While we get where you are coming from. It's a personal choice of whether a being wants to be referred to as a "person" or not.
Also about the aliens part, some wouldn't. Because to some "person/people" is human-centric.
We don't mind person/people to refer to most of us most of the time. But some of us do mind and some of us only mind sometimes. (This part might not make any sense, lol)
Once again, this is your own choice to be referred to as a person. But other beings might not like it. Honestly, just be respectful of others is our whole point here.

This may just be me, but I don’t get alterhumans’ aversion to the term “people”.
Like, to me, personhood is not exclusive to humanity.
If sentient aliens came to our planet tomorrow, would we not consider them people?
Personhood to me is simply an effect of sentience.
If you can comprehend your own existence, you are a person.
Sure, that’s mostly humans, but I’m a dog who can comprehend my own existence, and I belive that makes me a person.
I am a nonhuman person, but a person nonetheless because I think, therefore I am
Rebloging to give slight "update" on this.
We are right now just making a yarn tail (also, is acrylic yarn good or bad?) Until we get the time, energy, and knowledge to go about trying to make a tail with our dog's fur.
We are thankful for all the suggestions and tips other beings gave us! But also, we are sort of "dumb" and don't necessarily understand some things in the suggestions and tips, lol. So we would appreciate it if any other beings can help us understand a bit better forthose tips and suggestions, lol.

[If there are any mistakes in spelling and grammar, only correct us if you are doing it constructively, please].
Do any beings know how to go about making a tail and/or ears with brushed off fur from a dog? Or where to find information about that kind of thing? (We have a husky, and we want to use some of his fur to make at least a tail and maybe ears as well).
We are thinking about using the start of a yarn tail to add the fur to it (we also need fur safe dye cause our dog's fur is white and ours should be a kind of dark brown). Would this work?
We wanna make a tail cause we aren't really able to properly find an ethical tail seller [we are disabled, we aren't gonna go more into it], and we have heard that fake fur tails aren't really that great. We might just end up making just a yarn tail if we can't find a way to use our dog's fur for it. [Are yarn tails good for the environment and stuff?]

For the alterhuman ask game!!
best/favorite thing about being nonhuman?
worst/least favorite thing about being nonhuman?
Hello!!!
Best/favorite thing about being nonhuman?:
This is hard because we love a lot of things about being nonhuman! Honestly, the best way to sum it up, though, is by saying that our favorite thing about being nonhuman is just that, lol. It's being nonhuman, being creatures, being animals, just all of that, lol.
Worst/least favorite thing about being nonhuman?:
This one is also hard, but it's cause we don't really have a least favorite thing if we are just talking about being nonhuman. Our least favorite thing would probably be something about how a lot of other beings might not see us for what and who we are.
Hopefully, these were good answers!

SAYING "HUMAN" TAKES AWAY FROM WHAT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO MEAN
There are plenty of beings that are not human or not fully human or not human "in the right way" (all of these fit under alterhuman) and they are not less than or bad for not being human. We are not human.
STOP USING HUMAN AND SIMILAR WORDS LIKE THIS PLEASE
(We are probably gonna end up deleting this reblog and just blocking this blog/account cause we don't want to deal with those who use human like this)

Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

Firstly, species dysphoria is definitely a thing, and it's a lot like gender dysphoria (coming from beings who have both).
Secondly, absolutely it fucking sucks when we see the "I am human" things. Like, nope, that's not true. None of us are human.
(We wrote most of this a while ago, lol)

