yk what i strongly dislike? i introduced the outsiders to my sister by showing her the musical songs and some of the movie and she did NOT care but I wanted her to so we could share an interest. but now that she’s obsessed with the music aND MY HUSBAND MATT DILLON— she is now the outsiders obsessed one. pardon my crashout bUT SHE CANT EVEN POINT OUT WHO IS WHO ON THE MUSICAL POSTER. so ponyboy gets jumped, like, slightly worse than johnny gets jumped. in the aftermath they all sort of switch spots??
Ponyboy acts like Johnny (jumpy and scared from being jumped)
Johnny acts like Dallas (gets all tuff and rough, swearing nothing will happen like that again)
Dallas acts like Darry (still tuff just more cold than anything. you really can't tell whats going on)
Darry acts like Sodapop (being a lot more soft and gentle and understanding with Ponyboy, because thats what he needs right now)
Sodapop acts like Steve (whose so so angry at the socs, their home, the world, because this happened to his baby brother and it would only get worse)
Steve acts like Two-Bit (who ends up making a joke here and there, and realizes he feels helpful doing do, and just not stopping)
Two-Bit acts like Ponyboy (getting all quiet and thoughtful, sober.)

after the Curtis parents deaths any time the gang wants to watch a movie together Two-bit, Steve, Johnny, and Dally scour around to make sure there’s no car crash scene in the movie. One time six of them were in the living room. (Darry was working late that night) watching some western movie. There was a scene about halfway through where there was a car crash, specifically one involving a train. The room went silent, when the others looked back at the Curtis brothers, Soda was sobbing. Tears racing down his face, he ended up bawling for hours in Steve’s arms. Ponyboy had an absolutely terrible panic attack, y’know the train colliding into that car he saw in his nightmare in the movie? Yea, that was the scene he saw that night. It took Johnny almost an hour just to get Pony to breathe normally, Ponyboy either did pass out or came very close to it. It got to the point even Steve and Dally were really worried. Soda cried until he passed out from exhaustion, not waking up until the next morning, and Pony had such bad nightmares he didn’t sleep for three whole days afterwards, and had paralyzing nightmares every night for a solid month. After that the rest of the gang started reading about movies before they watched them.

modern au curly johnny and pony went to a gas station to buy a bunch of energy drinks during finals week and the cashier was an old ass man and he said “all those energy drinks are gonna kill kids like you!” and ponyboy said “thank fucking god” back and johnny has a video of it

Self promotion cause I’m rereading my own fic for inspiration for the next chapter lol (also cause I kinda forgot what happened 😭) and here are some things I thought were funny 😭

Ponyboy is a sleepwalker.
He doesn't do it as much as he did when he was a kid, but it still happens maybe like once or twice a month.
He's not a super bad sleepwalker. Most of the time he just mumbles random shit while pacing around the house before making his way back to his room. Occasionally he'll do something weird like make a bowl of cereal or do a load of laundry, but that's it.
It's usually not a problem. His brothers are pretty used to it and if they catch him doing it, they just gently guide him back to bed (like you're supposed to) and that's the end of it.
However, one fateful night Tim Shepard decided to crash on the Curtis couch after a long night of drinking, only to awake in the middle of the night and find Ponyboy standing on the coffee table staring directly down at him with dead eyes.
It scares the shit out of him, and he yells for Soda and Darry because he's low-key convinced Ponyboy's possessed by a demon and is going to murder him any second.
They both come out into the living room and quickly figure out what happened. Soda gets Ponyboy off the coffee table and back to bed, and Darry tries to reassure Tim that Ponyboy was not possessed and that he was only sleepwalking.
It went something like this:
Darry: He does it a lot. The doctor said it's because he needs more sleep.
Tim: What he needs is a fucking exorcism!

Dally is actually pretty good at wrapping presents
He learned from Darry
Who learned from their parents.
Dally uses his money from work to buy gifts for his brothers
They’re actually very thoughtful but on Christmas he shrugs it off as just something he saw
Like if ponyboy mentioned some book
Dally will remember
Ponyboy gets stressed about gifts because he feels like his brothers are hard to shop for.
He needs it to be good
And it totally is
He’s even got Steve like wow you got this for me ponyboy?😍🙈
Steve in turn gets gifts that are really good without even trying 😭
He’s like “here” and they’re like “wow this is so nice of you 🥹” and he’s like “damn it is?”
Soda would make them take Christmas pictures cause that’s what they used to do with their parents
Soda would also be the first one to wake up (he would barely sleep he’s so excited)
He would be so impatient lol
Since pony doesn’t sleep like ever, he would hang out with soda until everyone else woke up.
Darry is grumpy in the morning cause his beauty sleep got interrupted so he makes soda go make his coffee 😭
Steve has chocolate for breakfast (same girl)
He shares with two bit
Reluctantly
Cause he’s a big back
Johnny is focused on the Christmas movie in the background.
Does buddy know he exists 😭🙏
He’s so grateful for his gifts
As if he’s surprised they went out of their way to get him something
He is also so proud of his own gift giving
Pony tries to play Christmas songs on the piano
When he misses a single note he slams the keys
Darry’s all like “there there, let ME try” and then COOKS
Ponyboy takes this time to go with soda to make dinner
…in a few words they end up needing the fire extinguisher
So they just go out to a small restaurant
And after they leave they make the last minute decision to buy some Christmassy flowers
They stop at their parents graves and leave the flowers and some words
No dry eye in sight
But that would be denied by a few.
They go back home and put in a movie
Hot chocolate 🤩
And beer 🤩
And they fall asleep and dream about sugar plums fr
Dally died with the warmth of his own blood, a warmth in him.
Johnny was the only one he ever loved but when he felt that warmth from his heart, all he could think about was Johnny and Pony
its why he called out his name, he had just lost johnny, and now he'd lost pony too.
except now it was his fault.
the call of Pony's name was him realizing he'd had loved Pony almost (or maybe just) as much as he loved johnny.
I would say this really hurt me but it is in fact true.
And what if I said Ponyboy and Johnny are For Good coded?
Ponyboy Curtis is a writer. But he doesn’t write for fun. No, he reads for fun. He writes to express his grief. He would never write a theme like The Outsiders had he not been brought to it by grief. Were something to happen to another member of the gang, I bet there would be another story written. I bet he’s written stories about his mother and father as well. But he doesn’t write just because. Ponyboy Curtis is a writer whose pen is motivated by mourning.

heyyy! so the au is in au in which the Curtis gang are the Curtis brothers and are all biologically related. It came to me outta nowhere and I thought it’d be fun to explore! All the posts I know of for the au are on my page (if anyone else has done it I have yet to see!)
I have a some works on it and one longgg one in progress! I have a one shot, a text fic, and a sicktember special that I’m gonna get to uploading soon I promise (classes of all kind take up my schedule often but I do what I can even if we are already in October by the time I finish lol. You can also send in a request!)
