Dennis shielding Dee whether it's physical harm or a verbal confrontation. And thinking about ada's tag alongside the gifs
They're both of equal threat to him...
When they're alone Victoria lets Joyce doodle with markers on her press on nails and it's okay if they don't match. When one falls Joyce puts it in a jar like a little art museum.
thinking about mac again. thinking about ‘this is about families getting back together and raising little boys so they could be happy again’ and how all mac wants is stability. thinking about ‘my guess is that you’ve been confused for a very long time’ and how he couldn’t even come up with a retort because, it’s true, he had been confused, but up until that point he probably didn’t even know what was confusing him. thinking about how he was neglected by his parents and then the catholic church instilling the belief in mac of ‘the original sin of being born’, and how, in his mind, the logical conclusion was to give up every part of himself for everyone else so that he could finally earn redemption for sins he hadn’t even committed.
thinking about him realising in the arbitration office that his friends actually genuinely didn’t care whether he was gay or not. how, for the first time, he realised he had unconditional acceptance.
thinking about how the gang may not be functional, but at least they are stable.
The things I would do to read any of your big fics even unfinished are so bad. I feel like they would rewrite my brain.

The Shower Fic™️
I'm sure there has to be meta surrounding Dennis and keeping the cameras constantly rolling but I haven't seen any (feel free to direct me to them), do we all think he's doing this in some part out of self protection?
Not to undermine how creepy and invasive it is for the women to be filmed, but I really do believe he feels safer with video footage.
We know Dennis has control over every particle in his life and he's tired, he's fkn exhausted, he wants to let that control go sometimes, he wants to be bound, but it's scary to be that vulnerable, he can't fully allow that for himself, so he keeps some sort of power advantage with the cameras. Just in case. So maybe, maybe, those cameras Dennis has in his room are proof for him that he's safe, he'll be safe.
And then he shows the footage to his friends to make sure it all went well, that everyone's happy, to receive praise that he did a good job.
Inspired by that one Luca promotion picture

charmac boybestfriends hanging out in abandoned skateparks and after hours bike rides, idiot4idiot. macden is what if we played a really intense game of gay chicken but like with feelings puppy boy in love with cat boy. charden is looking at a distorted reflection of yourself so you decide to be kind for once like they should’ve been to you. It’s knowing how touch is the most powerful weapon. It’s librarians and uncles and no that didn’t happen, it didn’t, you don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s feeling too much so you explode or dull it down with crack and glue. It’s two cats trying to escape a storm by holding each other, claws buried in each others backs. it’s letting go and leaving the wounds behind and they scar but never really heal. time passes and the pain is so routine you forget about it then you see each other and now your back is wet and you’re standing in blood.
Flare, Volume 36
Always feel bad when I see someone say something like "I don't have a disability but I have [something that is a disability but society doesn't treat like one]"
Migraines. Food allergies. GERD. Vision problems. Skin problems. For people that menstruate, conditions that cause irregular and painful cycles. Those are all disabling. Anything that impairs you from functioning or completing a basic life task without accommodation is a disability. Anything that makes you spend days in bed during a flare up is a disability! Not everyone experiences your symptoms and you're not being weak or whiny.
Mental illnesses that people treat as "mainstream" these days like anxiety, depression, or ADHD are still disabilities. Overcoming a massive struggle just to get out of bed, slow down your thoughts, or focus on what you need/want to do is disabling. Starting the day with less mental energy than most people is disabling.
For the migraine people: yes, everyone gets headaches, but no not everyone gets migraines. It's a condition that can be inherited in which our nerves are literally wired differently and more sensitive than someone who doesn't get migraines.
For the food allergy and digestive disorder people: if you eat something your body can't tolerate, you become sick. Doesn't matter if it's a trip to the ER or skin irritation for a few hours, that's a negative response in your body. Going hungry at social events because you can't eat anything, that's not something you just have to grin and bear. Prohibitively expensive or hard-to-find accessible food. Most people have the privilege of not worrying about eating.
For people with abnormal menstrual cycles: you don't have to suck it up because "lots of people get periods, no one likes them, but they all deal with it." Majority of people who get periods don't spend days in bed with debilitating pain or nausea. Your heightened struggle is real. Going months between cycles can increase your risk of health conditions down the line, and it's good to speak to a gynecologist if you have access to one.
If you are feeling discomfort on a regular basis in any part of your body, or if you usually feel unwell after eating, that isn't normal and you deserve medical attention and support
