If you’re feeling happy today, remember that in this scene Aziraphale heard the bookshop door open and is convinced that Crowley has come back for him, as he always had.
He feels hopeful for a moment, but nope… it’s the Metatron.
And Aziraphale is destroyed again and must turn away to regain control of himself.
Yet he continues to look out the window, again and again.
Before finally realizing that Crowley won't come back this time and he’s all alone now.
I love the idea that God/Metatron separated Angels who were falling in love with each other by making one from each couple fall because that would mean Satan is hilarious.
Satan: Hey, hey, God.
God: Satan, I literally just kicked you out, what do you want…?
Satan: Who are you sending to Eden?
God: Aziraphale, why?
Satan: Nothing.
>>
God: Satan! What the fuck! Why is Crowley there!
Satan: He’s my favourite so of course I gave him this mission!
God: And it had nothing to do with Aziraphale and Crowley being separated by me and you being a bastard?
Satan: Nahhhh!
>>
God: They keep on screwing up my plans! Stop sending Crowley wherever Aziraphale is!
Satan: But it is so funny.
God: Satan!!!
>>
God: You know they’ve made an arrangement.
Satan: Yep.
God: Do you realise how powerful they are together?
Satan: Yep.
God: You are enjoying this way too much.
Satan: Yep.
Ok so Neil said they're "not talking" so my guess is that in s3e1 we could actually get two flashbacks, a cold open of the Fall (to show just how cruel Heaven truly is) and also a very romantic yet angsty 1941 pt.3 featuring an almost-kiss, to reaffirm just how deep their pining, fear and denial have been. The rest of the episode is scenes of them being separate and miserable.
And then in s3e2 they're reunited because they have to work together and it's awkward and tense but also funny and silly because they're both being very English and painfully polite about it and of course completely avoiding talking about the kiss, but they keep getting visibly flustered every time they accidentally touch or make eye contact and the romantic/sexual tension just builds and builds...
I love that Aziraphale read all those romance novels, had one look at himself, and decided he’s going to be the heroine.
Falls in love with the bad boy with a soft heart for him? Check.
Passenger princess? Check.
Always rescued by the handsome bad boy? Check.
Gets the bad boy to participate in a dumbass idea by giving him a pleeeeeeeease look? Check.
Bad boy builds up his confidence? Check.
Bad boy risks himself to save him and he can save him in return? Check.
Good for you, babe.
Rest of the comic is under the cut, because LONG :0
Also! Content warnings for body horror, guns, blood(although in black and white) and just...horror in general tbh
Operation "Fall of the Hooded Hawk": For situations where one half of skk has to shoot without having clear vision, and relies on the direction of their partner. In this case, Chuuya was giving Dazai coordinates of where to fire by tapping against his ear. (It's kind of like a trust fall)
I scripted a whole followup conversation with more explanation of what exactly the mirror was, and just general context, but this comic has gotten so long that I'm gonna write that as a short scene in prose, because it's mostly dialogue and if I try to draw it all then I think my hands will secede from my body lol — I'll probably be able to get that done in the next couple of days. But in the meantime, thanks for reading! :D
(3/5/24 edit: Followup convo is done!)
what if i k***** myself huh? HUH?
So Episode 6 wasn't my favorite but! I did collect all the soft stares Angel gave Husk
Bonus:
Angel being Niffty's dad
The heaven part was okay for me but Angel and the gang was wonderful
Can't wait to finish the season
Hey, Neil! So I've been putting off watching season two of Good Omens because I've been really pregnant and I've got a toddler to boot so I've had very little in the way of time and energy, so I thought I'd save it for when the baby came and I had a lot of late night hours to fill up with a fussy newborn. Well! My son was born this week and after laboring for eight hours with a nine pound baby I was very much looking forward to this! Just a new end to a book I've loved since I was a teen, y'know? So tell me, MISTER GAIMAN, now that I'm neck deep in postpartum hormones and low on sleep and I've watched the final episode, I beg your pardon, but, what the fuck??? (i loved every second, I cried several times, i'll be rewatching this at least three times before the new year, i cannot describe the amount of fanfiction i'm going to consume over the next few months, why can't they just have this???? i just want them to be happy and together)
I know. I know. It's the writers.
Jack and Claire: FYI, for the next hour and a half, we are not your children
Dean: Sold
Cas and Sam, panicked: Um excuse me, you're not going to follow up on that???
Dean: Nope. When the cops show up and start asking questions, I want to be able to answer them honestly and say "those aren't our children."
Something about Sam, especially in the later seasons, is that he is the first one to forgive, the first one to sympathise and the first one to understand.
After everything he's been through, being a pawn jerked around the chess board his entire childhood by heaven and hell, being tainted with demon blood, The Cage - it only makes him further believe in the persevering goodness that exists in people. Even when proved wrong, even when it comes back to bite him in the ass, still he sympathises.
After Castiel went haywire in s6/7 and broke his wall merely as a way to hold Dean back, still Sam prays to him and says that he forgives him, that he still thinks of him as family.
After Mary reveals she is working with the BMOL behind the brother's backs, the same people who kidnapped and tortured Sam for days, Sam is the first one who responds to her and meets with her to try and understand her perspective, even when he is still angry and hurt.
Once Jack is born, without Castiel and Kelly, Sam is the first one to believe in his goodness. To fight for him, even against his own brother, even though this is the son of his tormentor.
Even when they catch Ketch again in s13 and Ketch spews some crazy shit about being his twin brother, even though it's stupid and it comes back to bite him in the ass, Sam gives him the benefit of the doubt. He lets him out of the dungeon and gives him a sandwich.
He is the first to forgive Castiel again and again and the first to make an effort to understand his perspective.
I just... I love sam so much... he just believes so much in other people and their capacity for goodness and change. He knows from experience how messed up the world is and how being put in certain situations can make you do bad things, so he always gives people the benefit of the doubt.
So with all this talk of a potential Supernatural revival someone asked on Twitter recently what would you like to see when it came to the long awaited Dean and Cas reunion. And I gave my answer there as condensed as I could but wanted to write it here too, especially since I have more room to do so.
First and foremost, I don’t just want a requited love scene— I need a requited love scene. Dean’s feelings being unknown or unrequited is unacceptable to me.
I kinda imagine what Jackles said way back where when Dean and Cas see each other again— his first instinct would be to hug him. And then while they’re still in that hug Dean would say, “let’s talk about that goodbye”
Cas’ reaction honestly can go two ways for me. Either he’s 1. Awkward about it. Pulls away from the hug and begins to ramble, in a way that shows he’s nervous but he’s ready to let it go if that’s okay with Dean.
Or 2. Castiel owns it but in a resigned way because he’s expecting Dean to not return the feelings because after all, it’s the one thing he wants that he can’t have.
Cas, pulled back from the hug, is not expecting what Dean does next. Dean cradles Cas’ face with one of his hands and says, “Cas, me too.” Cas furrows his brows and looks at him with disbelieving but big hopeful eyes and then Dean says again in a whisper, “me too”
Then they’d embrace, but it’s different this time. More intimate and with a certain tension gone. And that’s when Dean would say, “I should’ve said I love you too. Of course I love you too”
