The whole Dusty Springfield x Taylor Swift theory goes so crazy and is SOOO interesting to me! I firmly believe we emulate, respect, and draw inspiration from artists we can relate to or feel represent our most cherished ideals.
It’s obvious that Taylor is aware of Dusty as [her] music has appeared during the eras tour prior / during the countdown.
It’s no coincidence that Dusty Springfield just so happens to have come out as Bisexual and been known for that moment in her life.
It is odd to me that Taylor’s current artwork and album work STRONGLY resembles the color schemes and aesthetics of Dusty’s past work.
Moreover, in a strange crossover episode Taylor Jenkins Reid (Author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo) has mentioned the bisexual artist (Dusty Springfield) in her novel Daisy Jones and the Six.
It’s such a stretch but at the same time I swear to god she knows something we don’t and has stated that Evelyn Hugo could absolutely be Taylor Swift (as well as used Taylor’s lyrics as a muse for her writing.)
I honestly believe Taylor Swift has either read Taylor Jenkin Reids books OR directly inspired or co-written these stories (as TJR has an anonymous patron noted for Seven Husbands).
Idk…I don’t think any of these crossovers or similarities are just by chance. There’s plenty more visuals and information to support this fan theory but I don’t have time to pick through all of it.
I really believe that Taylor Swifts album 1989 (TV) is going to be her most freeing release yet, showing us her true colors regardless of solidified statements or coming out. The girlies who get it, get it, and the girlies that don’t, dont.
What else have you seen relating to this theory? Reblog and add your ideas!!!
Taylor releasing a snippet of LWYMMD and taylornation announcing a LOVER livestream is CRAZY. What is going ON?????
Something is in the works and I’m clowning so hard…if it’s rep TV I’ll actually lose my mind.
Screaming, crying, throwing up, punch me in the face.
I would just like to clarify that as a gaylor who is also queer herself, I do not actually care if Taylor Swift comes out or not. For me I just enjoy dissecting her music and seeing flagging in her social media posts.
It’s nice to see when someone who is as successful and powerful as her responds to her fans of all theory’s and ideas. It’s fun for me to read inter her words since her storytelling is so incredible and profound.
Regardless of identity, sexuality, etc Taylor Swift is still and will always be one of my all time favorite artists because her music is something that has changed my life and watched me grow as a human being.
She writes for everyone in her audiences including herself as she’s derived inspiration from her own emotions, experiences, and ideas. What makes Taylor Swift so amazing is just that. Her music, her performance, her fan engagement, and her love.
It would be cool to know the biggest pop star in the world is queer HOWEVER it would be selfish to put her in harms way physically and mentally if we don’t give her her freedom of choice/autonomy.
With all that being said: theory’s are theory’s and nothing more than that unless proven otherwise. I love being part of a fandom that enjoys her work and Easter eggs so so much.
“You can want who you want, boys & boys and girls & girls.”
Should’ve been proof enough knowing that album was about moving to a new city, trying new things, reinventing, and finding her place in life.
…am I wrong? I just feel like most straight people allys or not don’t think about wanting someone of the same gender identity/ sex.
1989 came out after RED an album the integrated country and pop themes/ sounds. RED was also a gut wrenching story about being a twenty something and so much hurt, pain, heartbreak, etc. Its no surprise she wanted to reinvent her music, look, and identity in 1989–
With 1989 (TV) coming out in October, I am so excited to see this album and how it has grown now that Taylor has been able to find her place in her life and has grown more comfortable with herself. Like the seagulls on her shirt, she is ready to fly free and show us her true colors, tracks from the vault, and share this experience with us.
I wouldn’t proclaim myself a “Toë truther” but it’s crazy knowing that during the pandemic they lived together…especially since during that time Taylor wrote two of her best pieces of work ever. Folklore and Evermore.
It is rumored that Zoë Kravitz helped write and produce some of those songs and for gaylors that’s HUGE. These albums are championed for their subtle queer coding in songs like Betty, Ivy, Seven, This is Me Trying, etc.
