James and Regulus hyphenated their surnames.

They wanted to break the cycle. They wanted to prove that having the name Black did not inherently make you evil. Regulus never truly believed he had escaped the burden his name brought until James added their names together. If James can be a Black, then the name can’t be so bad anymore.

And all their little children got Black-Potter as well.

Well Imma tell you! in 1967 high school teacher Ron Jones conducted an experiment during a lecture on the holocaust when they couldn't understand how the German people could allow the Nazi's to do such things to the jewish people. Jones started a movement called "The Third Wave" and told his students that the movement aimed to eliminate democracy. Jones postulated that democracy’s focus on individuality was against mankind’s “authoritarian” nature, which he aimed to emphasize with the movement’s motto: "Strength through discipline, strength through involvement." and only made simple changes on the first day like asking his students to sit properly, to raise their hands before speaking, and to address him as Mr. Jones. The experiment was meant to be only one day, but the students took to it. On day two a salute was made and the movement was called the third wave. It began to grow as his students not only took to his tactics, but other students wanted to join in. The line "Strength through community" was added in. And then on the third day as the movement grew again, the motto "Strength through action" was added. Students were given member cards, taught how to initiate new members, and were instructed to report anyone who did not abide by the rules. By the fourth day the experiment was blowing out of Jones' control so he told the students that it was a nationwide movement, and that he next day a presidential candidate of the Third Wave would announce its existence to the public. Students were asked to attend a rally at noon the next day, and three students who dissented were banished to the library while the rally was held- where jones had other friends pretend to be speakers before revealing the "president" of the movement: Adolf Hitler.

It emphasized being careful about who you follow. The experiment was made into a tv movie in 1981 called The Wave (which I highly recommend watching btw), and shows how easily people can fall into fascism. I'm obsessed with the idea of Lily's period syncing with the full moon so for the week surrounding it she and Remus both just lay on opposite ends of the comfiest couch in the common room, eating chocolate and talking shit while their boyfriends wait on them hand and foot

Remus making Sirius massage his sore body while Lily makes James take hourly trips to the kitchens to get snacks and she uses Reg as a body pillow and he's like scowling and complaining the whole time like "I'm not even your boyfriend, James is just both of ours." but he doesn't actually try to get up

James frantically running around getting snacks and heating packs and making teas while Lily and Reg cuddle and Reg bitches at Sirius from the other end of the couch and Sirius bitches back while Lily and Remus read their own copies of the same book and talk about it over the brothers bickering

Reg stops every so often to give his own commentary on the book bc he's already read it

James returns from one trip to the kitchens to find Sirius about pulling his hair out while the other three are in a heated debate about which character is the best

Regulus and Remus HAD a crush on each other on the SAME period .

Third year for Regulus and Fourth year for Remus.

Regulus gay awerning was Remus , and Remus first real crush was Regulus.

They were paired for commenting quidditch matches when Regulus had a broken wrist when he returned Hogwarts that year.

They commented together, and they were hilarious, they had the sarcasm and the passion.

Peter and Pandora were the true victims of this, Dora listened to Regulus rambling about Remus' welsh accent and Peter listened to Remus about Regulus' eyes.

They shared cigarettes ( Remus cigarettes which for casualties were always few of them so they had to share them instead of each having one ) , they walked down together a little later than other students because none of them wanted to leave actually, Regulus was gifted one of Remus sweathers by Remus himself one day in winter.

When Regulus wrist was okay, Remus thought that they would stop talking, instead Regulus always asked him if he was the one commenting on the match and once he said that Remus gave him luck ( Remus cried thank you , Peter wanted to suicide ) .

Passing fourth/third year their situation becomes purely friendly, they still have that strange connection but only as friends.

In Fifth Remus started dating Sirius and Regulus started to like James ( Pandora first thought was to suicide ) .

Years later one evening someone asked Regulus who has been his gay awakening and he answered that it was Remus in his third year.

Peter almost suffocated , and Remus said that in the same period he had a crush on Regulus. ( Regulus laughed the HARDEST in his entire life , Remus with him , Pandora and Peter they sighed damn loud )

When the others asked why they didn't confess, they both answered that they thought the other was being friendly.

Barty cried because ( his literal words ) : ' We could have the hottest couple of Hogwarts , Merlin and Morgana both ' .

Regulus and Remus both laughed ( Sirius and James were having an aneurysm ) .
