❝ i don't usually talk this much, it just feels easy to say stuff when you're listening. ❞ \ ororon :3
Ifa is helping Ororon in his garden, having the time to spare since he finished rounds early and in a lull with new patients now that peace has settled over the land of war.
The saurian vet is crouched down in a soft bed of soil and moving the dirt with a garden spatula. Ororon is crouched down besides him also, talking up a storm of many and odd things, like always, and Ifa listens.
A whole afternoon spent together like this and it's not until the two Natlan warriors straighten up with their bounty of cabbages, potatoes, and fruits does Ororon speak another odd thing; and this time it makes Ifa chuckle softly, like the Mictlan ancient name bearer told a joke.
❝ Dude, you always talk like this when you're out here gardening. It's cool though. Sometimes, you have far more interesting things to say than I do. ❞ Ifa begins dividing the fruits and vegetables, knowing already which Ororon's will gift to friends tomorrow.
❝ I'm glad you can talk about any and everything, whether to me or these cabbages. ❞
It seems almost strange for Ifa to have a moment of repose. The trauma of the abyssal war still weighing down on The Tlalocan, the face of every injured saurians he's healed and lost still fresh in his mind. It feels wrong for the vet ( and fills his heart with guilt ) to sit at the edge of his clinic, feet dangling off the cliffside, and sharing the gorgeous sunset in the company of a friendly outlander.
❝ Mondstadt?! Aw, dude, you're way far from home. ❞ Ifa stares into his cup of Xocoatl. He's brought one for Kaeya and a plate for cookies to share between them.
❝ Land of freedom, right? Man, that's like the total opposite. Nation of war and competition here. What's it like, dude? Mondstadt? ❞
@ifadoc: you can stay here, if you don't want to go home. ( for kaeya; inbox call )
the warmth of natlan mixing with his own issues was making it hard for kaeya during his time in the nation of war. slumped outside of the vet's place, he looked up at him and sighed a bit as he shrugged a little bit.
"i don't want to be a burden, i know your nation's only just finished an abyssal war. i'm just a simple traveller here, but... it'll be a long walk back to mondstadt in this weather and time so.. i won't say no."
Ifa isn't sure how he's come into this situation or knows who ( or what ) he's helping, but The Tlalocan veterinarian can't do nothing. Ifa removes his medical satchel from his belt and lays it out for the creature to see everything he's doing.
He reaches into the satchel for triage materials and Cacucu knows the drill, the saurian raptor hovers down and turns his back to Ifa, giving his colleague the chance to reach into little backbag for smaller medical items. Ifa is ready to begin his care and he perks up at hearing the guttural plea from the creature. He blinks with surprise before nodding his head. Of course.
❝ I'll help you, bud, no worries there. I'm gonna look at you now, okay? ❞
Ifa can see they are infected with abyssal corruption and likely … far from human. They have a tail, indigo claws, eyes like a sea of stars, and a devolved speech pattern. Ifa will have to try his best here. He's not even sure if they need a regular doctor, a vet, or The Traveler who can heal abyssal corruption.
Somehow, Ifa can hear his ancestors cursing him ( with brooms in hands ) from beyond the Night Kingdom. He's healing abyssal creatures now?
"Relax, bro. We got you, bro!" Cacucu squawks to reassure the creature and Ifa motions again for the raptor to stay back. He can't risk Cacucu catching any abyssal corruption. Ifa too can catch it himself, but that doesn't seem to concern him.
❝ Almost done. You're doing good. ❞ Ifa explains as he finishes wrapping a bandage.
❝ But, you're going to need more help than this. Do you know where you are, or what happened to you? Who you are? ❞

Every new day comes a new experience, and a new lesson. Ifa sighs, face palming with embarrassment. The cosmos is vast and every world is different, the people, the customs, the appearances - everything different and the people of the Xianzhou Alliance apparently live longer lives than most. A child size person could be 200 to 300 years old and somehow that's an adult? Ifa can't make head or tails of this world, and tried his luck with asking directions to someone who he thought was younger than him.
❝ Forgive me, ma'am. I'm only tryin' to find the uh … ❞ Ifa looks around the busy street and lifts his hat, scratching at his head of seaform locks and trying to understand where he was on the Xianzhou Loufu. Damn. He's surely giving away he's new here.
❝ The alchemy commission? I have this here letter of recommendation and I'm suppose to look for … ❞ The cowboy looks back at the lady foxian and catches the flicker of those large fox ears, and Ifa chuckles nervously, warm in his cheeks with raising embarrassment.
❝ … ‘pologies, ma’am. I don't wanna take up any more of your time. ❞
do you think the reason why Cacucu is bonding with Wrio because Wrio looks like Ifa (they quite literally have the same face/eye design that resting bish face )
@ifadoc sent: “Don’t shoot the messenger, Granny.” Ifa holds up his hands to Citlali, knowing she’s about to erupt with temper. Ifa honestly tries his best to stay out of familial disputes, but it’s a little hard when Ororon sends Ifa as his delivery person and learns firsthand that Ororon has been avoiding her for a reasons, avoiding a lecture. Either way, Ifa ends up in the middle of it and can only nod his head, listening to the elder. “I’ll make sure to scold him an’ grab ‘em by his nose, for real.” Ifa jokes as he lifts the heavy basket of fresh produce and carries it into Citlali’s home. “Oh, I also threw in some fruits and jerky for you, Granny.”
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫 vibrating with anger around her ... the youth these days! "Do you really think I'm just going to let this slide?" Citlali scoffed, arms crossing over her chest as she looked up at the said 'messenger'. "You know, Ifa, you're just as bad as Ororon. How many times are you going to come all the way over here to our tribe on his behalf? You're just enabling his behavior!"
Even despite her height, Citlali waited for the vet to set down the produce in her home. It wasn't like she was going to turn down the free goods. However, it was far from enough to get Ifa out of this predicament. "Hold up, young man," She remarked, "I can't be bribed with food." Her annoyance was only growing the more she thought about Ororon's avoidance. When would he learn to take accountability?
"Since Ororon is going to stay in hiding, you're going to have a seat right there," The woman pointed to the table nearby, brows creasing as she somewhat pouted in her expression. "Do you really call yourself an adult by allowing Ororon to flounce around like he's still a rebellious teenager? You're supposed to be setting an example for him as his elder! Honestly—how long does it take you kids to learn what responsibility is? Frankly, Ifa, I'm disappointed in you. For starters—"
She then proceeded to lecture him for the next forty-five minutes.
Strong arms cross over the vet's ample chest and Kaeya's words, teasing as they were, did not ease Ifa's worries. In fact, he rethinks his decision and shakes his head; as obedient and capable as Cacucu is, he's easily influenced, especially by troublemakers and Kaeya …
❝ Y'know what, lets all go together. ❞ Ifa can finish writing in these medical journals later. He throws on his long jacket and Cacucu flaps happier, laughing.
❝ No, I'm not jealous. I'm not like you, Cacucu. It's bad banners to let guests pick up errands and make 'em work. ❞ Ifa shakes his head and brings a basket with him for the groceries they'll pick up.
❝ That sounds like quite a list. Are you trying to bake something? ❞
' Ah, are you sure you want to part from your companion just to make me feel safer? You're living up to your nice reputation, Ifa. ' Despite the joke in his voice, he's flattered. Cacucu can be a terrific support fluffball. He feels very supported already!' Alright, we'll be on our way then- remind me, what do we need to bring back? Grainfruits, berries, some flour...? '
