I used to be really against marking up books and would clutch at my pearls anytime a book was damaged in anyway but now I see it as another way to express love. Water stains on the cover means you carried your favorite book through the rain because you wanted to keep reading on the go. Writing in the margins is participating in the conversation with the author. Leaving bookmarks and receipts in between the pages is like freezing traces of your own life in time.

A well worn book is a well loved one.

Why am i suddenly invested in the dubious relationship between a frenchman and a japanese man?? What do you mean Shumacher took care of Vettel and now Vettel is taking care of Schumacher?? What do you mean this motorsport is actually about family and love and tragedy and grief and loss and friendship and everything in between???

Oscar looks beautiful in his new Esquire spread. but you know what angers me? the amount of fucking airbrushing. because you know what he has in real life? acne. and freckles. and there’s nothing wrong with either of those things - not as a model, not as an athlete. and yet there is not a freckle or a blemish in sight.

put them back! let people have skin! he is stunning the way he is, he didn’t need his skin polished to twilight vampire levels of smoothness.

this has me just as aggravated as when magazines edit out Verstappen’s lip freckle.
