leave now! This is our only chance!â Clay yelled. âCelebi said sheâd be fine, so we have to trust her!â
âHeâs right,â she said. âGo on now dears! Change the future for all of us!â
Grovyle took one last look at her before turning towards the passage of time. With tears still in his eyes, he nodded at Clay and Leo. The three of them sprinted in, leaving the future of darkness in their past.
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed :D
@heropartnerweek Day 1 - Shiny
For two people that come from a dark future they are pretty luminous. Pringle wonders if Cebolla was also like that as a human.
Do Leo and Clay have any dreams they want to achieve?
Thanks for the ask!! I'm still playing through the postgame of Explorers of Sky right now, so I'll be answering this based in where Clay and Leo are at that point of the story.
Clay wants to be someone that Grovyle would be proud of. After Dialga restored him to the new timeline, Clay slowly started to regain pieces of his memories with Grovyle. This is painful for him because Grovyle essentially raised him in the dark future, and Clay views him as his older brother. This only gets worse as time goes on and he recovers more memories. Despite the pain that this comes with, Clay is determined not to let it get him down. He's determined to live his life to the fullest in the incredible world he protected, because he knows it's what Grovyle would want him to do. He'll keep working hard like he always has, and he'll keep exploring with Leo and helping him achieve his own goals. He'll keep moving forward with a smile on his face, and he'll always be there for Leo, like Grovyle was for him.
Leo dreams becoming as great of an explorer as his parents were. They were master rank explorers, and their exploration team, Team Daybreak, was well known for their many discoveries. Leo wants to achieve Master rank with Clay on Team Sunspark. It seems unattainable to him at first, but he becomes increasingly confident as he explorers more with Clay. He got close to giving up after Clay disappeared, but his return a few months later reignites his motivation. After graduating from Wigglytuff's guild, Team Sunspark quickly becomes known for their explorations of Sky Peak and Blizzard Island. Due to their success in this and in preventing the collapse of Temporal Tower, Clay and Leo become known across the Grass Continent as generational young prodigies, and Team Sunspark becomes recognized as one of the hottest up and coming exploration teams. They're currently at Super Rank, and Leo's more fired up than ever to continue working towards his goal.
Once he achieves master rank, Leo hopes to travel overseas to search for his parents. They went missing a few years before he met Clay while exploring on the Water Continent, and he wants to find out what happened to them. He also wants to discover lots of unique sceneries to paint. He's always looking for fresh inspiration as an artist, and his explorations are a good way at providing that.
Sorry that I went on a bit of a tangent there, but I saw this as an opportunity to dump a lot of the ideas I've had while playing through the postgame. Thanks again for asking!!
Hey! Here's a little thing I wrote for @sincerely-sofie 's The Present is a Gift AU with her characters Twig and Kip. I wanted to get it out sooner, but alas life happened and I was unable to work on it as much as a wanted to. This is also the first time I've done any sort of creative writing in years, so hopefully it isn't too bad. Anyways, here it is! I hope you like it :)
It was dawn when Kip woke up. It was rather early and he was still tired, but he rolled out of bed to go check on Twig. He knew she probably wanted her space, but he couldnât help worrying about her more than usual after the previous few daysâ events. He yawned and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, then quietly cracked open the door of Twigâs room. His heart skipped a beat when he saw that she wasnât there. He rubbed his eyes again to make sure he was seeing right. Yup. Twig wasnât there. Feeling panic begin to set in, Kip took a moment to breath and recollect himself.
âCalm down, thereâs NO need to be freaking out about this,â he thought. âTwig likes going on walks when she needs to clear her head, or if she wants to be alone to think on something. Sheâs probably just doing that. Sheâs been through a ton the past few days, so it makes sense that she would want to do that. Sheâll probably be back here soon.â
Despite knowing that, Kip decided to make a quick check outside anyway. He was already pretty awake after the initial shock of Twigâs absence, and taking a look couldnât hurt. Maybe he could watch the sunrise while he was out there. He hadnât done that in a while, and it would be a good way to unwind for a bit after the stress of the past week.
Apparently Twig had the same idea, because she was already sitting near the edge of the cliff looking off into the distance. She was visibly ok, and even seemed less tense than she had been recently. Despite this, Kip felt the need to make sure she was actually fine. He knew too well how Twig feels the need to hide anything that ails her from everyone no matter how serious it is, so it was going to take more than just visual evidence to convince him.
âHowâve you been holding up?â Kip asked as he approached. Twig jumped a little and spun her head around, relaxing again once she realized it was just him.