Zoë Kravitz has not come out exclusively as queer but has definitely made it clear that she walks to the beat of her own drum stating her role as Catwoman in Batman was definitely bisexual.
I speculate that if Zoë was living with Taylor and Joe at the time of global shut down it isn’t too far of a stretch to think that the true identity of ‘William Bowery’ isn’t Joe as Taylor proclaims in the long pond sessions. Especially since, Joe is properly credited as a producer on a good portion of the songs…why wouldn’t they just add his name as such to the writing credits?
Moreover,
William Bowery appears in Exile, Evermore, Betty, Coney Island, and Champaign Problems (excluding songs from most recent album midnights including lavender haze, maroon, bejeweled, anti-hero and more)
— I find it interesting that Joe would be so inclined to help write songs about the potential downfall of their own relationship…discussing topics of declining an engagement, being in exile from the one you supposedly loved, apologies, and longing—only to (public ally) break up at the start of the Eras Tour where Taylor sings about being so in love it doesn’t matter and wanting to stay in her own lavender haze.
I will admit I’m newer to this theory and do not have all the details to fully confirm my thought, but with subjects as they’re represented in Folklore and Evermore it’s hard to see how a cis-straight white man would ever have enough experience to discuss secrecy, forbidden love, and other difficult themes that Taylor holds deeply to her heart.
What do you think?
I feel like The Lakes is such an underrated song. I never hear about it enough.
“Take me to the lakes where all the poets went to die, I don’t belong…and my beloved neither do you..”
“Those Windermere peaks look like a perfect place to cry…I’m setting off, but not without my muse. No…not without you.”
He's in the room, Your opal eyes are all I wish to see. He wants what's only yours…
…What would he do if he found us out?
Ivy—Taylor Swift
(the tenth track from evermore, tells the story of a married woman falling in love with a person who is not her husband, leading to an affair.)
I just saw a tik tok saying that it’s queer culture to be a little bit in love with your best friend and I’ve never heard a more true statement.
I had a best friend like that and the ‘break up’ was gut wrenching and painful.
Even if they never dated, their love for each other is cosmic—
Dude, in Verse 2 of mirrorball Taylor is saying that *ALL* of her fans are gross delulus who get drunk on watching her suffering and that this one specific person from her real, actual life whom she's addressing in the verse is the ONLY person who ISN'T a sick freak that gets kicks out of watching her like a zoo animal like her *ENTIRE* fandom does.
Fuck off shitstain, Taylor has made it more than clear in her music that she never really had much interest in coming out of her comfortable closet even when in serious relationships, let alone just so pathetic little masquerade revelers like you in the LGBTQ+ community can use her as a political figurehead against her will.
There is no point in you losers existing as a fandom for any reason other than validating to Taylor that if she ever comes out she'll be expected by losers like you to tolerate being dehumanized worse than ever before by freaks like you in the LGBTQ+ community solely for the benefits of others despite her being pretty clear on Midnights that she personally doesn't want anything to do with that shit.
Sunrise boulevard is literally the street name of where the stonewall national museum in Fort Lauderdale Fl…….1300 cannot be a coincidence.
However I also notice Sunrise Blvd. is a 15 mile street in California which could also be a nod to Big Sur —it’s abt a 4 and a half hour drive between the two???
What do y’all think?
@9w1ft Thank you for the resources!!!! The eye theory is really insane and I’ve never realized how embedded it is in @taylorswift and Karlie Kloss’ relationship.
The more I notice it the more I know that it cannot be a coincidence or a mistake and there’s definitely something behind it that nods to their relationship and how much love (romantically OR platonically) they had for eachother.
I am so stoked to see what happens with 1989TV and what Taylor will have to say about Karlie’s appearance if she chooses to say anything at all.
@taylornation has certainly hinted something huge with Cruel Summer and I hope I’m not clowning when I say it’s a music video that talks about them!!!!
To my followers: What do you think about the eye theory????
Lately I’ve reflected on my adoration for @taylorswift when I was a kid. I was born in 2001 which made me 5 when her first big time album Debut was released.
