I Worked On This Llobet Variation A Lot With The Metronome Today. I Have An Issue With Clicking On This

I worked on this Llobet variation a lot with the metronome today. I have an issue with clicking on this variation. Playing with p and i rapidly and consecutively on the 2nd string seems to bring about clicking. I have noticed that if I play with a lighter feel on the trebles this problem is lessened.

The boxes and plastic in the background are there because my home is still being repaired after it was damaged by Hurricane Michael, nearly a year ago on October 10. Despite living in a torn up world, I still have to practice, and I believe the challenge of making a video most days of the week will help me keep to focus on my practice.

This is from today’s faculty recital I played on at GCSC. Corranda by Agustí Grau. I think overall that my default right hand position could be closer to the sound hole. I’m glad my student sent me these videos so I could catch that.

Want please with my playing so I sat on this recording for a couple of days.

Starting this variation has been one of the hardest things. P and I on the same string is the hardest thing about, so I’ve experimented with just playing with P alone, and sometimes just P and I, with no A finger.

28, part 2

I did three takes and I’m sharing the better of the two today. Milan Pavan 3.

Just trying pay through the piece without stopping, without fixing buzz notes and other things. As long as it sounds halfway decent. Only focusing on the order and sections of the piece. If it’s all pretty much in order, that is the goal.

Meant to post this one last night. Still been a little too busy to mane a decent video. In the moving-back-to-school process. Stressed.

Played this entire piece for an audience. Here I’m working on one of the variations that I’ve had problems. In this video I’m trying to make a new habit with my lefthand pinky. When I do a glissando with my fourth finger, I have a habit of landing on the far right side of the finger. This can make the pitch sound out of tune. So, I’m trying to land closer to the left side of the finger.

This is a hard piece to pay if you haven’t had much time to warm up.

A little bit of Orbon’s preludio. Haven’t focused on this piece in a while. I tend to be a little too bright on some notes.

I changed my strings not many days ago, but I think I already need to change them. I think that, after playing on carbon trebles for so long then switching to light ej43’s, I’m a little surprised at how fast my strings wear out not.

Tomorrow I plan to do a video where the Preludio leads into the Danza “alla attacca”.

Had a lot to say about this video, but also had several issues while trying up upload the video to Tumblr. Annoying.