âJeez dude, you scared me! Did you have to sneak up on me like that?â
âOh no, I didnât mean to startle you!â Kip responded. He hurried over to where Twig was and sat down next to her. âI just wanted to check up on how you were doing. I saw you werenât in you room and I-â
Twig cut him off. âRelax man, Iâm just giving you a hard time.â She gave him a playful punch to the arm. âAnd, umm. Iâve definitely been better. I think Iâve cried more than enough for an entire lifetime over the past few days. Maybe even two lifetimes. I didnât even know fire types were capable of producing that much water.â
Kip chuckled at that. âYeah, but it needed to happen, you know. Thatâs what you get for being silly and stupid and somehow convincing yourself that none of us like you.â
Twig sighed. âI know, I know, youâre right. It doesnât mean I have to like it though. Itâs physically AND mentally exhausting.â
âI feel you there. I feel worn out, and I havenât cried anywhere near as much as you!â
âYup. I totally have you beat.â
Kip gave her a baffled look. âAre you seriously bragging about how youâve cried more than me?â
âI sure am. I gotta take my wins when I can get âem.â
He burst out laughing at that. âWell, if your jokes are anything to go off of, Iâd say youâre holding up pretty well. Seems to me like the funny Twig I know and love is finally starting to come back. I guess I was worried about nothing.â
Twig shrugged. âI guess.âÂ
Neither one of them said anything else for a while. They sat in silence and watched the sun slowly climb higher on the horizon. It was one of the sunrises with lots of pink mixed in with the oranges and yellows; the kind that Twig loved the most. The sea below them glistened like gemstones, with rolling waves that shimmered in the bright light. Kip had almost forgotten how beautiful the sunrise was at Sharpedo Bluff. Sure, he could watch the sunrise when he was away on his expedition, but they just werenât the same there as they were here. Besides, he was with Twig now, which made it even better. Â
Kip smiled. âI missed this,â he murmured.
âMissed what?â Twig asked.
âThis. Watching the sunrise with you. Going on walks. Just talking. You know, enjoying the little things in life with you.â
âDude, you know you can still do those things without me right?â
âI guess, but they wouldnât be the same. Youâre what makes them special.â
They were both quiet for a bit. Twig was first to speak again. âDang, I really messed up a lot of stuff with my dumb thoughts then. Sorry about that.â
âHow many times do I have to tell you to stop apologizing for that!?â Kip responded. âNone of us blame you for any of that stuff. If anything, itâs MY fault for not doing anything sooner despite seeing through all of your terrible lies. Besides, itâs in the past now. All we can do is focus on what we can do now, in the present.â
âI guess youâre right.â she said. âYou know dude, if you really wanted to hang out with me THAT badly, you couldâve just asked.â
âOk, noted. Youâd better be prepared for lots of requests then if thatâs what itâs gonna take.â Kip glanced over at Twig. Her expression was a bit troubled, as if she was contemplating something he had said. Seeing that, he nudged her and spoke again.Â
âYou know I meant it right? What I said before.âÂ
Twig turned her head to look at him. âWhat? The part about how me being there somehow makes things better?â
âYeah, that one. I want to make sure that sticks with you, because you seem to be quick to forget it. Youâre an amazing person. I know itâs hard for you to see it right now, but we all really do care for you more than you could imagine. And it doesnât matter how long it takes you to convince yourself of all that, because all of us are happy to remind you as many times as it takes. Nothing you think or say or do will ever change that.â
Twigâs eyes started watering at that. âSeriously dude,â she croaked. âI was just complaining about how I was tired of crying. Did you really have to go and make me-â
Kip pulled her into a hug, cutting her off. âYouâre the best thing thatâs ever happened to me Twig. You always will be. Please donât ever forget that.â
They stayed like that for a while. Kip held Twig there for as long as she needed to cry. After a bit, Twig slowly pulled away and took a moment to wipe the tears out of her eyes and regain her composure.Â
âYou good now?â Kip asked her.
âYeah, I think so. I think I actually feel a bit better than before, funny enough.â She shifted her gaze back to the horizon, where the sun had climbed a bit higher over the ocean. They sat there quietly, simply enjoying each otherâs presence. For the first time in a while, it seemed as if everything was truly at peace.Â
Twig eventually broke the silence. âYou know what? I missed this a lot too. This is nice.â
âYeah,â Kip said, nodding in agreement. âThis is nice.â
Erm Fuji I literally just woke up and I did not give you permission to make me sad already
hey.