I know everyone in non/alterhuman community always makes jokes about these 'prove you're human' captchas (hell our host posted one the other day lmao) but I wonder, does anyone else get genuinely upset by these?
I don't mean the jokes btw, I mean the captcha itself
I know it's probably a really dumb thing to get upset over and the wording on a captcha doesn't mean a damn thing but still, it gets to me
Maybe that's just because I'm ahuman but it makes me upset to even think about having to 'prove I'm human' when I'm not
It makes me feel sick
I don't want to be seen as human, I don't want to be labeled as human, I don't want other people to call me human, I don't want to call myself human, I don't even want entertain the mere suggestion that I could be a human or anything similar to it
Again, I know that the wording on captchas don't mean shit, but I can't help that it makes me upset, it just does
I certainly don't wanna have to get upset every time I log into something online, it's exhausting
I guess it kinda gives a feeling of dysphoria? I dunno that's what our host Berri says, even he isn't sure though cause he only experiences gender dysphoria but I've heard species dysphoria is a thing so maybe that's what it is
Idk
I guess I kinda just wanna know that I'm not alone in this feeling, that I'm not just being worthlessly dramatic
We did!
And yeah, we get that. That's kinda also why we thought to ask if there was a word for the "human" version.
Thanks for the answer btw!!

Theriform Adjective (can applied as a noun in certain phrasing, see examples)
From θηρίον (thēríon) [diminutive of θήρ thḗr, “wild beast”] and μορφή (morphe) ["shape"/"figure"/"look"].
A theriform animal is one which was born into a body that is typical/expected of it's species and observable as such by everyone, with species-typical levels of sapience/intelligence and whose behaviour is unaltered by being born into a human body/raised in a form perceived as human.
It is not the 'opposite' of therian despite similar etymology but is instead to be viewed as a complimentary term to therian, nonhuman, alterhuman, otherkin etc as it exists to specify certain details of a species whilst not invalidating the identities of those who are not theriform. It is made to replace potentially invalidating phrases like 'bio(logical) animal' or 'real animal'.
It is not an identity label and therefore has no flag or symbol and does not need one. Do not create these things please, or use the term to describe yourself on a personal level.
Alternative versions for non-animals could include: floraform, nat(ur)form, techform, fictoform, feyform, voidform, starform, divineform etc
"Lol it's so funny being a cat and having a theriform cat as a pet we're both just kitties vibing but with different body shapes."
"Just because they're the same species are you does not mean you are able to take care of wild theriforms."
"The fact that there aren't that many theriforms of my species is so saddening."
"I wanna do quads alongside a pack of theriform wolves so bad!"
"I am transspecies, here is what I do/what I want to do to look more theriform."
"I wonder if theriforms get species dysphoria?"
(Just a little note from us)
We don't hate humans or humanity. We do have a bit of a general distrust towards humans we don't really know [much like some of the theriform versions of the creatures we are].
We do have (probably) human friends. We have had human friends in past lives. As stated, we do not hate humans. However, we are very cautious around unknown humans, and that doesn't make us bad or anything.
Hell, most humans would be cautious around some of the theriforms of our "types" (wild canines, wild felines, dragons, etc). And we would not hold that against them.
Hopefully, this is not very off-topic of the original post. We are autistic and adhd so this might not be the place and time for this, and if it isn't, we very much apologize. We are mostly just thinking we would say this now because, at least in our head, it is slightly tied in with the original post. (None of this would be an excuse, just an explanation, btw).

Where are my nonhumans and alterhumans that love humanity?? I feel like everyone in the alterhuman community suddenly hates humans and it’s pretty sad to see. A creatures existence is not inherently good or bad, that includes humans too.
Where are my creatures who enjoy being around humans? Have human friends? Where are my overhumans and humankins?
Gonna start using this for theriform animals (around those it is safe to) instead of the usual "real" or "biological" or other terms.
Hope strikeout doesn't mess with accessibility things. If it does, we are really sorry.
Also, question: What would the "human" version of this kinda thing be? Like a version to talk about being in a human body (or what appears to most as a human body) but maybe not being human? (Strikeout cause dumb question, lol)

a term used to describe a being who may appear as human, but is not.
a symbol i made for this term.
note that i did not come up with the term, just the symbol.
using the greek letter for H (heta) and P (pi) i combined the two. the symbol is called heta-pi and is written as ͰΠ
i came across this term, and i find it describes me as a physical nonhuman perfectly, as how my human appearance is a deceiving illusion to myself and others.
The college Maker Space place opened up again [it was closed cause the guy running it got married or something]. We made 2 new buttons/pins!!!!
Love these new pins/buttons!!! If you can't tell what they say, we put alt text on them.
