"Hannibal. I forgive you."
Hannibal 3x02 - "Primavera"
I always imagined this song during the scene in the catacombs:
Saw this on Reddit today
"'The end and aim of my love formerly lay in the greeting of this lady to whom you are perhaps referring, and in this greeting dwelt my bliss which was the end of all my desires. But since it pleased her to deny it to me...'"
"'...my lord, Love, through his grace, has placed all my bliss in something that cannot fail me.'"
"Then these ladies began speaking among themselves, and just as the rain can be seen falling mingled with beautiful flakes of snow, so did I seem to hear their words coming forth mingled with sighs."
From Dante's La Vita Nuova, chapter XVIII
Hannibal 3x07 - "Digestivo"
Hannibal, 2001
"Joyous Love seemed to me, the while he held
My heart within his hands, and in his arms
My lady lay asleep wrapped in a veil.
He woke her then and trembling and obedient
She ate that burning heart out of his hand;
Weeping I saw him then depart from me."
Dante's first sonnet from La Vita Nuova, translated by Mark Musa
"Dr. Fell, do you believe that a man could become so obsessed with a woman from a single encounter?"
Hannibal 1x01 - "Apéritif"
"Could he daily feel a stab of hunger for her, and find nourishment at the very sight of her? I think so."
Hannibal 3x06 - "Dolce"
"Would she see through the bars of his plight, and ache for him?"
Hannibal 3x13 - "The Wrath of the Lamb"

Found this article on the Brazilian painter Fábio Magalhães' hyperealistic oil paintings from his collection called Between Life and Death; I think they are very beautiful. I'll put just a couple of his works here but all of them can be found in the article that I've linked along with an interview.
"When I use my imagination to create what we could call metaphors of a body-image, I believe it deals with strategies that I use to bring the private universe and common sense closer to human nature. As I present these images in the painting format, I intend to draw attention to the actions, often incomprehensible, that man has been facing in various parts of the world, whether they are close, distant or in a virtual state."
10 years ago today, "Antipasto" first aired (June 4, 2015).
"Once upon a time..."
"At this point, there is absolutely nothing I have to do. But I don't want to spoil the fairy tale, do I? You and your gingerbread house."
"Let it be a fairy tale, then. Once upon a time…"
