I wonder if they resurrect Buddy if he will get a similar arc to Kristian. Meeting his God and being disappointed by what he finds. Especially if Kristen is the one to resurrect him. Cassandra dose needs more followers. I feel bad for Buddy and want him to join the reformed villains bad kids ally team.
Thinking about the clerics of the Ratgrinders
I guess I just had the thought of “What if Lucy was watching everything happen?” And just how she would feel looking at Buddy and his excitement. Lucy watching as Buddy went through (presumably) the same as she did. Buddy being unaware of the depth of Lucy’s tragedy. Being so hopeful and enthusiastic to help people, and Kipperlilly is “brilliant”. And Helio would never steer him the wrong way.
The Ratgrinders didn’t deserve you two, maybe the High 5 Heroes did.
i enjoy rewatching kristen’s scene with buddy because like. imagine your locker just got tagged and ur trying to be diplomatic about it because you’re in a public hallway so you try to keep appearances right? you’re running for president! but the sticker was of ur rival’s party and not even for her campaign. anyway you ignore that because this pasty rotten proselytizer has just mentioned to you apparently absolving himself of whatever horror his spells have wrought in assigning agency to..god? by the raising of his hand in a twisted form of praise? and your brain is going a mile a minute trying to connect the hazy frayed edges of thought he’s leaking out (grades are of the material world)(i pray before during after football games we win)(helio doesn’t make mistakes, kristen)(helio’s holding onto us tight)(they’re all gonna go straight to hell) and you are looking into a mirror of your past and seeing the zeal simmering underneath his gall now. how dare he? really? (every cleric has to have some kinda deity, right?)(i don’t feel any control over life) and in your head you see yolanda, who severed ties to her divinity to teach with compassion and a fairness that must’ve been in itself holy, dead. (i don’t hold tight, ‘cause i’m in someone’s hand.) and you worry about bucky, about what he could become without you holding him tight (i’m happy to look after him.) and your muscles tense up as you smile politely, a smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes stony, impassive, like the wall you’re building to keep this serpent from striking at those you love. (careful.) and you, ready to defend, say, i’ll fucking show you.

Buddy Dawn makes me the most angry of all the ratgrinders. That passive aggressive derision. Thinking he’s better than everyone else. The perfect parallel of how that was Kristen in freshman year. It’s brutal and that interaction was so tough to watch. I need Kristen to take his worldview apart so badly
Honestly, I didn’t like Buddy Dawn too much before this past episode, but damn…
He replaced the Rat Grinder’s last cleric who died, only to suffer a similar fate at the hands of people he thought were his friends. He had such a heart of gold, even if somewhat misguided in his beliefs.
He reminds me of those types of spiritual people who honest-to-goodness don’t have a single mean bone in their bodies and radiate nothing but warmth and kindness, but are doomed by the people they are surrounded by that do nothing but take advantage of the naïveté.
I really do hope the bad kids get to revive him, along with Lucy Frostblade.
(Also I REALLY hope it gets explained what Oisin’s role in this is, because it’s not looking too good for him right now)
