We All Know What They Really Mean Is The Force Is All That Matters And The White Characters Should Have

We all know what they really mean is the Force is all that matters and the White Characters should have exclusive access to the Force.

In none of the other 8 Star Wars films were any of the villains given more screentime and importance than the heroes, in none. Not even Darth Vader. So I am sorry, but I am going to call bullshit that when two of the three major heroes are men of color, suddenly the only other young-ish white dude who happens to be the villain needs to have more screentime than the actual male hero.

And before any of you Kyle fans comes at me “but he is the Skywalker of the trilogy!!!”, first of all, there are two other Skywalkers actually in the good side. Half of you are the same people who bend backwards saying how Rey should be a random because the trilogy doesn’t have to focus on a Skywalker.

But then suddenly it needs to focus on Kylo because he is one?

Yeah, you can’t have it both fucking ways.

Star Wars

That Star Wars Trailer....if all you care about is Reylo, you walked out extremely happy. If you care about Finn, Poe or Luke well prepare yourself to be extremely disappointed.

Clearly once again JJ is too blame for that as well. We go the apparent First Jedi Temple and learn jack and shit about the First Jedi Order. I suppose Luke learns about transcendent mode in those old books? Although why he be reading those books when has given up the Force doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

The worse part to me is Kylo telling Rey she is nobody? Really that will do jack and shit to shut down parentage rumors because Kylo is a fucking classic unreliable narrator. So how does he get this info you ask? He apparently gets the information Snoke who is also an unreliable narrator. How does Snoke get this info who the fuck knows but you know what is dumb, Snoke having this info and not acting on it. Lets assume Snoke knows and is telling truth why the frak would Snoke not go pick up a readily available Special Snowflake Force Unicorn. That he can basically mold from childhood unlike Kylo and who prime recruitment target since she is on a backwater planet struggling to survive? Bonus points since Rey would have no connection to the Skywalkers she best less likely to I don't know hesitates killing Han, Luke and Leia off for you.

And apparently the Force tree and its contents aren’t explained either 😂😂😂

I am happy Carrie Fisher is gone I shudder what they do to Leia. Cant wait for Mark to right a tell all book and no wonder George Lucas didn't grace the red carpet. Disney better have an airtight contract or George Lucas should sue.

Luke Skywalker couldn't kill his own father in duel threw down his lightsaber and was willing to let the Emperor kill him instead. Even though he knew his father was a monster. Heck it isn't restricted to family...Luke gave Jabba The Hut notorious criminal to which he had no Family ties a chance to surrender Han first. But I am suppose to believe Luke Skywalker would draw his Lightsaber to kill his nephew over some Dark Thoughts? You have to be shitting me.

TLJ spoilers (about Luke and Kylo’s backstory):

Good work although I am pretty forgiving of Volume 1 since they were small and indie. It reminds me of OOTS a webcomic where it was more DnD Parody for around the first 100 issues but after that it became less about jokes and 4th wall breaking and more an actual story. Except in RWBY’s case the transition never occurred and everything from the fights, to the plotting, to the dialogue has on average gotten worse in my book of late.

Fixing RWBY - Part 1

Fixing RWBY - Part 1

RWBY is a great and very promising show. Sadly in a lot of cases, it does not quite live up on it’s set-up or squanders it completely. Everybody knows there’s quite a few flaws in each Volume and a lot of things that could have been done better.

So I have been in progress of rewriting and working on each Volume and after a few very annoying data, losses, the Volume 1 fix-up is finally complete. Volume 1 got quite a lot of flack due to overtly padded out Jaune’s story arc and certain other issues, so hopefully this can fix some of that.

Part I covers Volume 1 and I will cover one Volume per post.

Behind the cut you will find Chapter by Chapter list of changes, followed by explanation on the issues with the Volume One and what the changes do.

It make no sense for Unkar not to sell Rey. I could see Unkar keeping Rey if had a way to train her so he could have his own pet force user but he doesn't even do that. He was going to send thugs to beat her up and steal BB-8 so there is no fucking reason for him not to sell her besides RJ saying screw JJ and Lucas, I do what I want. So I am just going to mostly ignore TFA and the OT and PT and retcon whatever the frak I want.

“Rey’s parents are not only just random junkyard people, they are horrible, horrible people who trade Rey for a ship off Jakku because the First Order is looking for Force Sensitive children, but Unkar Plutt does not sell her to the First Order. “

guess who’s going to be back on her Jedi!Finn bullshit

Don't get me wrong I didn't like the Rey Attack either I am just saying you can squint and explain where there is nothing that mitigates this one at all in my book. Yeah Finn’s backstory in no way calls for Comic Relief in my book. If they wanted this they never should have used Child Soldier background.

I keep thinking about how we were given the impression that Finn and Rose’s story would be a cool team up and that Rose would think he’s a Big Deal, but the storybook leaks basically give us a completely different dynamic, one where Rose drags an unwilling Finn around by the collar and scolds him for even trying to leave, and keeps him from leaving by force, and I hate that. I really hate that. It’s like the weak and questionable parts of Finn and Rey’s interaction before Harrison got injured and JJ reshot some stuff and changed their dynamic going forward because the antagonistic stuff wasn’t working. So why copypaste that bad dynamic that JJ already famously decided needed to be fixed? Actually make it worse? Bleh.

