Meant to post this one last night. Still been a little too busy to mane a decent video. In the moving-back-to-school process. Stressed.
Day 12
Still feeling sick, but found the strength to make a little excerpt of a piece by Julian Orbon: Preludio y Danza.
Need to put on new strings and new nails. Need to maintain my repertoire better š

I had not planned on posting a video on Thanksgiving Day. I really thought Iād be too tired, or busy. However, I got good bit of practice in so I thought āwhat the heckā.
This is second of Luis Milanās six Pavans. I realize that I have been focusing entirely too much on pieces that I am not very good at yet. I think that my time between now and when I play my final doctoral recital (on January 31, g-d willing), will be better spent on making the things that Iām already good at playing even better*.
Happy Thanksgiving!
*this doesnāt mean I wonāt continue to spend way too much time on increasing my speed and making the very hard stuff less difficult in my practice. Iāll just be spending more time polishing up the āeasierā stuff.

My middle finger gets a carpet burn after I practice this one too much. I try not to c look at the guitar cv too much with this variation, relying mostly on eae and feel for the landing part of the descending glissando. I look at where the glissando starts, but I mostly use my ear to determine where it stops.

Trying out some left-hand ideas in AgustĆ Grauās Corranda.

Iāve been worried about school everyday since my home was hit by Hurricane Michael last October. I had hoped to graduate in May, back before the storm hit. Itās over a year now and Iām still living in a travel trailer. There have been many hurricane-recovery-related tasks that have greatly interfered with my practice and studies in school. Iām even more worried now.
Anyway, Iām doing some slow practice here in this video. Beginning to commit the piece to memory. Itās easy to find where I have trouble with memory here (jolts in the performance). I have taken note of these instances and will work them out.
I worked on this Llobet variation a lot with the metronome today. I have an issue with clicking on this variation. Playing with p and i rapidly and consecutively on the 2nd string seems to bring about clicking. I have noticed that if I play with a lighter feel on the trebles this problem is lessened.
The boxes and plastic in the background are there because my home is still being repaired after it was damaged by Hurricane Michael, nearly a year ago on October 10. Despite living in a torn up world, I still have to practice, and I believe the challenge of making a video most days of the week will help me keep to focus on my practice.
Dear #classicalguitarists, what are some fun exercises and etudes for developing a solid p, i, a triplet in the right hand?
For instance, Asturias, Llobet Folias (3 & 4), Brouwer Estudio Sencillo no 4, Giuliani No. 2.Any suggestions and advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

These get hard after you practice them for several minutes.
