The connection between Halbrand/Sauron and Galadriel has had me thinking a lot. Galadriel (literally ‘Lady of Light’) and the Lord of Shadow.
Years ago, before trop was even in the works, I think, I took a class on Tolkien, specifically the lord of the rings, and we talked about archetypes. The reason the Sauron/Galadriel thing is captivating for so many people is because Tolkien literally designed them to be an antithesis to one another (the way he constructed the story was so much more complicated than that, and many characters can play the roles of heroes and villains). He literally made her name mean ‘Lady of Light,’ and Sauron is referred to time and again as ‘The Dark Lord.’
People, of course are fascinated by this pairing because it could go one of two ways. One, their differences would balance each other out, unifying cohesively into this one entity, half of shadow, half of light. Two, they would literally burn each other out and take each other to the ground. Fire and water don’t mix, you end with steam and ashes.
Both are deliciously riveting concepts.

1.Grand Declaration of War. I honestly think that not only the cover art that is brilliant but also lyrics and innovative style makes it deserve more attention.
2.Dark Endless. Death metal - based cover & style, perfect atmosphere, more, more, more!
3.Hallucinating Anxiety - sorry, besides loving Mayhem the most, I rather have death metal vibe. Everything about this album is perfect and I really respect Cadaver for NOT converting due to the pressure of northern metal community in 90s.