You say that but its not like the Magic Story-line didn't involve killing characters during major conflicts to raise stakes. Heck I argue it was more Game of Thrones in the past after all even Urza died. So I think blaming it on Game of Thrones, is disingenuous to the extreme. I mean the end game against Yawgmoth resulted in all but 2 of the Nine Titans dying and most of the Weatherlight crew as well. Sealing the Time Rifts? Again more dead characters. More recently Venser Dead. Elspeth Dead. So MtG never had a problem killing major characters in the past but now the Gatewatch has unlimited plot armor.

The Gatewatch they go up against the Eldrazi and Bolas and lose not a single member.  I can make a case for Bolas not killing most of the Gatewatch. Vess is obvious. Jace could be played on Ravnica since he is the guildpact. Nissa has a unique ability with her leyline stuff. After that though the case for keeping Gideon and especially Chandra around seems rather nonexistant to me. Gideon maybe cause Bolas proved his ability is useless and you want an idiot steering the enemy team as the leader. But what reason does Bolas have for keeping Chandra around?

That's one thing a lot of people hate, that winning over the Eldrazi was an "easy" victory, they were built up so much and so well in the first Zendikar block only to be turned into another generic villain to be killed in the BfZ block. And Hour of Devastation was barely even a setback, I think a lot of people were expecting half of them to die and the other half to be turned into Bolas thralls or at least one of them suffering from something that couldn't be cursed in one block.

They were built up so much and so well because you never actually saw them. It’s the Boba Fett effect, the moment you have to explain them they stop being cool. So the choice was either to literally never deal with them cause they’re too OP, or to make them more manageable. We still don’t know if there’s more to the story there, as Ugin flat out states.

Did you know that people don’t have to die for there to be stakes? There’s a really toxic attitude out there from grimdark fiction like Game of Thrones that is easily proven untrue by decades of genre literature never requiring it.

Perhaps Complex is the wrong word...its more Confusing.

But we have all read the Chinese Complaints and they are Cast isn't Hot Enough Compared To MCU, Fight Scenes Were Lame Compared to Wuxia and What You Get in Anime (High Standards for Sword Fights), Continuity Not User Friendly (They didn't get the old movies) and Plot was boring and confusing with the First Order not competent enough.

Short Answer: KK needs copy Feige’s Notes.

1) The First I am not really going to comment on if the actors are attractive enough too much but I would have to agree in general....Lupita you don't see and Oscar is the only one he pretty universally be considered super hot.

2) Hard to argue the fights aren't lame. Sorry Driver and Ridley just aren't that good and Boyega and Christie got nothing to work with since they got 30 seconds. The Force users didn't look Superhuman enough, I know they don't want to do Prequel twirling but times have changed and standards have gone up.

3) Hard to argue with this one but you cant really fix it super easily if you want to do Skywalker Saga Films this close to the OT.

4) The biggest sin is this...150 mins is long for an American Audience...its even worse for an audience who has to read subs. Beyond that it was boring for most of that time...reminds me of BvS too long without quality fight scenes.

The positive here is Disney cannot ignore RJ and KK failing to secure Chinese Box Office so even if the movie makes 1.3-1.4 Billion. This is a major strike that probably sinks RJ trilogy alone and weakens KK.

All the articles I've read on tlj underperforming in China bend over backwards trying to find an explanation that isn't "tlj sucks and Chinese people have standards". Like, they go 'Oh, Star Wars was never that big there! The OT never got a theatrical release!' but... tfa and ro both did, and got better results... if anything, tlj should have had more success, after them! They need better excuses (or to start MAYBE questioning why so many people didn't like it a bit more)

Also I’m sad about how articles even from usually good sites (eg Vox, which is the one I just read) pull the ‘fans just didn’t want complexity and new things!’ card while also criticizing Poe (“That f’ing guy”, “a 360-degree disaster”, blaming him for the near-destruction of the resistance…) and praising its feminist themes and how Poe should have listened to Holdo & Leia… (“Again and again, women try to set [Poe] straight, but he ignores or defies them”. UMM *white women) (½)

(2/2) … and just, completely missing the point! Like, in that article, Holdo & Leia creeping onto Poe is, apparently, “regarding Poe fondly” and Poe not facing the consequences. …I would also talk about Finn, but he was barely even mentioned (really goes to show how much he is the “male lead” under rian “kylo” johnson), and only in the context of “Finn and Rose […] played a direct role in the death of thousands of their fellow Rebels”. AND THE WRITER IS STILL NOT GETTING IT. smh …

These people are so far up Disney’s and Johnson’s asses that they can’t see or choose to ignore how awful and nonsensical the writing is, and how bad the movie is as a result. A 150 minute runtime for an action adventure flick is already quite a lot to ask of the audience, but to make it a rambling, meandering bore? Especially while opening in countries where you can’t rely on the SW brand to draw audiences? What level of entitlement does it take to think SW is owed viewers while putting out crappy and boring product, and that if people don’t see it in the projected numbers they’re in the wrong and don’t have the requisite intelligence to appreciate Johnson’s genius?

I’m also loving the way the white feminists are crawling out of the woodwork screaming about how revolutionary it is that white women are humiliating and brutalizing men of color in completely OOC and contrived scenarios. I see what their “feminism” is about and it ain’t pretty.

I am annoyed how they always crap on the PT Jedi yes they screwed up in the end but they kept it together for 1000 Generations or 20,000 years or so that is pretty good record. Luke couldn't even make it to 20.

But yeah the idea Luke would totally copy the Old Jedi Order and make no changes is just weird.

Why do people believe that Luke’s Jedi Order would be the exact same as the Old Jedi Order?