By the time I was 6 I was singing along to tear drops on my guitar and shouldve said no like it was nobody’s business. However it wasn’t until I was 7 or 8 when my favorite song of all time became my personal anthem for years.
You Belong With Me was and has always been my go to jam especially when I’m having an anxious day. As a kid I always felt like an outsider. I didn’t have many friends I could rely on, I dressed differently, I thought differently, and I was very sensitive to that.
This song became something I would scream at the top of my lungs hoping anyone would listen. That was the moment I realized that although Taylor Swift didn’t know me, and might never know me— she knew what it was like to be that girl. The one who was awkward and different and too kind and innocent and naive for her own good.
I grew up feeling like I wasn’t normal or good enough but songs like You Belong With Me really gave me a sense of belonging and pride.
After that, it was history. RED was my first big concert at METLife stadium. Reputation re-ignited my love for Taylor Swift (digging me out of the trenches of my screamo emo phase)
And now as a grown ass woman the Eras Tour has brought me back to the girl I once was. I mean if you asked 12 year old me if I’d go see my favorite artist with a best friend that I love I’d say you’re kidding!! As dramatic and crazy as it may sound @taylorswift helped heal my inner child.
She grew with me. Her music has a genre and sound and feeling for every moment of my life and I really think that is something so special.
If there’s anything I can give back to her it’s a big ol’ hug, a box of homemade chocolate chip cookies, and my undying love for her and her music.
She’ll never see this but…Thank you for changing my life Taylor—you fucking rock so hard.
In honor of the nostalgia of it all I’m linking a Spotify playlist with all my favorite songs from when I was a kid!
Other side of the Door - ATL night 1
Wish I was still using tumblr during Taylor’s unhinged era.
Like this post as a petition to bring that back.
Saw this tik tok this morning — how do we feel about the cryptic eye message? I’m interested to see where this goes. ;)
Taylor Swift photos you’ve never seen because I took them ✨💅🏼

In order to discuss a queer take on Taylor’s Easter eggs, life, and lyrics we have to understand the term FLAGGING.
Simply put, flagging is to draw attention to information that you think is important, (especially by putting a special mark next to it.)
Since queerness existed (literally forever) flagging is something the community including myself, has done in order to discreetly and openly show that we’re part of the LGBTQIA community.
This has been done through color coding, wearing pins or buttons, shoe laces, handkerchiefs, terminology like “a friend of Dorothy,” clothing items, slang, referring to movements as a “hair pin drop” etc.
In true swift fashion, taylor is quick to hiding secret messages in her music videos, photo shoots, concert visuals, outfits, and so much more.
Since Debut, she has been hiding messages in her lyrics and planning announcements, songs, future activities, and ideas.
Only recently has she began to openly support the LGBTQIA community through creating music for queer perspectives like You Need to Calm Down. (Pictured above).
Since it is still illegal in many countries and punishable by death is is extremely difficult for world famous icons especially at Taylor’s caliber to comfortably come out without harm to their income, reputation, and mind/body. Leaving me reason to believe that IF she is queer, she has not openly come out to protect herself and her loved ones from harm. I mean, who can blame her?
I believe—that Taylor Swift uses her music and expression to flag. A huge portion of her audience is the queer community, regardless of the truth she continues to use her platform to not only express herself but also make music and moments for everyone to enjoy, debunk, and share.
From secret loves to hiding in plain sight her music is undeniably reminding us of an all too real queer experience that many of us face on a day to day basis. Her music is like a note, telling us that she sees us, she understands, and she’s here to stay.
What do we think about this?? — I feel like she was trying to tell us something.
Maroon dress, maroon lip. Pinky up and a glass of wine. Her security guard ahead of her was also carrying a glass of wine and a black hand bag similar to the one Karlie Kloss arrived with at the tour.
I believe that Karlie and Taylor must’ve talked after the show and perhaps prior to and this was all planned. As we all know Taylor Swift is ofc a mastermind and her publicist Tree Paine as well. All this talk about the ex bestfriends (or lovers) has been blowing up! This wouldn’t have been allowed if it wasn’t supposed to be discussed.
